Contract for Second Niger Bridge Awarded



AT last the federal government has awarded the contract for the construction of Second Niger Bridge linking the South–South and the South East geo political zones in Nigeria. Mohammed Abdullahi, assistant director of information in the federal ministry of power, works and housing, said the contract for the second Niger Bridge was awarded to Julius Berger Nigeria Limited at a total cost of N14.4 billion.

As per your first attached link in which Okonjo-Iweala warned of a possible global recession; you conveniently overlooked the time the warning was given (2012), and the reason for giving it (a slide in the price of crude oil as well as the dire economic situation in Spain and Greece as possible triggers for another round of global recession). M'oron, the recession she warned about was a global recession, which she said may affect Nigeria. She never blamed the immediate past gov't like your god is doing.

Besides, the warning was given in 2012 and by the time they handed over to the incompetent, certificateless, waste-of-space that is Buhari, Nigeria had weathered the forewarned storm due to the steady and competent hands managing the economy at the time. By 2015 (a whole three years after), there was still no recession in the country. So you have inadvertently shown that the capable Okonjo-Iweala and her team should actually be commended for weathering the storm and seeing Nigeria through it.

As per the other link you attached in which the GEJ gov't was said to have borrowed in 2015 to pay salaries and fund the 2015 budget; yet again you're acting true to type by spinning each and every story to suit your hateful agenda.

Due to the fall in oyel prices, the budgeted benchmark was not met. What did this mean? It meant that for the 2015 budget to be executed with some level of success, funds had to be found to pay salaries and pay contractors so work wouldn't stop on contracts awarded. This is totally different from the assertion of the guy i responded to earlier on in the thread in which he boldly asserted that GEJ and Okonjo-Iweala borrowed billions of dollars to pay salaries. You see how a mischievous fella can lie, be economical with the truth and spin a story just to suit his agenda?

You claim the GEJ gov't borrowed hundreds of billions of naira from 2012 to 2015 to pay salaries, yet you only provided a link for the borrowing done in 2015...borrowing which i have given a satisfactory reason for. You see what i mean when i say you're devious and possibly suffering from a strong aversion to the truth? Give me links showing where billions of naira were borrowed to pay salaries in 2012 and 2013....i'm waiting!

You asserted Okonjo-Iweala left us an undiversified economy? It's like you never heard of the achievements recorded in agriculture (particularly rice cultivation) under Adesina. She left an undiversified economy, yet for the first time entertainment (nollywood and music), I-technology, E-commerce and agriculture sectors of the economy were so robust as to bump up the nations rebased GDP calculations to be able to surpass that of South Africa. Remember there was a time when Nigeria was mentioned in the same breath as the BRICs nations of Brazil, Russia, India and China?.....Well we can kiss that ambition goodbye thanks to your god Buhari and his deplorable team of incompetents!
