nairalanda1:
1. Are you guys ready to pay the kind of taxes, school fees, vote for corrupt free governments, etc...to make Nigeria a moon going nation?
2.See as you dey blame religion. Sometimes na country's priorites that governs these things. If any of the muslim or christain countries in Africa attempted this, they would be so broke in minutes, plus both of you will start shouting that 'why shouldun't government spend money on poor people.?

India sent a probe to the planet Mars. Most Indian commentators online were blasting their government for ignoring poverty in their country. Even the USA...at the time of their first moon landing , some americans were blasting their government for spending billions on space, not on dealing with domestic poverty

3. Many of you guys support the kind of economy that prevents Nigeria from going to space. You want government to share oil money to you, and your government obliges. You don't want government to support industrial development, and you don't want government to remove subsides on electricity so that the power sector can grow well well

Better stop blaming other things, and blame yourselves, Muslem and chreistian , tradtional religion and atheist fanatics Nigerians.
The tax mantra guru on the beat again.

Oga, let the poor breathe. We are not a rich nation by any standard.

Preach against endemic corruption in the land, rather than putting destructive burdens on the poor men of the land.
Education › Re: South East Schools Clear The Awards At National Maths Competition 2026 by dequir: 7:13am On Apr 02
Inspiration2017:
Deductions from the Report

1. A Historic but Carefully Hedged Claim

THE HEADLINE ANNOUNCES A "CLEAN SWEEP" BY SOUTH-EAST SCHOOLS, BUT THE BODY OF THE ARTICLE QUIETLY UNDERMINES ITS OWN CONFIDENCE. The phrase "7while the full official breakdown of all winning schools in the 2026 national finals is yet to be publicly released" is a significant caveat — it means the central claim of the story is unverified at the time of publication. The article is reporting a result before the results are officially out, which raises questions about sourcing and journalistic rigour.

2. Scale of the Competition Lends Weight to the Achievement

WITH OVER 10,000 STUDENTS PARTICIPATING NATIONALLY, A TOTAL SWEEP ACROSS ALL CATEGORIES — IF CONFIRMED — WOULD INDEED BE EXTRAORDINARY. The sheer size of the competition pool means the South-East's performance cannot be casually dismissed as luck or small-sample fluke. If the claim holds up, it deserves serious analytical attention.

3. Named Institutions Are Regional, Not National Winners

THE SCHOOLS SPECIFICALLY CITED — DIAMOND SPECIAL COLLEGE AND DIVINE RAYS BRITISH SCHOOL — ARE FRAMED CAREFULLY. Diamond Special College "clinched the primary category in a major 2026 regional mathematics olympiad," not the national competition. Divine Rays is described as a "previously documented" national winner, not a 2026 winner. In other words, neither school is being named as a confirmed 2026 national finalist. The article uses associated prestige to imply a national result it cannot yet confirm.

4. The South-East's Academic Culture Is Structurally Significant

REGARDLESS OF THE OUTCOME OF THIS SPECIFIC COMPETITION, THE ARTICLE POINTS TO SOMETHING REAL AND WELL-DOCUMENTED. The South-East geopolitical zone — particularly Anambra, Imo, and Enugu states — has historically placed exceptional emphasis on formal education, academic competition, and STEM achievement. The Igbo cultural value placed on educational attainment, the density of private and mission schools in the region, and long-standing competitive training traditions all support the claim that South-East dominance in national academic competitions is pattern-based, not accidental.

5. Institutional Collaboration Gives the Competition Legitimacy

THE JOINT ORGANISATION BY NIGERIAN TULIP INTERNATIONAL COLLEGES AND THE NATIONAL MATHEMATICAL CENTRE LENDS CREDIBILITY TO THE COMPETITION'S FRAMEWORK. This is not an informal or loosely structured event — it carries federal institutional backing, which means results, when officially released, will carry meaningful national weight.

6. The Article May Be Partly Anticipatory or Promotional

THE OVERALL STRUCTURE — MAKING A SWEEPING CLAIM, NAMING REGIONAL SCHOOLS POSITIVELY, ATTRIBUTING DOMINANCE TO SYSTEMIC FACTORS, THEN ADMITTING OFFICIAL RESULTS ARE UNAVAILABLE — FOLLOWS A PATTERN MORE CONSISTENT WITH REGIONAL PRIDE JOURNALISM OR EARLY PROMOTIONAL REPORTING THAN CONFIRMED INVESTIGATIVE COVERAGE. The author "ariesbull" and the 1:46am timestamp suggest this may be an online forum post or blog-style article rather than a vetted newspaper report.

7. A Broader Implication for Nigeria's Education Policy

IF THE SOUTH-EAST'S PERFORMANCE IS AS DOMINANT AS CLAIMED, IT RAISES A LEGITIMATE POLICY QUESTION. What are other geopolitical zones — particularly the North-East and North-West, which consistently trail in educational indices — doing differently, and what structural interventions could close the gap? The report, intentionally or not, frames the South-East as a model rather than simply a winner.

---

SUMMARY VERDICT: The report contains a credible and culturally grounded argument about South-East academic strength, but it is built on an unconfirmed result. It should be read as a strong early indicator or regional celebration piece rather than a verified national record. The deductions it supports are real; the specific claim it makes is still pending official confirmation.
Career › Re: Oracle Fires 30,000 Employees As A Result Of AI Revolution by dequir: 2:59pm On Apr 01
SIRTee15:
Very soon people will start burning data centres of these AI companies.
Btw, I already suspect this AI thing is a hype and would deliver far less than promised. Most investment will go to nought because expectation on AI is too theoretical to be pragmatic.

AI doctors, AI surgeons, AI nanny, AI soldiers, AI this, AI that. U can imagine some tech companies even boasted of AI teachers that will replace real human teachers in classroom.

Ordinary AI driverless car they can't fix and it's more than 10 yrs they launched self driving car. My wife has to abandon it since it's always driving her to abandoned roads, recently a self driving tesla wanted to drive the owner into the river.

No doubt AI will perform well with tasks primarily within the digital environment, require information handling, or rely on repeatable decision-making. So long as there's no complexity and those jobs are not influenced by deep human interactions. AI will excel in these areas because computers are its native environment.

Beyond that, I don't see anything AI want to change in fields of physical labour or complex human interactions. I doubt even robotic AI can impact much.
Thanks. You are the only who got the track of the news. The rests are only hyping AI, when actually the news said AI is not giving the returns they expected from their investment on it.

Stop supporting these incompetent people to keep fleecing the masses, as long as you keep appointing incompetent and corrupt people if you like increase it to the highest money known to man it won't still work.
Someone like Bath Nnaji was making significant progress then, but because of the corruption in the system he was bullied out yet u keep shouting increase tarif up and down.
Also when Mr fashola was appointed as pwer minister all he did was keep increasing tarrifs all the time did it solve anything?
Rest and stop reposting these same thing all the time, encourage them to look for competent and reduce corruption and see things work.
Don't mind nairalanda1. His mantra is increase tax, increase tarrifs always. He has nothing else to advocate to improve the lot of the poor masses that inhabit the country.

Where will the miserable and mostly unemployed citizens get the money to pay his beloved taxes and tariffs, and where are the saints who will judiciously manage the contributed money in a country filled with criminal treasury managers? He never consider that.

In the 1800 the people faced such onslaught from criminal elements and sis they run away, no. The gathered together and formed the Texas Rangers. Starting as a group of a dozen or so men. Today it is the part basis of the county policing system however they remain an independent agency.

Their counterparts in Nigeria rather run away from their communities and ancestral lands to be taken over by these land pirates. Communities that have both serving and likely retired military, paramilitary police men. Personnel that can form the kernel of a solid internal security organisation serving those communities.

What a pity.
That's what I hate about it all, whole community running away because of alien invasion. Where is their communal courage? Why can't they form local vigilantes with all outlying communities, made up of local hunters and virile youths to defend their communities interests. This is shameful.

So what has been stopping the Aba people from taking advantage of your so called massive industry and turning it into a huge money making venture bigger than our oil industry?

To their advantage, they now have 24 hrs supply of electricity, and banks are there to finance any project, so what's stopping them?

Let Mr. Obi come and tell us his perceived hindrances to this big dream he has for Aba costumes industry.

The bigger picture.

These pastors sleep with peoples' wives especially the ones looking for "fruit of the womb" and get many of them pregnant. The unsuspecting husbands of these women will be rejoicing that God has done it not knowing the children are fathered by the pastor.
So, what this charlatan is trying to do is to try and work on the thought process of men whose wives are being impregnated by the pastors so they don't go for DNA which could implicate the pastor.
I think he is one of those pastors. Every man in his church whose wife was once looking for pregnancy and got pregnant after seeing this man should look for money ASAP and do paternity test on the said child.
And come scatter church after detection.

I hear you.

Omo, I Just Noticed Something About These "Wailing" People!
Abeg, make una come see something o! During the early days of this T-Pain (Tinubu) presidency, there was this popular yarn from the "Crying Region."

They were everywhere shouting:

"Tinubu no go fit pass this one, he no go fit pass that one! He must bow to the North because they are his masters! He go soon go lie down for ground dey beg them!"

But see God!

The moment they realized the man has easily domesticated all the nonsense they threw at him—without even send-ing whose ox is gored—the narrative changed sharp-sharp.

Suddenly, he is no longer a "Northern Slave." Now, they’ve started calling him "ABACHA!" So he’s now Abacha, eh? He’s no longer the puppet you people were praying for? Pandoro people! Chai!

By the time he’s handing over to Shettima after his second tenure, your eye go clear. You go finally understand say: "It’s not the same way you drink pepper soup that you drink water!"
