A 3D or 3-D (three-dimensional) film or S3D (stereoscopic 3D) film[1] is a motion picture that enhances the illusion of depth perception. Derived from stereoscopic photography, a regular motion picture camera system is used to record the images as seen from two perspectives (or computer-generated imagery generates the two perspectives in post-production), and special projection hardware and/or eyewear are used to provide the illusion of depth when viewing the film. 3D films are not limited to feature film theatrical releases; television broadcasts and direct-to-video films have also incorporated similar methods, especially since 3D television and Blu-ray 3D.
3D films have existed in some form since 1915, but had been largely relegated to a niche in the motion picture industry because of the costly hardware and processes required to produce and display a 3D film, and the lack of a standardized format for all segments of the entertainment business. Nonetheless, 3D films were prominently featured in the 1950s in American cinema, and later experienced a worldwide resurgence in the 1980s and 1990s driven by IMAX high-end theaters and Disney themed-venues. 3D films became more and more successful throughout the 2000s, culminating in the unprecedented success of 3D presentations of Avatar in December 2009 and January 2010.

Where can I find a cabinet to store my computer and audio visual equipment? I'm looking for a reasonable priced unit to store my computer and audio visual equipment in.
The computer would go on the bottom shelf and is approx. 50cm high. There would then need to be a shelves for 3 other items around the size of a DVD player. I'm looking fro something made of wood but that will be able to withstand a little heat as it's going to be placed to the side of a fireplace (with a real fire in it). I'm in the UK so wherever the item came from delivery to/within the UK would have to be reasonable.

If you've ever ventured down the perplexing world of Adobe's graphic software, then you're probable confused by the difference between Photoshop, Fireworks and Illustrator. After all, at a first glance, they seem more or less the same eh? Yet, there are some fundamental differences.
Fireworks is a graphics application, just like Photoshop… but the “target user” of the program is much different. The main reason that people pick Fireworks is because it’s built specifically for web designers. It’s lightweight, moves fast (even on older computers), and is easier to learn than Photoshop if you’re new to either program. Because it’s made for web designers, it’s more likely to grow over time to become more suited to this industry. It also means that if you’re just starting out, you won’t be bothered with any of the complex UI or steep learning curve that you might find in Photoshop.
Styles in Fireworks are very similar to CSS on a webpage. Each element can have a fill, stroke, font, and effect and then have it saved as a Style that can then be reused and modified the same way cascading stylesheets work. Edit the parent “style”, and all elements that are using that style are changed. This is particularly effective when dealing with multiple instances of text blocks across a site. Update one and you will update them all. Again – this is a great time saving tool.

This simple freeware application works pretty well, given how basic the interface is. It has two main features: to download FLV files from YouTube, and to convert them to most major formats. If there's a YouTube URL in your clipboard, it will automatically paste it for you when you click on the dialog box. From there, just hit OK and the downloading will commence. One more left-click is all it takes to load the file in the converter, which supports iPhone, iPod, PSP, cell phone, AVI, MP3, WMV, and Xvid. Surprisingly, there's also a basic video editor for cropping videos by time stamp. You can also cut out the sound when converting.

Adobe Photoshop is a program that isn't hard to learn. After practicing with the program with different files, you will learn how to use more features inside the program and complete tasks more quickly.
Image Editing: Adobe Photoshop is mostly used for image editing as its name suggests. It is practically a –shop” where you can doctor and work on photos. If you're interested in using Adobe Photoshop for image editing, the tools you'll start out using will most likely be Blur, Smudge, Selection tool, and Eraser. All of these tools are located over in the Tool box on the left side of the screen. Effects are also great image editing tools which can be found under the –Filter” tab at the top of the screen.
Image Creation: Some artists and designers also like to use Adobe Photoshop for image creation. In this case, he/she might use the Pen tool, Paintbrush tool, shapes, patterns, and layers. Most of these tools can also be found in the Tool box on the left side of the screen. Patterns, textures, and blending options can be edited in the layers panel once you've got at least one layer to work with.
Using Layers: As previously mentioned, layers are a pretty useful component of Adobe Photoshop. They are essentially different artboards stacked on top of each other to create one image result. If your image has many different elements, each of the elements should be placed on their own layers. This can help you easily and quickly remove parts of an image that you want to hide or don't like. It's a good rule of thumb to use layers in every project you work on in Adobe Photoshop so that you don't have to laboriously edit out elements you don't like.

With advanced technology comes the opportunity to receive help in this field of employment. Machine transcription equipment plays an important role in making this job a little bit easier.

Machine transcription equipment can reduce turnaround time significantly. One research study conducted by the American Roentgen Ray Society, in February of 1997 showed continuous voice recognition transcription equipment decreased turnaround time from 87.8 an hour in 1996 to 43.6 an hour in 1997. There are two principal methods for converting an audio file to text. You can use transcription software and key in the text, or use speech recognition software. Which will work best depends on what you are transcribing. Speech recognition is fast. It works well for dictation or other recordings where there is a single speaker and the sound quality is good. Typing takes more time, but will usually yield more accurate results for podcasts or interviews where there are multiple speakers. You can also send the audio file to a transcriptionist who will create a document for you.

You may need to request your academic transcript if you are applying for a job, scholarship or acceptance into a graduate education program. Academic transcripts show your grades for every class you have taken during your academic career. Generally, institutions have security protocols for printing and sending transcripts.

Before you can request an academic transcript, you will need to complete a request form with your institution. This form comes with a small fee and may be completed either in the office or online through the school's website. The form serves as the first line of security against fraud by asking for student name, address, home phone number, dates attended, and the degree obtained. These facts are checked against those in the computer system to verify student identity. When submitting the form in person, you will also be asked to show a student ID to verify identity and sign the form to authorize release of your personal information.

Your Social Security number (SSN) is used throughout your college academic career as your identification number. Presumably, only you should know your social security number. When requesting a transcript in-person or online, you will need to provide your SSN for verification purposes. This is an important security protocol as forging someone else's SSN is a serious crime.
