It is well. I hope our men will also learn to be helpful on the home front. Unfortunately, I am not good on the other front besides grocery shopping, cooking, and doing dishes. That is why I try as much as I can to ensure these ones are done by me most of the time because my wife sees to cleaning the house and arranging the play area which I find very stressful for her. I also strive to make sure she sleeps much hours because she wants to wake up everyday at 5:30am even on days when she resumes work at 10am which I frown at so even when the alarm goes up, I make sure I encourage her to sleep more except on days she is resuming 9am.
Bros, you are too good honestly.
My hubby can cook, takes care of the kids and some other stuffs. I am grateful for that.

I am not agreeing with the bolded. I understand some men relaxes when their wives start making the money and go into car exportation business which I find irritating. However, I will advice these women not to do over time (many do because that is where their extra money for the flamboyant lifestyle comes from) so that they have enough time for themselves to do some of the chores they need to. This will also help the men involved re-align their thoughts/positions and perhaps, continue with their hard work may be reduce it a bit while also, improving themselves.
You think it's easy with everybody on your throat.
You are covering for your husband, family, bills, kids, your retirement and what have you.

I contracted out deep cleaning my house these days. No energy. Anything to make life easy abeg.

Remember, some of these ladies have sick husbands. They will not tell you what they are going through. Even abroad, they are afraid of backlash.

One of my relatives retired as a level 8 nurse. All the kids have grown and moved out. Husband was sick for so long. At a point, she took him to care home so she can breath. Kids supported her 100% cos this lady has really suffered. This lady was responsible for her family both extended.

Reality is diff from all these nairaland talk.

Come to uk and see what our men are doing, you will shake your head.

I have said it before, anybody that has a level headed man has a diamond and should be ever thankful cos many are not finding it easy.

Mentally and physically stressed.
Many are figuring it out now.

This landed me in the hospital twice.
The first time was rashes all over as my body was releasing histamine.
The second was my period was running like tap water for more than 2 weeks with the rashes.

I decided to tell myself the truth after my GP Sat me down for serious talk.

My manager looked at me last 3 weeks and said, babe, book a holiday ASAP.
Can't even find where to squeeze it.

No vex, how many Nigerian men dey do the cabbie business sef? Besides are those in it not making their good money? At least, I have one who does it because it works best for his large family (it helps them avoid daycare and before and after school cost).

I think the most important thing is marrying someone who values a home and know it takes two people to build one.
Transportation biz gives money. Just that we are too big to do that.

Here, Arabs are the landlords and they earn a lot.
Ghanaians do that too.

We want traditional wives yet we need the money from her. She can only be one.

This is an hypocritical contradiction.

Your party wants to take back guns so where will you get a gun to shoot an intruder?

Her statement shows she's proud to be a gun owner.
It was a trap and she fall for it.
Democrats said no to gun.
Why is she now showing she is a proud gun owner.

All of them will be saying no to owing a gun yet have one.

For all the good reasons.

Nigerian men have a great reputation for being hardworking, full of rizz and amongst the most educated.

Hope this isn't news to you.
I don't disagree at all.
But, unicef said 1 in every 5 out of school children in this world is a Nigerian.
So if that is the case, can you still say we are amongst the most educated?

Yes, there are some not-so educated men, yet Nigerian men are well respected sought after by other ethnicities.

They should learn to value themselves and leave the ingrates alone.

If he did anything like Diddy, they ought to get him too

Besides Epstein and Harvey Weinstein weren’t black men
Epstein is not alive to be dragged cos they eliminated him to cover up so many.

But black man, you are a joker if you think you are protected.
Diddy wanted to show he has arrived to people who made him despite multiple warnings when they have his dossier. He want to control a biz venture 100% because he thought he has arrived.
They just decided to use him to put others in check.
Harvey was 1979 case which I can't talk about as I can't research on what really happened then.

Black will continue to be used and dumped, disgraced by both politicians and entertainement miguls until they get their act together.

We are saying the same thing.

Why should an educated man doing well in US, go to Nigeria to imprt a wife who would ultimately divorce him, when he can get the same treatment from a prettier American lady?
Most educated men from Nigeria to abroad don't get their dream jobs hence they do menial jobs.
Nigerian men still think nursing is a woman job. You can easily get employed with nursing degree.
They will study engineering and expect work from the moon.
I know a lady from rivers state who works 3 jobs in uk. Was in uk as a student. Sponsored by brother but is married. The husband, a dependant can't do anything. He don't even know how to make garri.
Wife will work and school. She later gave birth. Child was still born with loads of problem and this man can't even look after his own child yet he is not working and don't want to work. Said all the jobs are beneath him.
Fast forward to less than 2yrs, it was her family that filled divorce on her behalf when they visited without her knowledge. She want to keep her marriage at all cost but she was dying
That man will say all manner of things to badmouth the wife.

There are thousands of Nigerian husbands like that man abroad. Real fact.

I'm not saying Nigerian women are perfect but believe me, most of these hostilities are caused by the men. We all know our men has self esteem issue. Once you conquer that, you will start seeing marriage and your wife differently and will enjoy your marriage.
He went back to naija.

You are talking rubbish.

Anyway, this is for the barely educated men who indulge in bringing to US some worthless women.
Educated or non educated, the same, the same.
Change your mentality of owning your wife and you will have a good marriage.

Sponsoring her education is never a reason to turn her to slave.

Men sponsored girlfriend to uni and name them, and moved on. Your wife is not your retirement ticket or public purse that you and your family can control.

The moment a wife resists that selfish control, she becomes jezebel

Alot of these Nigerian men put their wives in nursing school and turn around years later when she qualifies to ask for her cheque later on.
Their real intention was to make her the cash cow of the family.

When are these men not using that extra money they have to invest in themselves so they're better equipped to handle the finances of their home?

Alot of them think nursing roles are feminine jobs that are beneath them. That's why they rather their wife train as a nurse and become the family's money-maker.

When the man's ask for her salary that's when the war starts.
If it's only salary, that's better.
They will never help in the house.
They want a traditional wife as well as the money.
As time goes on, the woman is mentally and physically stressed. She make money and give the man to send to his family like it's his money. Yet the family badmouth her. The man will never open up that the money is from the wife.

When I wanted to travel outside the country, everybody was like go and study nursing. They will push and push you. Some work more than 12 hours a shift go home and become a wifey. Cook and wash. Some men can't even load the washing machine.
The worst is the money you give them, they use to have side chick. Some of these wives know and it's a stab in the heart.
The things I see here, gosh, any man that come out to cry, I have no pity at all.
What they do here is shocking and they do it boldly and with pride.

As for those who earn more than their wives, no be naija man again. He willstill behave like one regardless.

No woman want a divorce or a broken home. All the broken homes I have seen and intervened in, 98% is caused by the man.
And guess what, if they are married to non Nigerian, they behave.

And some of these non Nigerians don't even care to make a single Nigerian dish for them, yet they are in it enduring. Why nit replicate it for your naija wife. Is she your slave?

Tired of these stories.

thanks for your soothing advice. Sis ehn I dunno if it's actually ulcer or acid reflux. You know there are three of them: ulcer, gastritis and acid reflux. I think I have acid reflux from the symptoms I'm having. But I think they're all connected sha. Just this week I have been having this choking feelings on my throat as if my breath is seizing. It gets worse when I'm eating. I googled it up and saw that antacids is a remedy for it. I have taken antacids and it has calm down but little pain persists.
Hmm so palm wine is a probiotic? My cousin did her introduction sometime ago and I refused to drink palm wine thinking it would trigger ulcer? Chai silly me!!
Thanks for your advice. I appreciate you

You need to see your doctor. Actually, you need to see an endoscopist. You shoukd be referred to one by your doctor. They will insert one long thing inside your mouth to check from your throat to upper stomach. That way, you will know what is wrong and what you should be treating. Pls dont overlook it. If it's cancerous, the earlier it's detected and controlled the better and believe me,........I shouldnt say further.

The probiotic work for your guts. You can buy the supplement but I prefer one you made yourself.

Yes, pami is a probiotic, ogiri, iru anything we eat that is allowed to ferment is a probiotic and we need probiotic like we need water.

I didn't recommend pami cos i don't know if you will get original one for everyday use.

I eat kimchi always for my gut health. If your gut is healthy, no candida or thrush. So when you have a healthy gut, most diseases we suffer from just disappear.

Less carb and sugar if you can. Most of what we suffer from is as the result if what we put in our mouth.
Good health to you

Ulcer medicine 65k. God will help us with this ulcer matter o! The thing is now like a national sickness after malaria.

It is well o!!
You suffer from stomach ulcer?
Pele sis.

Probiotics are excellent home remedies for ulcer but Nigerians don't know much about it. Uou can make yours.
Google probiotics and benefits.

You can make one yourself. It's just fermented stuffs especially veggies. We only have iru, palm wine and pap water as probiotics in Nigeria. So bad.

Make sauerkraut. It's a German popular probiotic and very easy to make with 2 or 3 ingredients.
Go to youtube and check how to make sauerkraut.
Warning. It's not sweet but very sour. Yet the best probiotic in the world. Comes after kimchi.

It will help heal the Tommy gradually. Antacid before bed is also good.

As per your family working for oil company for the past 20yrs. Oil company or oil servicing company get levels. A driver working with an oil company don't get the same benefits as a health worker or an engineer. Even engineers get levels.
But as a health worker, all I said applied to her.

You also haven't completely escaped the insecurity and threat of kidnapping as long as your parents and siblings are living there. It’s not just the drivers of ‘nice cars’ who are unsafe; everyone is at risk.
So, why is this such a highlight for her and her 5 million?
As I mentioned before, I strongly encourage her to take the £2,000 job. I’m also very open to look into finding a replacement for her position—she could earn 1.5-2 million every month with that option.
Signing out.
A career working with council earns more than that. If I should break it down, she is going to end up in those anyhow units. 2k for a month as a nurse. That's a joke.
In fact, a career that did few overtime earn what some band 6 nurses earn in nhs especially those working with the council.

Nurses are fleeing cos pay is very low. Drs is even worst.

I will take the NHS job offer, 5m is a lot of money yes but Nigeria has no value system and the economy is very unstable .

Take this as a five years project and the family will be settled, someone has to do night shift to make this work.

A nurse in an oil company has loads of untapped possibilities outside Nigeria courtesy of the oil company. She is better of with the oil company.

How much is nhs offering her?
Depending on the department, she might not start off well. And cos it's a contract, she will stay in that department for 5 yrs b4 thinking of changing.
Also, nhs always look for nurses that will work in units where home nurses run away from cos of pin problems and court cases. As a jjc, she don't know the system and the bottlenecks therein. Most start off and end up with private companies or agencies. E get why.
Unless there is no offer like what she had, she can go for nhs.
Working in oil company, she also has access to free medicals for all her house members invluding servants as long as they are registered under her and free schools for her kids. The kids can school anywhere in the world courtesy of the help and connections of the oil company for tertiary education. She wanna relocate her family, she will be helped from buying house to settling down for her family
She want to work in Canada or wherever tomorrow, it's easy. And she is sure of promotion.
You can be in band 5 for10 yrs receiving peanuts.
Nigeria is bad yet loads of people are still surviving there.

I can see that many people here do not actually know what one gains while working with major oil companies in Nigeria.
