Even though I pay my taxes, I am happier the coverage will be widespread now; those who had not found reason to speak against bad governance before, will find a reason to; when they consciously file taxes from their income.
In addition, we will see those who will eventually go in for evasion and what they represent; then it will be clear the reason why everyone is positioning wherever they are.
That being said, the record keeping still begs a lot. I noticed some discrepancies in the amount recorded for me on the portal as the annual total and the actual amount I paid; I have email proofs of the actual amounts paid.
If opportunities for redress exists, why not pursue that instead? It is way cheaper than hiring demolition experts for something that they can later realign.
Let's wait and see what Lagos State Government will do with the demolished property site now. That will lay this dance of shame paid sycophants are displaying here, to bed.
JuanDeDios: No. You, sir, have poor comprehension skills. If you call me a thief and I come out to say I'm not a thief, I have DENIED it. Period. That is the right word in this context.
Debunk has a restrictive use - for example, if you show the public a phone and say I stole it, and I later show PROOF that the phone actually belonged to me. That is when the press will say I have debunked your allegation. A mere denial of an allegation, like Mr Hundeyin did, does not call for the word "debunk".
Lol.. Ignorance is bliss. You must have assumed you're speaking to a novice in the use of English.
Yesterday, social media went agog with claims that the seasoned Nigerian investigative journalist, David Hundeyin, has abandoned the Obidient Movement after he expressed his disagreement with a view point of a popular Obidient.
He took it upon himself to clear the air, confirming he is still on board with the Obidient Movement idea.
On Sunday at 4:30 PM, David Hundeyin quoted a new source with the false claim and put out the clarification:
"You people want this nonsense to be true so badly that even TVC News reported it, as if an opinion I tweeted is national news.
For the record, offering criticism to a movement is not the same as "distancing myself" from it.
Not all of us can be followers of drug pushers who treat their political affiliations like cult membership.
I think parents are overdoing it. Some now even lie and present forged results to help their children skip classes when they move to another school. That is just outrightly pathetic.
Parents can by all means, groom their geniuses specially and outside the school system, but within the walls of the school, they need to conform to the required standard.
By default, no learner less than 6 years before the conclusion of Primary 1 should be admitted into Primary school, and so on. Special kids must pass the school's set examinations for the required academic level to gain a spot.
In return, the government should consider these age requirements and ensure that labour laws do not put graduates at an age disadvantage as well.
This is super commendable if it is real. Green energy is the way to go.
Let me sha go to X to confirm this. As usual, first thing I always do is to run an image search and I found a picture from June 24 that looks like this from another angle (perhaps they managed the project) 😁
You know this government and propaganda go hand in hand.
An APC supporter shared a screenshot of his payment receipt as obtained from his bank. He wanted to give legitimacy to the claim that he received the cash transfer.
However, he possibly forgot that you need to be smart to lie successfully.
APCNig: Which precedent are you talking about? The one Obasanjo and Atiku laid when they illegally removed four state governors or which other precedent?
Just like Wike, I am certain you didn't know when you owned up to this either.
Lanretoye: don’t forget to provide a prove that this video was made when trump was president
Proof: This video was from just 5 months ago at the Fighting Oligarchy rally in Nampa, on April 14, 2025; 5 months after Donald Trump became President of U.S.A.
A simple Google search would have revealed this but then, the apple does not fall far from the tree.
Again, this is not an isolated incident. There are many instances of this all over social media. A simple Google search would have revealed that too.
Pakute: “No matter how you see people criticise Trump, have you ever seen any American citizen on social media, or in the public, say our President is a criminal? Have you heard that?
Here is a video of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez calling Donald Trump a criminal.
Well, coming from the stables of those who cheered Buhari for 8 years, only to spite him to enthrone one of his pillars as a solution, I'm not the least bit surprised by this dance of shame.
A U.S.A athlete and A Nigerian Athlete took turn to unbox the contents of the Olympic Kits they received from their home countries ahead of the 2025 tournament.
From my experience in the private sector, it is for their own good that they are in a union.
However, as a company, Dangote is out to make profit and if unionship of her employees is a direct threat to that, she has her right to stand against it.
They service a critical sector of the economy that MUST not be threatened unnecessarily.
STATEMENT ON THE NIGERIAN POLICE DENIAL OF THE EVENTS OF LAST SATURDAY
When Institutions Deny the Truth, They Undermine Democracy.
On Saturday, I had the honour of representing His Excellency Peter Obi at the declaration event of Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Alimosho, Lagos. It was in that capacity that I personally witnessed the sequence of events that the Lagos State Police Command has now sought to deny in its official statement.
I am making this statement because I cannot, in good conscience, watch these denials unfold and remain silent. Silence in the face of falsehood only strengthens impunity — and I owe it to the truth, to our democracy, and to the Nigerian people to speak plainly and truthfully.
Sadly, this kind of denial is not new in Nigeria. We all remember the aftermath of the EndSARS protests, when the massacre at the Lekki Toll Gate was first flatly denied, only for the truth to gradually come out. The echoes of that painful history cannot be ignored today.
The Lagos Police Command claims neutrality, but my direct experience and that of many others raise burning questions that demand urgent answers:
📌 (1) If the Police were truly neutral, why did they cordon off the field that GRV had paid for since Thursday, only to permit and protect the APC to use the same field on Saturday?
📌 (2) If the Police Commissioner, CP Olohunde Moshood Jimoh, was truly acting in good faith, why did he summon GRV regarding the field usage, only to then refuse to see him, ignore his calls, and fail to respond to his messages up till now?
📌 (3) When citizens were attacked at the church premises, which was booked as an alternative venue, why did the Police prevent us from entering to rescue our people, insisting no one was inside — when in fact victims were still trapped?
The Command says no complaints were lodged. But in the circumstances, who would willingly go to report to a Police authority that had already demonstrated bias, sealed off venues, and shielded one political party while obstructing the other?
The Lagos Police owes Nigerians more than blanket denials. It owes us truth, accountability, and proof of neutrality in action — not just in words.
As I said in my speech during the declaration:
“No matter how long it takes, good always outlives and triumphs over evil.”
Now, let me add this warning: the Nigeria Police Force, INEC, the National Assembly, and the President himself must act — and act fast — to ensure that our democratic institutions do their jobs in the protection of democracy, as they should.
If citizens lose faith in these institutions, the end result will not be resignation but desperation. And if that desperation unravels the fabric of our nation, history will record that it happened on their watch.
Nigeria cannot afford that path. The time to restore credibility to our institutions is now.
