Forbes names Lagos third worst city to drive in globally

Lagos State has been named the third worst city for drivers in the world, with 60 per cent congestion and 10.70mph average speed. Lagos was ranked third next to Karachi, Pakistan: 59 per cent congestion, 11.20mph average speed and Kolkata, with India topping the list.

The website states that the list was arrived at after considering the following: an analysis of local congestion levels, an average cost of parking and fuel, average roadway speeds, air pollution levels, number of traffic injuries, and road quality.

Also considered ­– and what should seem like a no-brainer to international travellers – is the frequency and perception of road rage. In the analysis of 100 international cities, Lagos is the only city in Africa that appeared on the list.

Simi’s Album ‘Simisola’ Tops Five On Billboard World Music Charts.

Singer and songwriter, Simisola Bolatito Ogunleye, popularly known as Simi is celebrating another landmark as her Album ‘Simisola’ Tops five On Billboard World Music Charts. The album which dropped a few weeks back is leading the iTunes and Apple Music charts.

Simi took to her Instagram page today and shared the good news, also thanking her fans who she calls ‘SimiArmy’.

She wrote: YOOOOOOO GUYS!!! ��� We charted No. 5 on Billboard World Music Charts. #SIMISOLA I think I’m gonna cry…but before then, I gotta say Thank You #SIMIARMY! This is OUR album. But most of alllll, THANK YOU JESUS. Rahhhh! PS: We're No. 1 on iTunes and Apple Music. Maaaan God is good. It's beautiful to watch.

Chelsea being investigated by FIFA over youth transfer policy..

FIFA is investigating Chelsea for the third time in eight years over a potential breach of young player regulations.

FIFA responded this afternoon to questions about media reports regarding Chelsea signing foreign players under the age of 18.

"We can confirm that an investigation is ongoing," FIFA said in an email.

"We cannot provide any details concerning the matters under investigation."

FIFA rules prohibit the international transfer of players under the age of 18 unless their parents have emigrated for reasons not connected to football or both the player and club are based within 50 kilometres of a national border.

The only other exception is for transfers within either the European Union or European Economic Area (EEA), where the minimum age is 16.

In those cases, clubs must still ensure that the player continues his education and studies for an alternative career, as well as making sure he has a high living standard.

A Chelsea spokesman told British media that the club complies with all FIFA statutes and regulations when recruiting players.

Nnamdi Kanu May Have Been Killed By Millitary




Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, may have been abducted by military operatives on September 14 and probably killed this is according to his lawyer Ifeanyi Ejiofor.

Ejiofor made the insinuations in a statement on Tuesday as a counter claim to the allegations that Kanu has gone into hiding.

The statement reads in part: “I have no doubt whatsoever that stories making round that my Client has fled outside Nigeria, were planted to divert attention from their murderous raid on my client’s house.

“I made last contact with my client few minutes into the bloody onslaught in his home on the 14th day of September 2017. Till date, I have not established further communication with him.

“The soldiers must have made possible contact with him on this 14th day of September 2017, when they invaded his house on a bloody raid, and by virtue of which position, they should tell the world if he was caught by fire of bullets in the hit of the bloody onslaught or he was arrested alive.

“In all probability, my client may have been killed by the invading soldiers who are now seeking ways to fool the world into believing that he has left the country. My request is that the military should produce my client wherever they kept him and stop diverting attention of the public,” Ejiofor said.

IPOB: Jonathan condemns deployment of soldiers, slams Lai Mohammed

Former President Goodluck Jonathan has criticised his successor, President Muhammadu Buhari, for planning to extend the military show of force to the South-South and the South-West.

The former President was emboldened by the statement by Senate President Bukola Saraki who had said the military had no right to declare the Indigenous People of Biafra as a terror group.

Jonathan also lambasted the Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, for saying the activities of IPOB started because he lost the 2015 election. Mohammed had said looters and disgruntled elements in the opposition were the chief sponsors of IPOB.
