@ProMe11..i appreciate your insight brov.thankxx....I actually studied Geophysics..before the whole brouhaha happened with my school..and i taught in a school as some point, worked in a high end restuarant for some time, but since 2008 been working professionally in broadcast television as an editor, cameraman and broadcast technician(master control)...AND the course im going for is Industrial Control technology, which has elements of electrical engineering in it..its a 2year diploma..I wanna change my career path.....As for my year 1and2 transcript, will it be possible to obtain it from my university being that i was expelled?dunno abt the possibility cos v never tried to....or do u think i can skip this part totally in my sop and still make a good case....like dont mention i ever went thriugh the four walls of a uni... It seems ur d only with interest in my case...i appreciate.... |
@chicoboy.....congratulations on your trv.really happy for you brov......please can you email me a copy of your SOP so i can use as a guide in constructiing mine....I finished high school in 1999...i'm above 30, and i'm going for a 2year diploma program..so i think il have a lot of explanation to do with regards to the long gap in my education..I think the SOP is gonna be key for me..PLEASE i'll be really grateful..God bless my email is dzone4life@yahoo.com |
@ProMe11, thanks for ur suggestions..but I'm thinking, if i submit my year1 and year2 transcripts, wont the VO be curious to know why i didnt complete my studies...? |
Hi peeps...i wanna say thumbs up to u guys for sharing all your experiences so far....its been really helpfull...I have a very perculiar case, perculiar in the sense that, i havent seen anyone with my kinda situation so far..Ill be 34years old by july 6th,but i look much younger than my age..26/27,i finished high school 1999. So i just got admitted to New brunswick community college to do a diploma course in Industrial Control Technology,...My major worry NOW is how to explain to the VOA the long gap between when i finished high school and now 2016.. ALMOST 17years now...I presently work in the broadcast media/tv industry though..I have been through the university, I graduated in 2007,but had an extra year, was involved in exam malpractice during my extra year and was expelled...i appealed countless times but nothing came out of it cos i knew no one....I started working in 2008 eventually, and ive been working since then.... Please guys...my major issue now is...is it advisable to state that i was expelled while in the university when talking about what ive been upto all this past 17 years in my SOP?, will this affect the outcome of my application negatively?will the VO deny me based on this fact OR should i not mention it at all?...Please guys...il appreciate your suggestions and advice please....This is really troubling me |
Hi guys..I'm 33years old..have just a high school diploma obtained in 2000, ,been working in the broadcast television industry for 7years now...But i wanna apply for a 2year diploma program in either Mechanical Engineering Technology,,Welding Technology OR Resource drilling/ Blasting techniques at a college in New Brunswick AND Ontario Canada respectively starting Sept 2016 and by then i would be 34....still deciding which to apply to,, considering the cost implication..Resource drilling is in Ontario, and cost 6k plus per semester...while the other is in New Brunswick and cost 3,150k per semester.. It has always been my desire to go back to school, and considering my age, i cant go do a 4 or 5year course anymore cause of the length, thats why i am opting for something hands-on, technical and short..And another reason is that i intend going to work in the middle-east oil industry after i complete my program, in other words, i'm changing careers..My source of funding would be partly from me, and my Dad would help me with the bank statements and all relevant documents, but i am saving towards offsetting a semester tuition fees atleast... My major concern is i dont know if my age, present level of education(SSCE)and the long gap in between is gonna affect my chances of being granted the TRV.....? Its really giving me headache....all i want is the quality that comes with a Canadian post-secondary qualification and the doors it will open for me internationally.. Please i know most folks in these forums always inquire about post graduate courses,, but after spending about 6hours going thru all the post, i felt compelled to register and also put forward my case, hopefully someone out there would relate with my situation and give me some words of advice......looking forward to hearing everyone |
