Unit 1: French Alphabet/ L'alphabet français pronounce(la-fah-beh-fran-ceh) Just like English Language, French Language has the same alphabet though with different pronounciation. English has twenty one consonants and five vowels, French has twenty consonants and six vowels because letter "y" in french is considered a vowel. It is important to note that some letters in french are less common than in English....Such letters include "K" and "W" and some vowels in french take accents (à, é, ï, ô, ù etc....) |

Hi friends, this is an opportunity to study French. French is one of the most spoken and popular language in the world after English . Speaking English and French therefore gives one special advantage. French is generally known as romantic language because of its romantic nature. It is a language for education, travel, business, tourism, arts, science and technology etc... I will break it down in a way beginners will understand... You are free to ask question, if you don't understand any section... 1 Like |

Profmaojo: Bonjour , Salut. Je m'appelle monsieur Matthew, je suis étudianté, j'habite nigerienne,je suis très bién,comment cava? Tu vien d'ou? Je suis désolé, je mangez ricé. Tout le fride. Parlez pas francaise? Can u speak french. Je pas parlez francaise trés bién, vous étés dolé..wat is ici and write in french thanks a lot. Bonjour profmaojo, ça va? 1. ici prononce as "i-ci" (the lettre "i" is not prononce as "item" but "is"....I mean the first letter or the Word) meaning "Here"... 2. Note: there are different between étudiante and étudiant. Pls always take note of the signs...there are called accent pronounce "acen" in french. étudiante...pronouce as "eh_tu-diant" meaning a female student étudiant .....pronouce as "eh-tu-dian" meaning a male student. (it is called masculine and feminine) "c'est très important".....pronouce as "ceh-tre-han-por-tan" meaning "it is very important" 3. nigerienne means a female Citizen of Niger not Nigeria.. there are different between nigerienne and nigerianne the first is a female Citizen of Niger, the second is a female Citizen of our country Nigeria. Whereas Males are Nigerien and Nigerian respectively that is a male citizen of Niger and Nigeria. Bravo madame justi..... merci à tous A plus tard 3 Likes |

Permettez-moi Madame Justi....S'il vous plaît ....merci beaucoup. Cheeun: I'm in to learn! Bienvenue Cheeun...meaning welcome Cheeun.. prononce "bien-ve-nue" Comment va tu? or comment allez vous?? meaning "how are you"? The first prononce as "coma va tu? the second prononce like " coma ta le vu" mostly d last letters in french are not always prononced except few.. the first one (comment va tu?) is for those u re close to, ur pals etc whereas d second (comment allez vous?) is the polite way...dats people u don't really know n You want to show them respect....or your boss, your teacher etc....or a group of people....(maybe You want to greet two or more people at once) the pural form. Therefore your answer will be:: "oui ça va" meaning "yes I am alright" prononce "wi sa vah" Or "je vais bien"...prononce " jeo veh bien" meaning "i am fine"..if u translate it one by one...dat will be "i am going well"...meaning the same thing...but go with "I am fyn" Note: "ça va" can be both " are u alright" or "i am fyn".... it depends on your voice. ça va? with question mark(?) prononce like "sah vah?" means "are u alright?". "ça va" without question mark(?) is prononce like "sah vah" meaning " i am fyn" Also note that: Letter "C" WITH cedila dats "Ç " is prononce as "S" but Letter "C" WITHOUT cedila dats "C" is prononce as "K" (that sign under Letter C is called Cedila). Merci beaucoup madame Justi... 3 Likes |
