Have you considered the scenario that you may be full of so much self pity that you might be missing the things that are important to your partner? From what i know, Doctor's have a very stressful work environment and long hours. Anyways, i would say this, before you do anything drastic as to end a relationship with someone who you truly love, find out what you might be doing wrong from your end and use that as a bargaining tool for him fixing his end. The thing is, you have to be right on with whatever your faults may be. (All this is under the assumption that he is not a very communicative individual)
