temitopeadeyemo: . The fact that you took the time to research this shows how tribalised you are yourself. I can show you a thousand and one tribes or ethnic groups (including the Yorubas)who feel they are better than others in this world today. Show me a thousand tribalised Igbo people and I will equally show you a thousand tribalised Yorubas. Show me a hundred de-tribalised Yorubas and I will point out to you an equal amount of de-tribalised Igbos. So you start your obviously biased write up by trying to give the impression that Yorubas are not tribalistic, giving yourself as an example, while Igbos are tribalistic, giving a so called brothers and sisters as examples. You spend more time worrying about the tribalists amongst the Igbos than you do about the ones in your midst, that really shows how de-tribalised you are? Rubbish. I naturally ignore tribal rants and arguments by most of these guys on NL, but I just had to come in here for you cause unlike these guys, who come out straight with their stance, you are simply a pretender and a hypocrite. I hate hypocrites far more than any kind in this world. |

medar: This is how you know who really has the interest of Nigeria at heart. GMB means business. when he should be resting and celebrating his victory at the polls, he chose to start building the structures to work on. He's already working tirelessly underground so that he would start on a full acceleration come May 29th. I know many haters would call it "parallel govt" but I want you to remember that this Adesina is a member of the PDP and part of the GEJ govt. Instead of baba to witch hunt him like the PDP goons would have done to an opposition, he chose to support him in the interest of Nigeria. what does the bolded statement mean in Nigerian politics of today? |
Culture › Re: The Fattening Rooms Of The Efik by dewstar: 5:21pm On May 02, 2015 |
ApexTitan: Efik men probably had a fetish for BBW back in the days past. That fetish probably must have waned after the marriage aged and excitement of the wedding had waned. By then the realities of a fat wife would have started hitting home, the shortness of breath, the constant sweating(especially in those days without electricity or air conditioners) and the aura of unattractiveness that usually accompanies overweight people would have taken their toll the man's libido.
He must have compensated by over working his imagination, wondering what the supple women of other tribes must feel like, heck he must have considered the young maidens in his land, the ones who weren't eligible yet for the fattening rooms. Ah, to be with a woman whose weight didn't get in the way of the indulgence of this very primal urge... These thoughts must have crossed his mind. Alas he was stuck in a society that had directed that overweight women were desirable, how dare he break free. The women would not allow it, they had successfully turned a condition that ordinarily should have counted against them into an advantage - by being fat they (according to custom) still had some currency in the attraction marketplace. Afterall wasn't it the man that said he wanted big booty?
The Efik man of today must really be thankful for evolving customs. Evolving culture that also pushes you to a corner that directs that thin women are the true example of a beautiful woman. |

I've always loved big women. I won't call it fat, a rounded figure it is.
Most fat 'white' women are not a good sight to look at, so that is an exception for me.
I do not admire lekper(thin) girls and there is nothing physically beautiful about Abdgani Darego apart from her face. Team BBW. |

20pounds: This is just the truth!
Buhari Presidency is a product of propaganda and I wait to see him sustain his government with propaganda. The core north wanted one of their own to take back 'their' power. The person was Buhari. Tinubu keyed into the plan out of his own design to pull the rug from their feet when the time comes. He supplied the propaganda machinery in the south west, the Imams finished the job for him in the north. The rest is history as both partied had gotten what they wanted.
Sit back and watch the unfolding drama. It is a shame that when we want to make progress as a country, an event will take us back to where we started from.
President Jonathan has done his bit to Nigeria. He is not a saint and has his failings as man but history is going to and have started judging him rightly.
God bless Nigeria! Tinubu keyed in out of a selfish and myopic ambition. |

ideykwum: Ben Bruce hit the nail on the head! There is a vibrant reality that ushers idealism out of the window! One of such realities is the fact that Nigeria is limited in resource spread! Another is that running costs must be compressed to reasonable limits! Anything short of that would be disastrous!
However, if the above is not handled well, it would be political harakiri for Buhari. Where I disagree with Ben Bruce is that Nigerians by the very same rabble rousing nature and a natural desire not to bite their words, will endeavour to give Buhari a lot of understanding, and it will take a lot of debacle to start any murmuring!! It won't be because Buhari is efficient, rather it would be because he has literally been deified and is the choice of the owners of media houses! You are quite right, deified people tend to have the luxury of being given more rope. I mean take a look at Jesus, 2000yrs gone past and people are still believing he is coming soon. |
