Miss World began in Indonesia Sunday amid tight security after days of Muslim hardline protests that forced authorities to order the whole beauty pageant be held on the Hindu-majority island of Bali.

As contestants took part in a glittering opening ceremony on the resort island, around 100 police, including some armed with rifles, patrolled around the building where the contest was being held.

The Minister of Education, Prof Ruqayyat Rufai, announced this in Abuja on Wednesday while briefing State House Correspondents on the outcome of the weekly FEC meeting. He addressed journalists in company with her counterpart in the Health and Environment ministries, Onyebuchi Chukwu and Hadza Mailafia, respectively.

Rufai said the decision of the meeting, which was presided over by President Goodluck Jonathan, was to “give effect to the revised convention of WAEC, 2003 in Nigeria.”

A lot of things lasted longer than Kim Kardashian’s publicity stunt marriage to Kris Humphries, but one of those things certainly wasn’t her mom, Kris Jenner’s, new talk show which has reportedly been canceled after only six weeks on the air.
According to RadarOnline, Jenner was told by FOX executives, “There is no chance the talk show is going to get a green light from FOX. The ratings were averaging an abysmal 0.8 and advertisers were less than enthusiastic about it.”

Despite Jenner pulling in big numbers by having her daughter’s famous boyfriend, Kanye West, on her show and debuting pictures of her already famous granddaughter, North West, her efforts just were not enough to keep her show alive.
“Kris did get a ratings bump for her last show when Kanye West revealed the first baby pic of daughter, North West, with Kim, but that was a one time shot in the arm and it wouldn’t be indicative of what the ratings trend would be.”
