I am about to apply for a study visa and will like to know if the application will be done at VFS or at the South African embassy? Secondly, will it be required that a repatriation fee be paid? if yes? How much will be paid?

1. South African Embassy attends to study Visa and not VSF; kindly go to south African embassy.

Yes you can go; it took me 10 working days to get mine in Lagos. Gbam.....

Can we now withdraw from south africa atm with our Nigeria cards?

2. Please I want to know if it is good for me to convert my naira to dollar here in Nigeria and latter change it from dollar to rand when i get to the republic.

3. And what is the maximum rand some one can carry along when travelling that the law enforcement will allow?

please does the embassy receive printed copy of the south african police clearance, i was sent back today cz i dint have on and so far the clearance hasnt bn posted yet. but if i can get it befoe next week tuesday, can i get it scaned n printed? would it be accpeted? please anyone tht knows should please reply. its urgent

it wont cost you much to obtain police report at Ikoyi Alagbon... it just 5000naira..

Pls house the visa application document request for proof of qualification and i have my first degree certificate but i only have statement of results for my master degree because my certificate is not yet ready and i want to apply for visa application can i put the statement of result their?

Well their is no need if you have not gotten your certificate.. statement of result is allowed... you can put your statement of result there...

MMIA means Murtala mohd International airport in Lagos. Well that is if you intend leaving for SA thru Lagos. Its true. They are experiencing major backlogs at the embassies. If your school can get in contact with home affairs directly that wud be good.
But like I said you need to pray after submitting ur application.

I was at The Embassy today and some applicants were screened out due to the fact that their bank statement was below 50,000 rands.

and they were told to come back next week

Also make sure you have a particular form that is been used by the embassy because most often time they accept the forms they gave out during applicants enquirers.... well you may be lucky...


Ensure that your programme has date of likely completion.

Can applicant use two different sponsors bank statement for visa application? A situation where two parties are ready to use their bank statement for a particular visa applicant ( study visa).

I need a format of letter of self introduction for a friend who needed study visa... So Urgent please..

Woww; this is a serious issue.. Nothing can be done without your school's reply to the mail. Why don't you find a means at letting her understand that it just to confirm that you graduated from the institution..

Please share your experience with them if you have fly with them before.

sure you asked for cheap or cheapest flight? and you should be able to endure.. because most time you need to be full of endurance in flying cheap flight. And you might not be able to compare convenience / less delay you may have in higher paid flight to lower paid flight.

@ muhaogunlo pls when such issue of saqa saying they have sent mail down to ur institution and ur institution is saying no message was receive from saqa pls give me d steps u take to get d issue resolved. i hv sent series of mail to saqa even given series of calls they said dey will send d verification again but they never send. pls hw can i tell my school registrar to send mail to saqa when she never receive any mail from them pls give me ur steps to follow

@Segzy201 why all this headache you causing for your self sure you saw/read the solution I gave you... That was the exact step I took when I was faced with that challenge. I wished someone told me... But it took me months to take such step.. Go to your registrar/academic office tomorrow morning tell them you want them to sent an email to saqa telling saqa that your certificate is indeed an authentic one.. Follow the comment I made on your question and see if their would not be a speedy solution.

I intend to use the south africa visa i got during xtmas this febuary. Please which of the airline is very cheap and moreso which city is best to visit. I intend spend 4 or 5 days over there and come back.

You can tell someone in SA to scan it clearly and send it to you via email, then you will print it in coloured in Nigeria. Its safer that way though they don't usually ask for it, it's the original of the SAQA that they always want to sight.

Thanks Broo. How about using my SAQA evaluation certificate that was scanned and sent to me via email? This one that you said original saqa? Because I only have the printed copy with me.

It so simple Broo just get your school to write a letter of "To Whom It May Concern" addreesing it to SAQA.. Stating that u graduated from that institution and that ur certificate or statement of result is genuine using any of this options..... Your school as sender of the email OR With your school envelope and stamp; then send it to saqa via any courier using ur school as the sender. Sure you will get saqa evaluation certificate without delay.

Hello, want to know if i can present South Africa bank statement of a relative based in SA to SA embassy here in Nigeria for my study visa?

please i need a quick response. My original statement of result is in SA and i currently have the certified copy with me in Nigeria. Hope they wont ask for the original before collecting the certified copy for my application for study permit? Thanks
