NiDCOM said she was trafficked to Iraq by one Alhaja Shakira in 2024 who promised her a job as a domestic help in Iraq.

The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) said Eniola Isaac, a 28-year-old Nigerian woman who was trafficked to Iraq is set to return to Nigeria.

"Eniola Isaac, a 28-year-old trafficked Nigerian girl in Iraq, is expected to return to Nigeria January 3rd with the intervention of the officials of the Nigerian mission in Jordan, that oversees Iraq,” NiDCOM said on social media.

NiDCOM said she was trafficked to Iraq by one Alhaja Shakira in 2024 who promised her a job as a domestic help in Iraq.

She faced an ugly turn of events when she arrived in the Middle-Eastern country. Eniola revealed she was subjected to inhumane conditions and made to work 20 hours daily, NiDCOM said.

“Aside from this, she also had to endure physical and emotional torture from her employers, Soba Akram and his wife

"The couple would use tasers and real rods to inflict harm on her. They were also reported to have seized her phones, international passport, personal belongings and prevented her from speaking about the conditions she was subjected to to her family.

“Through the Hopes Haven Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), her family were able to locate her whereabouts.”

The commission added that it was also investigating the death of a Nigerian who was killed in Iraq while working there.

“Another case of a Nigerian who went to work in Iraq as a carer and was killed in suspicious circumstances is also being investigated. The Nigerian government has demanded an autopsy as to the cause of death of the victim.”

Despite that the family of retired civil servant Mallam Yakubu Dada were forced to sell everything they owned—including their house, cars, and furniture—to raise the N10 million initially demanded by his kidnappers, Dada and his wife, Lami, remain in captivity.

The two were abducted on October 31, 2024, along the Kontagora-Tegina Road. Now, the abductors have demanded an additional N60 million and 10 motorcycles, which the family are unable to meet.

"As we celebrate the New Year in peace, let us not forget that many residents of Niger State remain in captivity, with their families losing hope of their return," Comrade Lanre Sadiq, a journalist with Eagle Online on his Facebook page on Thursday.

The abduction of Dada and his wife has put immense financial and emotional strain on the family. Dada’s two other wives, Maimuna and Aisha, have struggled to raise the initial ransom amount, relying on the sale of their home and contributions from friends, Daily Trust earlier reported.

Maimuna, Dada’s eldest wife, described the immense hardship.

“Our husband is a retired civil servant but works as an ad hoc staff with the World Health Organisation. He was kidnapped on a Thursday, and the abductors demanded N100 million.

“But we negotiated and begged for weeks before they agreed to accept N10 million,” Maimuna said.

“We sold everything we had, including our home, cars, and valuables, and even borrowed money from friends.”

The payment of N10 million, however, did not result in their release. Instead, the kidnappers raised the ransom to N60 million and demanded 10 motorcycles.

“We haven’t been able to raise the N60 million. The house we sold is now owned by someone else, and they’ve given us a three-month notice to vacate,” Maimuna continued.

"We can't even feed ourselves. My children missed their exams because we couldn’t pay their school fees."

The emotional toll on the family is compounded by uncertainty. Maimuna expressed concern over the health of Lami, who suffers from diabetes.

“The last time my husband spoke to us, he begged us to raise the N60 million and motorcycles, even if we had to beg around. He told us not to let them kill him,” she said.

The community has stepped in to support the family, but they are struggling to cope. Umar Haliru, a neighbour, shared how difficult it has been to witness their suffering.

“The family has been through so much. The children couldn’t take their exams, and they don’t know when their father and wife will return.”

Meanwhile, the situation in other parts of the state is equally dire. Twenty-three women from Allawa in Shiroro Local Government Area have been in captivity since February 2024, as their families are unable to pay the ransom.

Mallam Musa Allawa, a local resident, revealed that the kidnappers are demanding three motorcycles for each of the women.

“The women who were released earlier have been exploited. They had to do domestic chores and work on the kidnappers' farms,” Allawa said.

Efforts made by SaharaReporters to reach the state police command for comments and updates on the abductions failed as its spokesman, Wasiu Abiodun, did not answer calls to his mobile line. He also did not reply to a message sent to him.

A suspect accused of a deadly terrorist attack on New Year's Day in New Orleans has been identified.

The FBI has identified the suspect accused of carrying out the attack as Shamsud Din Jabbar, 42, a U.S. citizen of Texas.

Jabbar was driving a Ford pickup truck, which the FBI says appears to be rented and they are working to confirm how he came into possession of the truck.

An ISIS flag was located in the truck and the FBI is working to determine if the suspect had associations or affiliations with the terrorist organization.

According to the FBI, Jabbar drove a pickup truck into the crowd, killing at least 15 people and injuring dozens.

The FBI says after hitting the crowd, he got out of the car and began firing at law enforcement. Shots were returned by law enforcement and Jabbar was killed at the scene.

Weapons and potential IEDs were located in the truck.

Authorities called the French Quarter attack that killed at least 15 people and injured at least 30 others an act of terrorism.

According to City Council President Helena Moreno, Jabbar was not local.

It is unclear if Jabbar was staying in New Orleans, but he may have been linked to an Air BNB in the St. Roch area.

The earlier book is harder to preserve and there would be several copyists errors in it.

And no single person has ever memorized the Bible in any of its original language. The Qur'an is being preserved by memory since about 1500 years ago till today!

It's clear today when a book is written you'll see a second/revised edition later! And there could be a second or third revised edition!

Also look at the Bible versions! There are about 40 versions of the Bible translations. Some have 66 books, a few 73. Few others differences also exists where some verses or chapters are removed in some while present in others. In some, the said chapters/verses maybe used as footnotes!

The chapter you quoted is a very common verse used to claim Jesus is what he is not. The context of the verse actually refers to another person, "To us a child is born". Who is the "us"? The so-called prophecy does not mention any Jesus nor was Jesus called by any of those name on earth! Even Jesus didn't fulfil any of those prophecies.

Christian usually use the new testament to read into the old testament what the Jews never saw in it. And then they claim it was the holy spirit guiding them.
