malali: Unfortunately, thats the price for AI and all these things. If you notice, some billionaires use only old phones, that can only make and receive phone calls. Any phone you cannot remove the battery easily.....Is spying on you. I know.... and I am planning adjustments to protect my privacy. I am also into tech, so I know how it works. |

The algorithms are so good, it can suggest things based off conversation with other people, who are close to you. But, it is intrusive, don't you think so. I am going back to very old mobile phones. |

malali: It’s funny, isn’t it? Millions line up like it’s a Black Friday survival game… To drop $1,000 on a sleek black mirror — called an iPhone.
But few stop to consider what they’ve just bought. Not a phone. A personal surveillance device with a SIM card.
You know what’s wild? With just your IMEI number, a drone — a fully autonomous, kill-capable UAV — can be programmed to seek you out from miles away. Not just find you, but assassinate you. No humans involved. Just code, satellites, and your device. Sci-fi? No. Look up what DARPA and Palantir are capable of.
Now, think of this: You’re on the bus yesterday, talking to a friend about sneakers. Nothing serious, just banter. Today, you log into your friend’s laptop and — boom! Ads for Nike, Yeezy, and New Balance flood your browser like spam in 2005. Coincidence? Or algorithmic clairvoyance?
Your phone isn’t just listening. It’s learning. It’s profiling. It’s calculating the value of your attention and selling it before you even blink. The mic is always on. The GPS never really off. And your “smart assistant”? She doesn’t work for you — she works for the cloud. Correct. This one also exists, but my post is about the devices. Later i would write about the networks and algorithms. Buy you are very correct. |

malali: Its an algorithm, they can now use your network, lets say you talk to your wife and she is planning to buy you PS5 for your birthday. And you never discussed it with her, but she goes around to ask her co-workers where to get a good PS5. Although you are thinking about a PS5 and you never mentioned it or discussed it with your wife.......your browser will suggest it to you as well.
Your phone knows who your wife is by 1- How you talk to her on the phone. 2- Your phones connect to the same cell tower at night and it can approximate you are lying in the same bed together between the hours of 12am to 6 am in the morning on most nights. Yes, this one also exists, but my post is specifically about the devices, not the networks or algorithms. But you are correct, I know this. |

Are we learning anything from the Israel vs Iran war? Are we learning anything? Or we are just sipping burukutu in our offices. Are we learning from what is happening today? Do you know that many of the assassinations of Generals were enabled by the smartphone and other electronic devices. The targeted strikes against military Generals, political leaders, religious leaders, war commanders, scientists, etc., were enabled by the smartphones, apps, smartwatches, and any electronic devices they use and carry about. In today's world, no one is hidden anymore. Nobody is anonymous and nobody is safe. Everyone's location is known. At any point in time, your location is known, regardless of who you are, even Presidents. As long as you have a smartphone you carry about, you are just a target because the phone's chips and apps collect and feedback location data. So, your location is the location of your phone; and the tech company knows where you are right now. Each app does this, and even the chips inside the phones collect data, and feeds back to the company. Not only smartphones. Smartwatches, tablets, computers, washing machines, printers, ALL modern devices that have embedded systems and apps collect location data, including helicopters, jets, aircraft, military equipment, etc. But the smartphones and apps are the worst, because they are your current location, and you are known to be the owner of that phone, or computer. Your phone is your marker, and some bad companies provide this data to the killing machine in the Middle East. The next thing is that a missile falls on that exact location. Intelligence agencies should be warned, and they must develop systems to keep leaders safe in times of heightened tensions. Your president is on Twitter ,. And perhaps, he uses Whatsapp too . Those apps collect the location of the phone, which is the location of the owner/President, and that location data can be fed into a missile . People are just ignorant of many things, and it is unfortunate. |

Dogalmighty17: Not does not have an airforce. Certainly not a capable one. The attack on the Yelwata community in Benue state that killed over 200 people lasted for over 5 hours. The Nigerian airforce largest base, the tactical air command Makurdi, can be said to be just a stone throw away. A helicopter can fly from TAC and be in Yelwata in 5 minutes. Yet all these attacks go on and no air assets have been deployed.
That's not even embarrassing enough. The Nigerian army 72bn which is the home of paratroopers is 25 minutes drive away. Yet airborne insertions which they train for, was not available.
It is not out of place to say Nigerian armed forces are deliberately incompetent across board. It is shameful to say the least. That's why we should continue calling them out |

DiamondSword799: As a military enthusiast, it is my opinion that threat assessment should not apply to the Air Force. Threat assessment should not. Because the Air Force is an extended fighting arm at short notice. The air force is the very long defense arm of any nation, with response time of few minutes. Hence, the NAF should be developed to full all-round capability. Threat assessment shouldn't apply to them at all.
See what is happening all over the world. India vs Pakistan, Israel vs Iran, US vs Yemen, Russia vs Ukraine, etc. The NAF must be recalibrated to all round strength. Not the trash we currently have.
Know this,,, Navy or air attacks from 2000 miles away can only be repelled by the Air Force. Only the Air force can vector to such an attack. The Army, Navy and Air defenses would be helpless. And if you dont have a capable air force,, the entire military would be decapitated within 24 hours of war.
To the Nigerian Air Force. They are the weak link in the Nigerian military architecture. I have always known this. Their penchant for buying low end jets (M346), lack of air superiority fighters, lack of long range interceptors, bombers, refuelling tanker, AWACS, long range air-air missiles, long range anti-ship missiles, etc, is a thing of worry.
The NAF as presently constituted is a Shame for Nigeria's global and regional status . They lack the capability to defend Nigeria's against a first strike attack launched from 2000 miles away. With intelligence or news of an impending attack, the jets would already be in the sky doing patrols, sorties of patrols ready to vector to any threat, with air refuelling, plus AWACS providing far-beyond Intel.
M-TRACON is coming very late. We should have had it long ago, but it still need a potent Air Force to back it up.
The NAF lacks the reach, strength, numbers, expertise and capability to vector and stave off an air or naval attack from 2000 miles away. And, that shortcoming would see the death of service chiefs, top generals, etc, and the destruction of armoury, air bases, warships, radars & equipment, within the first 24hrs of an attack.
While you may argue that Nigeria faces no such threat.... True. But when such threat happens, you would NOT be able to build military capability at short notice. It takes over 10 years to acquire, train and develop air capabilities.
A new jets takes 3 years to build. Super Tucano took 7yrs to deliver. You would not be able to catch up whenever the threat comes. Big powers are currently fighting, no one would sell you jets now. Our NAF chiefs are very stupid. The NAF needs recalibration to meet contemporary threats, and specifically to develop capability to defend against long range attacks from air or sea. Post updated. Anyone with 5000 trained soldiers can take over Nigeria in 6 months
Years of promoting people based on nepotism and this people promoted based on nepotism then train the next set and leaders of the next set are selected from the poorly trained personal in a nepotistic manner again... And when this circle goes on for 50 years you have the Nigerian defence problem
From police to military to paramilitary.. Same story I agree with you on this. Let's hope for the best 👍 |
