CultureWhy Do People Say Men Shouldn't Wear Socks When On Native Attire? by diceman1(op): 9:06am On Jan 25, 2015
Why do people say men shouldn't wear socks when on native attire? Of course I mean with cover shoes and not Palm sandals.

Frankly I find the wearing of shoes without socks disgusting and irritable.

Is there any explanation or justification for this rule?

18. Let's call a spade a spade. These type are not polititician but mere crooks that are thinking about their pockets. Soldiers are dying every day. Don't mock them. They are really doing so much.
19. Sensational reporting. Be more factual
20. Norm. Has been happening since I was a kid.
21. Not true
22. Sad
23. Expose them. Play your part.
24. Good that it was exposed.
25. She's been removed if I recollect.
26. - 29. When you are aware of a virus, it means your anti virus is working. Before these things happened and nobody got to hear.
30. Scandal and Incompetence are not the same
31. NNPC bosses have been numerous under the same minister. Can't one of them take a stand? Nigerians don't want to lose wha tthey are enjoying that's why the keep shut.
32. Boko haram ahas the support of many Nigerians sorry to say.
33. Don't understand
34. What about it
35. Happens
36. Crooks trying to remain in power.

PoliticsRe: Why Wouldn't I Vote For "Gej" After All This Archivement? by diceman1: 8:02am On Nov 27, 2014
True. Nigeria seriously needs improved leadership. However don't be too sensational/emotional and sometimes misleading to pass the point. My take (strictly my opinion) on some of you points are:

1. It's called subsidy. That money was being squandered by some crooks. He is the first president that had the guts to stop subsidy.
2. We should move on from Kero to cheap gas in my opinion
3. Effects of subsidy
4. Same as 3
5. Privatization of NEPA. It is a good thing for us. Meanwhile NEPA were not embezzling the money before now.
6. Subsidy is one of the many reasons som individuals got stinking rich
7. Just like Odi, Tiv/Jukun and Sharia riots during OBJ and Militancy during Yaradua and Maitatsine, IleIfe/Modakeke during God knows who.
8. Sounds like a good thing to me considering the terrorism taking place around the world.
9. Don't doubt you. This is bad. Government agencies tasked to prevent this are fully involved and have no remorse.
10. As it is every where there is full fledged democracy be it Germany,US or UK.
11. Not sure which sacks you are. Referring to. At least ministers are being sacked.
12. I think there is less tolerance for cheating. Furthermore the intelligent nigerian don't want to teach because they want to get rich instead of sacrificing to teach younger generations. So it is the olodos that are unemployable that end up teaching
13. When was it much.
14. True. Democracy is expensive and many time corruptible. But some of these allegations are sensationalized.
15. Adobilivit
16. Adobilivit
17. Then how come Nigerians are traveling all around the world shopping. People are suffering. True but many are enjoying and pretending.
Nairaland GeneralHas Anyone Seen This Book? by diceman1(op): 7:27am On Nov 27, 2014
Sometime in 2010 billions of Naira were released for the publication of the book NIGERIA AT 50: A COMPENDIUM - The Official and Authoritative Book About Nigeria.by an unknown publishing firm

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4UQGiVXh5zs

I have been haunting for this book for years and am yet to see a copy. A few months after it was launched, copies were nowhere to be found.

Has anyone seen this book and does anyone have any details about the publishers or was it a fraud?

PoliticsWhat The ePolls/Votes Are Not Telling Us. by diceman1(op): 8:47pm On Oct 19, 2014
If there is one thing I have noticed from the so called ePolls on GMB or GEJ, it is that Nigerians are having candidates stuffed down their throats. One can't help by ask " of all the good, hardworking and honest Nigerians, is GMB and GEJ the only ones we an present for the highest seat in the country?" It just goes to show our political system is not allowing the assets choose their candidate of choice.

As such I want to add another dimension to the eVote as follows:

Click like if you don't want either GEJ or GMB come 2015. (i.e none of the above)

No one has rily answered ur question. Its not a matter of travelling out, as not everyone can afford to. Now to answer u in simple terms, it gets to a certain tym when the days seem longer and the night seem short. When d day seem longer @ times like 8pm, the sky will still be bright and d night will seem short cos when its 5am or there about the sky is bright. Whentyh we have shorter days and longer nIghts, the sky becomes dark early and @ tyms like 6am the sky is still dark making u think its still night. Capish? Dat simple
Capish ko catfish ni. Be like say you sef no even read di question. grin
PhonesRe: OPINION: The Network Providers And ISPs In Nigeria Are Very Mean by diceman1: 3:43pm On Oct 19, 2014
OP, I agree with you totally. I think ISPs in Nigeria are one of the most unpatriotic businessmen in the country. They shortchange you and never give you value for money. They can't be trusted as far as I am concerned. Nigeria has no business having slow internet or limited bandwidths considering the amount of infrastructure the country has in terms of submarine cables and fibre optic lines not to mention the demand that would set international companies toungues waging. Even free wifi spots in some selected places is beyond the governments capabilities. I suggest we do something about it....... Don't know what for now.

Or you could just google sunrise and sunset times for different places around the world. It cheaper.
Nairaland GeneralRe: Shorter Day, Longer Night? by diceman1: 11:05am On Oct 19, 2014
The answer lies in the fact that you have not travelled much. Go to Europe Australia and so many other parts of the world and you'll never doubt the phenomenon. The further you move from the equator, the more glaring the phenomenon. Even people in Places like Borno in Nigeria experience it to a greater degree that the southern parts of the country.

Pack your bags, see the world, expand you view.

PoliticsRe: When Men Were Men And Soldiers Don’t Run Away From Boko Haram! friendsofNijablog by diceman1:
Is that what you were told? Were you expecting our fathers to tell us they ran away during their time? Moreover, did you see soldiers running away from boko haram or is the press now your trusted source of information? The sins of some unpatriotic Nigerians should never be reason to drag the name of our military in the mud. Without them, there may have been no Nigeria to talk about in the first place. I support our troops. They are really going through a lot.

Sorry. I am not trying to sound harsh or criticize your post. I am only trying to appeal to those who believe what you meant.

This is great. I drove in Lagos a while back and my horn wasn't working. For two weeks I drove without a horn and it taught me how to drive defensively and be patient. I hate unnecessary horning now. Truth be told, this can work and should be promoted/ encouraged by all.
