I don't get, does the market not seem Nigerian enough? On the issue of the yellow filter, it's one of the many failings of Hollywood, they are used mainly when showing developing(read: poor) countries and are supposed to depict warm climates. It's a dangerous stereotype, & I honestly can't wait for it to die out.

Also the accent is annoyingly bad, mostly because a majority of the cast are black Africans, still I don't think that should be an acceptable excuse. All in all though, it's a series I thoroughly enjoy.

As Movie director myself yeah I think they did it in nigeria. Because some parts were shown . But the lady that acted abishola's mom didn't get the role right. She's african American her accent was just off

They really taking serious risks with these anime.
You forgot Avatar: The Last Airbender and One Punch Man.
The thing is, if they're remotely successful Netflix got its hands on Goldmine. Animé. No other big mainstream streaming service is focusing on animé as Netflix does. And it's winning them subscribers. They're becoming the hub for anime content.
Anime has gotten so popular recently, evident in an anime movie Demon Slayer: Mugen Train hitting $500mn even during pandemic. Shows how strong the IP is.

Netflix don't have much super big IP franchises like other services hence why they're focusing on anime and spending big on IP acquisitions. I think it's a good bet for them. The next battle will be Video games adaptations. More of that war in 2022.
Disney has MCU & Star Wars. Amazon Prime has LOTR. HBOMax has GOT & DC. Netflix IPs doesn't measure up to any of these.
