WaytoGo:They say when life gives your lemon, you make lemonade. No doubt, having a decoder that has multistream feature is good. However does it really completely limit your ability to enjoy fta to a satisfactory extent for now ? The answer to that question maybe no and these are my personal reasons. When you hear a particular hype about a new or existing kind of feature in some brand of receivers. First thing to consider is, do I really need it? Even if I do, is there another way to get something similar with my existing setup, that makes it not to be completely useless? First step to take towards answering the above question is to take note of the purpose of that multistream feature. As a case study, let look at one of the reason you keep hearing people being so interested in multistream decoders and to a reasonable extent the people that mostly but not entirely falls into that category. They are sports lovers who got to know that there is a channel like gtv sport plus and max TV that airs their favourite games. Because of that singular news, a new wave or quest to have a decoder that has a multistream feature became the new normal. Just like in the case when ourtv was doing a test transmission which was only receivable by H.265 enable decoder, it also ushered in a new wave that died slowly after it was scrambled and later got awakened again when tstv channels was only viewable by h.265 decoders, that too got scrambled. Imagine that! |
waleayeni1:Yes |
Decryptor:Yes you can use your powersat decoder. It works on any Hd decoder |
Decryptor:Yes you can |
sampete:Absolutely yes |
waleayeni1: ojesymsym:Biss and autoroll does not necessarily mean accessing paid content, because some channels that are encrypted under the Basic interoperable scrambling system known as Biss, are sometimes not paid content. But only encrypted by the service provider to be accessible to the public through a customized decoder or keys. On the other hand a decoder having an autoroll functionality has the ability to automatically decrypt and updates a receiver's idea keys when the transmitting signal provider changes its block cipher algorithm. Let me stop there On the issue of multistream .... Well As part of the GSE (Generic Stream Encapsulation) protocol adopted in DVB-S2, DVB-C2 and DVB-T2 standards it became possible for service providers to aggregate independent transport streams into one single radiofrequency carrier that is commonly referred to as multistream. So in other words... multistream can be define by a layman as streaming radio frequency to more than one infrastructure. Like Gtv sports plus/ max TV, transmitting both on terrestrial and digital platform>@28.2 degree east . So as a result of the above came to existence the mutistream functionality in a satellite receive. To enable you have access to view channels transmitting via such a frequency. |
Gbolabest234:Standing behind your dish with 28.2e as your starting point. Turn your dish a few inches to your left. Then slide it down like 4 inches or more. It will pop up. LNB skew > 3.0 clock Tracking Frequency 11090 V 30000 or 11050 H 30000

Revfada:28.2E > primary 51.5E > secondary |
Here is what it looks like just in case you don't already know
|
lincolnola:If your phone is android and compass works on it.. I will advice you to go to play store and download Satellite director by zekitez. It will always make it more easier for you to know the exact direction to point your dish. Before you even embark on tracking any satellite whatsoever. All you need do in the app is just to locate the sat name / degree you want to track. Click on director and it pin points you to where your dish needs to face. That way you don't really have to bother coming here to ask us for directions anymore. One love |
lincolnola:Tp = 12380 H 27500 lnb skew = 5.0/6.0 clock Now using Dstv as your reference point. I want you to picture Dstv as 12.0 clock then turn your dish to 3.0 clock position .. (From east you turn your dish to south) It's okay to face it to the sky while tracking. |
sampete:Bro this your question funny oh.. You started with " your installer wants to rip you off " that means you already have the answers to your question. But maybe just looking for a second opinion. Secondly I believe you probably don't have a shop where such is being sold close by.. Which might be the reason behind such a price tag. Or just maybe the installer mistake you for money miss road. Not knowing that you eyes dey shine well well. Lol!! All the same try and find out from him why he chose to add such a huge price tag to those items. Because not more than 2k can buy both in my location. So probably there is a reason which I believe you both can sort out amicably. One love |
goaldynman:I strongly believe you have resolved the above? But if not... The proximity between the two sat is very close. All you have to do is bring down your dish just a little down right. While standing behind it. Remember it's not more than just an inch or two shift. As regards to the ban.. Just let it go. Me I dey collect ban almost everyday for just trying to attend to questions here of recent but then, I still try to keep my head up. |
@Goaldynman, I feel you. Is as if you're being targeted. I get ban anytime I try to quote you self.. Lol. Still trying to wrap my head around it. |
ayanbaba2:That is eh !! The slap summon elders come the arena.. Lol |
ben1daEbiri:Oh my goodness.. This one off me. I nearly fall from chair just imagine that. |
Nora2018... I hail you oh |
RedPanthar:.... And more kudos to Adubam SlyCharlie You guys are the bomb.. Much respect |
RedPanthar:Yeah Yeah. It can be so annoying, especially when you are trying to catch up to a particular scene. If the decoder went off for any reason. |
RedPanthar:I forgot to add that the Hd type, scans faster when compared to the old type. You can imagine how long it takes for regular decoders (old type to scan) .. Well the HD type kind of accelerated that process |
RedPanthar:If by regular you mean those silver coloured type, Or the type that does not have an HDMI port at the back? If yes.. Then one major difference between what you are used to and the HD type. Is that the hd type gives you a more clearer picture quality when connected to your TV, through the HDMI port at the back of the decoder. simply put, with the HD decoder you have the ability to Watch Dstv channels in HD video format.. Which is clearer, as against your regular Dstv decoder ( silver coloured type/ none hdmi port at the back) which you are only limited to watching the channels in SD video format. Because it's only Av enabled from factory. |
SlyCharlie:My guy nor be small thing back then, imagine someone calling your phone close to twelve midnight. You go even think say him get better thing to discuss. Only for him to say " this my decoder just stopped working while I was watching it " jeez I provoke.. Then I replied with sleeping voice but yet annoyance in my voice " are you paying for subscription ? He said no. Then I replied why are you complaining after using only 5k to enjoy those stations for more than six months. For what people pay huge amount to watch? The guy silent. Funny enough, a friend back then, told me how someone was stupid enough to call D...tv customer care number. Asking them Why his azsky was not working. My bro that one off me, I nearly hit my car for pole. Because it was too hilarious to imagine how that call went between the guy and the customer care agent. Lol!! |
SlyCharlie:My bro I don see where many guys nearly panel beat an installer. During those days when Qsat was still very hot. See as men just seat down for living room dey Wait for the installation to be complete. Before then, the installer mouth dey wide reach back as they where asking him about the possibility of all the matches they intend watching that day. Long story short. My guy on decoder, put simcard, move to sport station. Channel nor open, time dey go, still channel nor open. The client provoke, na so other guys for the house buy the matter, when dey hear how much the client spend yet the reason behind the money spent was not visible. Fortunately for the installer, it was my neighborhood, so I had to quickly rush to my house to get my Dstv to enable them watch the match for that day. Just to pacify the situation. Meanwhile the installer don already collect some hot slap, from two die hard football fans in the house. Each time I remember such a day, I choose my words carefully when Making input on live sports. |
SlyCharlie:My reason for not being too quick to define the decoder as a live sport showing decoder. Many people who are going the FTA path and are sports lovers. You have to be careful about what You advice them to go and buy to watch their favourite sports. Because their blood dey hurt oh. Lol |
SlyCharlie:Bro please check and help him out. Thanks one love |
ckc:You're very correct. But I was only threading carefully with my statement. You and I know why Dstv still stand supreme when it comes to live sport in this side of the continent. I have been around this group of individuals who always end up buying Dstv over startimes. Because their definition of live sports must start With English premiership, before all you listed. All the same thanks for being the one pointing it out. Just like I said before, I was only threading carefully not to release an info that I don't know if the company Will stop doing that all of a sudden. Once again I am happy for your input. Thanks and one love |
waleayeni1:Remember I stated at the last part that such is only possible in a multistream decoder. So which decoder are you using to scan for the channels? |
Deluxe8000:Absolutely |
linsk:You may be right. But it doesn't hurt to do a blind scan as suggested. Always try and fulfill all righteousness before ruling out any suggestions given. |
