Remember that satfinder can only be powered by the receiver and you still have to input the to.
A good satfinder will get the job done even when there's power failure. You can even scan and veiw the channels to be sure of the date.
Sometimes, you need to install on a high roof. All you need is a short cable from your lnb to the satfinder. After installing, you can connect the cable and scan with the receiver

You just talk my mind. I just say make I lock up make e nor be like say I dey attack the guy way of tracking.

Imagine doing tracking with such a sat finder and nothing like backup generator. Nepa come take light.. That one na game over.

It's always good to get sat finder that helps you overcome all those inevitable challenges. Which makes the cost not to mean anything in the long run. What is what doing, is what doing well. A sat finder is one thing you must never cut cost because the benefit that comes from getting the one that does 95 percent of the job. Is not only just flexible but endless in possibilities.

Please, I need help urgently, I have hit the green on belintersat but I wouldn't find the sat on the latest h265 strong decoder now, the problem is, all efforts to type or add 51.5 belintersat on my strong decoder has proved abortive. I wonder why strong wouldn't add that position tho. Please, can you help me with how to go about adding a sat especially 51.5E on the latest strong decoder? I am struct now, I can't type it in, help!

First of all, it is not a must that until you see the exact sat name on the satellite list, before you will be able to get signal or whatever channel you are looking for.

The most important thing is to consider these two things. If you are searching for a ku band or a Cband.

For now all your tracking are in ku category. So all you need do is pick any satellite name listed that is on ku band.. Input your frequency manually on that sat or you just do a blind scan on the sat of your chosen and the frequency and channels will come up.

That said, you still choose to go the long journey of creating it yourself. Just click on the OK button on your remote, the keyboard function will pop up, edit whatever you so desire and click the yellow button to confirm and save.

Take note that you don't need to set the longitude if you are not running a motorized dish. So don't bother your head with all those details you will not even use anytime soon.


Please be informed that it will be a lot more better for you to send me an instant message on WhatsApp... When there is an emergency that needs an urgent reply.

With all my new found expensive I still haven't mastered the multi lnb setup. I wanna add 42.5e and 7e to my 51.5e. I have used all the experience acquired but still no result

Based on practicality, I know of 16/17e, 28e, 32.9,42.5 and 51.5. Being possible in one dish. But adding 7e to that is something I have not personally given a try. So saying it is possible or not is not in my place to affirm.

My observation ;

The fact is, lifting a 60cm dish or less is nothing compares to a 90cm dish. I mean, mounting a 90cm dish on the wall is a whole lot of experience and requires more strength and experience than when you compare it with a 60cm.

Ok. I have been on this game for a while now, training and retraining with my 60cm dish and yes, I must say it's been fun as I learn and improve everyday mounting and unmounting my 6Ocm for training purpose, been on this for two months or more and I must say, I have improved quite a lot not until today. When I try to mount my first 90cm dish for the first time, I must say that the experience wasn't that different but it's a whole lot of one when you have to mount your (90cm)dish on a wall especially a wall that isn't that strong to bear the weight of a 90cm dish. Men, I sweat no be small for dat mata, ontop mountain 90 cm dish.


Well, well, and well after all the mountain, falling of dish under the sun and mountain and nailing it over and over again I was able to have it firm on the wall after almost an hour or more.


Why am I penning this down? Of course, for newbies and potential FTA enthusiasm, start small, at least with small fish, right on the soil, don't go up there yet. Discipline yourself and mount and unmount your 60cm dish and start with an iron poll except you are sure of yourself lest you get frustrated and hunting a bird become a mission impossible.

Let me also add that, as a result of my dedication and passion for FTA, I successful hunt Multitv, Belintersat, Nigcomsat, and even Intelsat with my 60cm dish. Yes, all with 60cm dish.

Sharing my testimony and thanking all the people ( there are many) that contributed to my success and inspired me on this thread--God bless you all. Digitman,et al I see you.

Just seeing this . Do you mean the 497s has a year free sub before one can start subbing again. I use the 497s but the activation thing is stressful and I have to abandon the activation and use it for fta only.I don’t even have the mytv customer care number. Each time I tried activation through their page it shows invalid.

I have the serial under the decoder and saw the code number in information area but the issue is the smart card number I don’t really get that , I always enter the stb ID which is fourteen alphanumeric . Yet I get invalid once I clicked pair. Is their something wrong with them or how do you go about yours or must one sub before it can be paired

You don't need to sub for your first time activation. All you need do is input everything correctly.


Sometimes imputing your serial number wrongly can give you such error.

You need a very calm nerve to input those things correctly and cross check very well before clicking the pair button.

How do you guys know when to upgrade your strong or any decoder that's upgradeable? Is there any way to know when to upgrade your decoder, or one just have to go to their sites to check if there is a new upgrade software info for an upgrade? ??

If you are using an official decoder and your dish is pointed at the sat that contains their station. You are most likely to be getting over the air (OTA) update from the service provider whenever there is a new update.

However people tend to go for unofficial update because of the patch that comes with it, so as to use it for other dark side purposes if and when it is available.


Take for example.. The official software in strong can not open the etv Africa channel in 3w. But with the unofficial patched software. The station will open.

Honestly, I just didn't feel the need to bother Digitman anymore because he's really sacrificed and helped a lot already.

The bolded is exactly my setback with the upgrade issue but mine is even worst as the menu procedure at the information area isn't available on mine- I tried and tried everything but to no avail. And yes, the card number issue is another setback as it's not available or visible too. Anyway, I don't feel the need to do the upgrade anymore since I am capable to work with FTA myself now.

As you can see in the below image it can be tracked in the whole of Africa/Nigeria and for the fact that the dish will be facing the sky, it makes the signal even more easier.

To be honest, that satellite still dey give me tough time because of my dish position. But with digitman's help and a few others I have been able to nail 51.5e. If I turn on ac and turn off light for my small sitting room come put the channel for that music station on 51.5e, you go think say na dstv premium I subscribe on. Fta rules.

Since you dey flex music like me. Say you for add Hip TV among your musical channels. If to say you get Cband dish

Thanks for the tp bro. My DiSEqC switch just come from China since early August, so I thought that I should get creative with my second dish. The first dish is permanently on 51.5east even though many channels with lesser resolution hang a bit when I am watching. I say make I use the 2nd dish well

I be dey think say you even dey run multi lnb setup self. Fta na just to add as many stations as possible, even though say all the channels cannot have a premium package but if you arrange the channels to your favorite well. E go still get that enjoyable feel last last.

When the channels are not for free but you end up watching it through illegal means. By purchasing whatever is available out there in the market to view them.

What could be wrong and how do I go about correcting it?

These are the basic things to check.

If the wire at the back of your setup box is disconnected

If the wire of your lnb/ diseqc switch is disconnected

If your diseqc switch is faulty

If your lnb is faulty

If, depending on the location where the dish is installed. There's a tree in front of where your dish is facing. That has grown taller and is blocking the signal from passing through.

Finally if all the above is in good condition, then you have to check for dish shift and realign accordingly for signal to be restored

The said Tstv have their own indigenous channels which should count for a reason not to come here and start blacklisting them.

Further more in their press release.. They only listed just two frequencies that they will be transmitting on. Which are 10970 H 30000 and 11130 H 30000.


So to come here and be accusing them of transmitting other dstv channels on a frequency (11170 H.30000) that was not listed on their press release as theirs, simply because it's on the same sat position as Tstv . Is like trying to tarnish someone's image for a crime the person did not commit.

The said frequency was once said to belong to a particular service provider ( name withheld) which has nothing to do with Tstv. So let's mind our utterances in public, you never know, you could be making the wrong one out of ignorance.

Since your dish is pointing to the east.. Two sat position can give you MBC considering the fact that your primary lnb is positioned at 28.2 degree east. Thought 26 degree east still does that. But that's another topic

42.5 degree east

51.5 degree east

You also asked for proximity in distance using 28.2 degree east as a reference point.

From 28.2e to 42.5e is around =20.32 centimeters ( 8 inches)

From 28.2e to 51.5 is around =30.48 centimeters (12 inches)


Please note that the above proximity can either be less or more depending on different factors. So what I gave you does not apply to every installations but just a reference for you to work with

Bro, please on a 60cm dish that i already use for nicomsat what will be the likely signal strength for the 51%east , I have d nicomsat stabled at 84% quality, so what will be the likely strength attaching 51%east on top. And what will be the lnb screw for it.

On the issue of signal strength there are so many variables that can make the figure inconsistent . So all I can tell you is that the signal is strong enough to work on your dish size.
