Bro I scan with this tp but i didn't get a single channel on my satelite tv. I am on nigcomsat.
Sorry for the late reply, I was tied up with work. In the attached image you will see their official frequency.

If that did not work, then do a blind scan. However if all the option listed did not bring out a signal then adjust your dish to boost the signal in that frequency.

As I write, the frequency is still firing and channels very much active.

Has the blind scan come up again?. it was removed by them through upgrade. And the decoder those not multistream. only H265. I have been using it since it newly came out
I even want to sell my.
I was not in anyway talking about them in that post. We were just only discussing on any multistream decoder that has a blind scan and how to go about it
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Free To Air Satellite Tv General Thread by DigitXman: 9:22am On Nov 11, 2020
This one na end of year give away. Many people go even put a stop to buying decoder for now and flex the new norm

Over 80 channels for free?

Wow this is going to be mountain

Nigomsat is about to get interesting once again. Enough channels to quench some appetite is on the way oh

Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Free To Air Satellite Tv General Thread by DigitXman:
I forgot to post this yesterday.

Freeview Africa will be running a test transmission till december 1 for people with any satellite decoder to have a feel of what they have to offer.

Remember when I asked you guys to keep an eye on a particular frequency on Nigcomsat ?

Well they have started transmitting .

Frequency

12736 H 9100

Is there any multi stream software upgrade for 4955b?
Sorry bro, I am not aware of any. Maybe someone here can be able to respond to that.

Well done!

One last question, please!
Do multi-stream recorder/frequency has its separate list of limited channels on its frequency or take in both channels lists available on its frequency and none altogether?
Let me use this question to elaborate more on how multistream really works as easy as possible and I hope I don't get ban because I will definitely use two names that might be prohibited here to drive home my point.

But let's lay a foundation to build on by listing out all the multiple streams to which service providers relay tv stations or channels get to the Final consumer

DVB-S
Digital Video Broadcasting – Satellite

DVB-S2
Digital Video Broadcasting - Satellite - Second Generation

DVB-S2X
is an extension of DVB-S2 satellite digital broadcasting standard.

DVB-T
Digital Video Broadcasting -Terrestrial

DVB-T2
Digital Video Broadcasting — Second Generation Terrestrial

DVB-C
Digital Video Broadcasting - Cable

Now picture this in your head. Each of the above transmission stream has a radio frequencies in which it they transmit.

So imagine a situation where a service provider chooses to merge its channels that are being transmitted both on DVB-S2 Platform and DVB-T2 platform through the help of the DVB-S2X technology. Thereby creating one singular frequency for both the satellite channels and terrestrial channels to coexist simultaneously and receivable on that same frequency ( for example combining D**v which is a digital satellite channel and G**v which is digital terrestrial channel to be receivable under one or more specific frequency simultaneously)

The above process of achieving that is what translate to multiple streaming. Aka multistream

Don't get me wrong. I meant if multi-stream decoder can absorb and or display channels on none multi-stream frequency.
Definitely yes.. It's still just your regular free to air decoder, meant to receive all satellite frequency transmitting on both ku/c band

Multi frequency - 12645 v 30000
None multi frequency at 28.2 - 12522v30000

Can the none multi-frequency work or display channels on multi-frequency?

Above was the question I indirectly asked him but since you asked for clarification on that. ..
In translation if I get you correctly. Is if the channels that pop up on 12645 V 30000 , can still pop up on 12522 v 30000 ? Right?
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Free To Air Satellite Tv General Thread by DigitXman: 10:48pm On Nov 10, 2020
ajaymina:
So, if I understand your illustrations correctly in a layman's view; Multi stream enable decoder is like a DVD player machine that can play both DVDs and VCDs.

While a None Multi stream decoder is like a VCD player machine that can play ONLY VCDs?
That layman definition applies to a comparison between H.264 versus H.265 decoder.

However it is relatively close but different in the sense that a none multistream enabled decoder still plays every other channels that a multistream decoder can play. Except for not being able to modulate the frequency that is transmitting the multistream channels
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Free To Air Satellite Tv General Thread by DigitXman: 10:36pm On Nov 10, 2020
WaytoGo:
True!
And the beauty of this , I believe, is, even if your frequency on multi-stream has limited channels you can always switch your frequency to none multi-stream frequency, right?
What do you really mean by switch your frequency?
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Free To Air Satellite Tv General Thread by DigitXman: 10:20pm On Nov 10, 2020
WaytoGo:
Plenty thanks.
I can remember that you also complained about the disappearance blind scan on the Ourtv decoder. It's clear now that they have software issues too.

Now, back to our discussion if I choose the second option do one leave the frequency box empty before I do the blindscan or just add the none multi-stream frequency and the multi-stream decoder will do justice to the rest as explained above?

Thank you for your time, you are much appreciated.
Using the blind scan method does not in anyway require you imputing the frequency manually again. The blind scan is a feature that helps to bring out any absent frequency that exist under a particular satellite that is not embedded in the preconfigured frequency list.

I have learned something new today.

Never knew multi-stream has a separate or different frequency apart from the general one. Can you please expatiate on that and how it's gotten, and where?
Two ways... Once your decoder is multistream enabled.

You either input the frequency manually
Once you have tracked 28.2 degree east joy tv position

Or you do a blind scan and the frequency will pop up and scan out the channels listed
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Free To Air Satellite Tv General Thread by DigitXman: 9:50pm On Nov 10, 2020
So now it is clear in this our experiment, that for now Ourtv decoder cannot multistream.

I chose to use strong 4954 in this practical, because it is one of the decoders that became multistream capable through software upgrade.

So I use God beg you that is saying that Ourtv multistream . To respect this length I went in doing a practical for you to see with your eyes. To go back to your drawing board and correct that statement.

I nor dey quick vex oh. Because I go vex if you still continue to dey do blind argument, after I don sacrifice time I will use in doing something productive to explain am well for you.

I rest my case.

Ourtv decoder on this multistream frequency

12645 v 30000

As you can see in the image there is no signal on the above multistream frequency

Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Free To Air Satellite Tv General Thread by DigitXman: 9:40pm On Nov 10, 2020
Now let's check the multistream frequency

12645 v 30000

A moment of truth
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Free To Air Satellite Tv General Thread by DigitXman: 9:38pm On Nov 10, 2020
12522 V 30000 @ 28.2 degree east on ourtv decoder

Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Free To Air Satellite Tv General Thread by DigitXman: 9:36pm On Nov 10, 2020
Now I just connected the wire to ourtv decoder. First I am going to show you an image of joy tv frequency on the decoder

So it will be very clear to whoever it may concern that I am in the right position

Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Free To Air Satellite Tv General Thread by DigitXman: 9:23pm On Nov 10, 2020
That will be enough for debate..
Now let's connect the Ourtv decoder and see if it can

1 see the signal
2 pick or scan out the channels that the strong decoder just scanned out in the previous image

Please note we are using this frequency

12645 V 30000 as a case study

To prove if Ourtv decoder can multistream
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Free To Air Satellite Tv General Thread by DigitXman: 9:19pm On Nov 10, 2020
More channels on the strong 4954

Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Free To Air Satellite Tv General Thread by DigitXman: 9:18pm On Nov 10, 2020
More channels

Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Free To Air Satellite Tv General Thread by DigitXman: 9:17pm On Nov 10, 2020
Now let's look at the 44 channels that scanned out on the multistream frequency 12645 V 30000

Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Free To Air Satellite Tv General Thread by DigitXman: 9:07pm On Nov 10, 2020
First test is on strong 4954

Let's see if there will be signal and if there is let's see if it will scan out the channels running on multistream platform
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Free To Air Satellite Tv General Thread by DigitXman: 9:06pm On Nov 10, 2020
I am going to connect a wire coming directly from 28.2 degree east.

Connect it to the two decoders one after the other to see the one that will bring out signal on this frequency

12645 V 30000
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Free To Air Satellite Tv General Thread by DigitXman: 9:04pm On Nov 10, 2020
Now let's do the practical..

In this practical I am going to use

Strong 4954 versus Ourtv decoder

The satellite position in this case study will be Astra 2 @ 28.2 degree east.

Multistream frequency for the experiment will be

12645 V 30000
