Politics / Re: Peter Obi Labours In Vain Again As He Leads Akpata To Third Place Finish by Digriz(m): 6:20pm On Sep 22
Is Peter Obi the reason the economy is in a shambles? F00ls will continue to blame Peter Obi for their failures in life while he enjoys his life to the fullest.
Everyone knows the Labour Party made a mistake under its former leader by presenting Akpata, ignoring the zoning arrangements. Abure deceived Akpata because his selection did not sit well with other stakeholders in the party, knowing that the zoning formula would play a crucial role in the voting process.
Peter Obi had no choice but to support his party’s candidate. Do you expect him to support PDP or APC? All blame should go to Abure for fielding Akpata.
If Asue had contested under LP, nothing but victory is sure for him with high margin that APC cannot even attempt to rig.

I just checked the price of the London used Redmi phone I bought for 65k in October 2022. Under normal circumstances, the price should have dropped to 50k, since many new models of the same device have been released. I was surprised to see that the same phone is now selling for 95k.
We are in a terrible situation presently.

Peter Obi has killed his political career in Edo state.
Edo people supported him because of their believe in justice, fairness and equity as the Igbos have been so marginalized in the country.
Today, Obi no longer believe in fairness, equity and justice. He is not only supporting a Bini man to take over from another Bini man, he is supporting Obaseki's cousin to take over from Obaseki. What a hypocrisy.
So u mean he should abandon his party’s candidate to support a PDP candidate? This indomie generation which you belong shows their ignorance about politics by constantly displaying childish behavior. Stop posting nonsense about things you don't understand.

There are some things that may not be said on social media, but the fact is that Nigerians will celebrate Tinubu las las. I actually don't know why Nigerians expect Thier expectations to be met under 1 or 2 years in a country like ours. For me I know we still have a long way to go, the government has a lot in the pipeline with the legislation required going underground, they will still change constitution, change naira, massive implementation of the LG autonomy among many that have been left undone. Just check jagaban problem solving capacity even from 1999 till date, it's massive . Anyway I know people will protest for 4years he is focused. Afterall Tinubu criticism never stoped since 1999 till date and he keep moving on his target. Even if fuel is sold for 200 some people will still complain. Imagine people are complaining of too stable power in my area that Band A too expensive. Am so confident it will be fine for nigeria soon.
I am an optimistic individual, though not in a religious sense. I believe in seeing the roadmap and the initial steps and plans to be convinced. If Tinubu can make a significant improvement in our economy and revive it, that would be the greatest miracle of my life so far. However, your last point regarding the electricity tariff is unacceptable. The Band A tariff is quite expensive, especially considering our minimum wage. At around 250 naira per unit, it is too costly, but I won't focus on that for now.

You may say that for now, cutting cost is a gradual thing that requires legislation. but the facts on anyone's performance can only be checked via his or her previous engagements. Its clear and on record that Tinubu takes difficult steps and has mind in facing challenges and overcoming it with positive outcomes. Maybe you don't know him too well other than what was being posted online. Tinubu can never be known too well online because it's negative representation is more than the actual way of life. He is not a saint just as no saint in Nigeria. He belongs to the cabals reason he knows the road to follow in resolving issues. He is fearless because he has the backing of people that are stronger than him in Nigeria and beyond. Tinubu capacity is not today, no other candidates in Nigeria has his records of achievements and they all know that. but in all, nigerians must benefit.
Really? You have so much faith in him, and from your post, it seems like you know him quite well. My question to you is, if he’s truly the person you portray him to be, shouldn’t we already be seeing some positive changes? At the very least, we should see signs of progress in the direction he's taking. However, the corruption in his administration is overwhelming, and he’s turning a blind eye to the concerns everyone is raising. He appointed a Senate president who acts as a puppet to assist in his large scale embezzlement. If this is the man you're defending, I urge you to reconsider, because there's no light at the end of this tunnel. Tinubu has no good plans for Nigeria but to answer former president. His manifestor is " it is my turn", and you still believe he can deliver?

Their is hardship in the land no doubt, but sane Nigerians who live the country knows that the difficult decisions of this administration are very necessary and will soon get used to it and be free for ever.

The likes of Obi, Atiku, sowore, kwakwanso knows too well that they can't handle such policies without crashing the country. Most countries that are gr8 today did a lot that caused pains to Thier people before they succeeded so I don't expect ours to be different.. what is left is for them to cut massively the cost of governance and block the leakages to curruption in offices and market places
Is Tinubu fighting corruption and cutting down on the cost of governance? He's simply creating more hardship by enabling massive corruption in his administration. If you are hoping that Tinubu will change the situation for better, you are dreaming.

I remember hearing these songs for the first time on a collection track he was playing on our way to Lagos. As a music lover, the journey was so pleasant for me. Sadly he passed on the following year at a young age of 33. May his soul always rest in peace.

Crime / Re: Why Are Over 75% Drug Trafficking Nigerians From One Region? - Reno Omokri by Digriz(m): 9:40pm On Sep 02
phylshan:
Why Do Over 75% of Nigerians Arrested Abroad For Drug Trafficking Come From One Region?

Sadly, many men are driven to commit crimes by women who call them stingy because they are managing the small amounts of money they have. Take a country like Nigeria. If you look at the state breakdown of where Nigerian drug traffickers are imprisoned abroad, the states where parents demand the highest bride prices feature at the top, whereas those where families request no bride prices are found at the bottom. Is this a coincidence?

Let us invest in reforming our culture. Some need this more than others, because abroad they do not know Hausa, Igbo, and Yoruba. They see you as a Nigerian. And in some places, that is a stigma. When you have a country like Seychelles, having more Nigerians in their prisons for drug offences than their own citizens, you must accept that there is a problem.

It is not racism that makes the queues for Nigerians long at foreign airports. For the most part, it is pragmatism.

And when something like 89% of Nigerians in prison for drug trafficking come from one region, and 68% of that 89% come from two states, one beginning with A and the other starting with I, you must consider addressing the cultural practices that make these men desperate to make money at all costs.

I deal with facts. There are data with names and places to back up my assertions. If the Federal Government wants them (that is, if they do not already have them), I am happy to provide these details to them.

That is why I have maintained that if these states refuse to pass laws restricting how much can be demanded as bride price or used to bury parents, then the Federal Government must step in and enact a federal law, the way the Supreme Court stopped the practice of preventing women from inheriting in one particular region, which may or may not be the same region where the bulk of Nigerians imprisoned for drugs come from.

People are not naturally greedy. There is no greed DNA, in the same way we have genes that cause obesity. Greed, just like hate, is learnt from the prevailing culture in an environment.

When you are young, and you see your community disrespect your aged father and respect a young man simply because he has money, your brain is being rewired. When your sister is being given away in marriage to a complete stranger, simply because he can afford the exorbitant bride price they demand, your brain is reengineered.

The traditions of a society subliminally drive the culture of that community. Unless you have an exceptionally strong and stubborn personality, your morals, values, beliefs, and even your most private thoughts will be dictated by the culture in your society, which has emotionally scripted you from the day you became self-aware.

If we do not address this scourge at the cultural level, we will continue to experience the devaluation of the Nigerian passport and our reputation.

If you frequently travel abroad, you know what I mean. The 'look' you get when they see your green passport. You are presumed guilty by association. Everywhere is not like Thailand, Kenya, and South Africa, where they have pinpointed the actual set of Nigerians who have a higher propensity for such crimes.

In most of the world, you are just viewed as a Nigerian, meaning that your perception is that of a person more given to crime than the average person. It is wrong. I know. But guess what? Perception is reality.

Things like location and nationality affect perceptions. For example, if you are seen with a cow at a church, it will be perceived as an offering. However, the perception is entirely different if you are seen with a cow at a shrine.

Nigerians are suffering from that perception. Many large firms with access to people's private data, such as ID and credit card details, are hesitant to hire Nigerians abroad, because of the perception challenge we have. You and I may not be drug pushers and romance scammers, but we pay the price for sharing the same passport with syndicates and cartels that engage in these practices.

Obi can never win presidential election on his own. He doesn't have the appeal to win northern votes and northern votes is key to winning the election.

It seems part of Tinubu strategy is to keep Obi dreaming of making it alone.

If Obi keeps being stubborn den Atiku should ask Ngozi Okonji Iweala to be his vice.

Are you aware that it is the turn of the South. A southerner should complete the term so Obi should be the flag bearer then Kwankwaso his Vice. Atiku should support them for the victory to be achieved.
