Iykeluv:I also believe that it will be paid this month. During the May Day speech of the governor. He said he would implement as soon as d MW is sign into law and template is out. I think he will keep to his words because that is where integrity starts. |
Starhawk:Hmm. P A to the governor of Rivers State. Thank you. |

[quote author=dmercy141983 post=129837629]Why should minimum wage be compared to dollar as the standard measurement or comparison? Why can't minimum wage be set according the economic reality of the country? Why is dollar controlling our economy? Well Nigeria is a useless country after all! Tụfịakwa! 600k plus minimum wage is ot realistic and 100k minimum wage is very poor. The economic reality is that inflation would continue to ravage our economy until Nigeria shift from being an importing nation to an exporting nation. We are ruled by leaders who have refused to follow the ABCD...of economics and majoring on Political party and power control. I weep for my country!! |
In a country where God has blessed us with so much resources that would have put us on top of the world map if properly utilize. As at present, Nigeria is purely a consumption economy, thus the gap between the dollar and naira would continue to widen. It's pathetic that in 2024, Nigeria cannot boast of producing fuel...but the government is ready to waste billions if not trillions to build a road from Lagos to Calabar. While they cannot even maintain the East West Road. Why wouldn't the money be used instead to build even two or three functional modula refinery. Hmm I weep for my country Nigeria. Nigeria is indeed a failed state!! |
Bayelsa Govt Approves Wage Award for Civil Servants, Tasks Labour Centres On Synergy The Bayelsa State Government has approved the payment of wage awards to civil servants in its ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) as part of measures to cushion the effects of the excruciating economic realities. A statement by the media aide to the Deputy Governor, Mr Doubara Atasi, explained that the wage award which was approved by Governor Douye Diri is in line with the Federal Government's appeal to the states to utilize funds from oil subsidy removal to ameliorate the economic hardship facing workers. According to the statement, Senator Ewhrudjakpo had directed the Head of the State Civil Service, Mrs. Biobelemoye Charles-Onyeama, to work out modalities for the payment of the N35,000 wage awards to all civil servants on the state government payroll. Describing the civil service as the engine room for the implementation of government's programmes and policies, the Deputy Governor assured that the present administration in Bayelsa would continue to take the welfare of civil servants seriously. His words: "The effectiveness of any government is the civil service. And so, anybody who disorganizes, disregards, undermines and fails to recognize the civil service, that person is only doing so to promote his or her own intention to fail in government or governance. "Civil servants are the people that implement the programmes and policies of government. In fact, they run with the vision of government. That is why we take our civil service very seriously here. "And our civil servants are also very supportive. They have always supported us as a government. So, we don't joke with matters affecting them. As we speak, we are not owing our workers. "Like the wage award you mentioned, I want you to know that the Governor has already approved the wage awards for civil servants in the state. Soon after this meeting, the Head of Service will get the approval and start working on it." Earlier in his remarks, the Chairman of TUC, South South zone, Comrade Bolum Martin, acknowledged the labour friendly disposition of the Governor Diri-led administration, noting that Bayelsa is among the few states that had extended the payment of the 30 percent minimum wage to local government workers. Comrade Martin, who is also the TUC State Chairman of Delta State, also lauded the state government for taking the lead on paying call duty allowance to health personnel, wage awards to local government workers and for creating a conducive work environment. Former level: 9/4 Old salary: 90,000 Entry qualification: MSc New salary: 110,000 I'm not on loan. Zenith Bank. This is unfair o! Why is it that when it concerns teachers, things must go wrong. I think all these are deliberate so that they can cash out on some teachers... While others were given 3 level promotion in other ministries, ours was 2 level for those that got while others didn't get. Hmm, they have started again ooh. That's how they denied us Fed & March salary in 2016 up till today. |
I just received my December Salary now. Thank God ooh that it didn't enter voicemail like my Feb & March 2016 Salary. God dey! |
As at yesterday, some of us are yet to be paid December Salary. Why is it so? |

I called a friend at the SSSB to asked if there are other issues or problem why others are yet to get their salaries. He said nothing was wrong and that the rest would be paid. But am not satisfied with his response. Please, does anyone have an update on this matter? |
