Phones › Re: Phone Gift Update + Help Me Pick A Budget Laptop (under ₦300k) by Dimmah: 10:06am On Jul 13, 2025 |
StellaGirlie: Hey everyone 👋🏾
First of all, thank you to everyone who dropped comments and helped me out on my earlier post about finding a phone gift under ₦220k. I really appreciate the suggestions, both common and unexpected ones. You guys are the real MVPs 🙏🏾
Right now, I’ve narrowed it down to either the Redmi (I’m looking at the Note series) or the realme C75x. Both are within budget and honestly, they each have what I’m looking for strong battery, good camera, decent storage, and clean design.
I’ve been doing more research and watching reviews here and there. I also plan to ask around from people who currently use either of the two brands. I just don’t want to regret the decision after spending that kind of money. So I’m being extra careful 😅
💻 Now, a new thing I need help with: I’m also looking for a budget-friendly laptop (mainly for basic work stuff, documents, browsing, light editing, no heavy gaming).
Please drop any laptop brands/models under ₦300k that are worth checking out. I don’t mind something simple and reliable, just as long as it’s not painfully slow.
I’ll be sure to come back and update the thread when I finally make the decision on the phone and why I went for it. Thanks again, Nairaland fam ❤️ For this price, is the realme C75x really worth it or is it hype? |

Phones › Re: Realme C75x Or Spark 40 Pro+, Which Is Better? by Dimmah: 9:09am On Jul 13, 2025 |
Offpoint1: Hi guys!
I'm considering changing my current phone (Spark 10 Pro) my budget is 300k max. I would have loved to get a Samsung (I'm a fan), but specs of Samsung within that budget is a big no for me.
4 most important thing I gun for in phone. 1. Battery 2. Speed charging (I want my phone to charge from zero to 100% in less than an hour and last me a whole day on heavy use) 3. Storage, follows by performance.
I've gone through the both phone specs and I kinda got discouraged by Realme C75x Chipset (12 nm) rating. Spark 40 is (6nm) The rating plays a lot of roles in performance and battery efficiency
Spark 10 Pro is the first Tecno product I've used after switching from Samsung. In all fairness, the phone did pretty well and more than expected for such price. I played FC football and COD conveniently if I set Graphics to medium. (it lags after 30 minutes if set graphics to high... So I sticked to medium)
Realme specs looks OK, but Spark 40 is more enticing to me because I've used Tecno product.
I appreciate if it get inputs from the both gadget users.
.................... I might be selling off the Spark 10 Pro if I made up my mind. (I got it last year, so it's still 99% neat and 100% good condition) Can this phone compete with the likes of Redmi or Infinix in the same range? |
Phones › Re: What are the differences and similarities between The realmec75 and realmec75x by Dimmah: 5:58pm On Jun 28, 2025 |
IheomaAkparanta: I discovered thatrealme just released the C75x in Nigeria and I thought it wise to bring up the similarities and differences between both for people who might be confused. For a start, here are the differences:
- Colors: - realme C75: Available in Storm Black and Lightning Gold - realme C75x: Available in Oceanic Blue and Coral Pink
- Battery: - realme C75: 5828mAh battery with 45W fast charging - realme C75x: 5310mAh battery with 45W fast charging
- Price: - realme C75: Priced around ₦234,200 for the 8GB RAM on 128GB storage and ₦255,000 for the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant in Nigeria - realme C75x: Priced around ₦178,700 for 6GB RAM on 128GB storage and ₦208,200 for 8GB RAM on 256GB storage in Nigeria -Display - realme C75: 6.72-inch FHD+ display with 90Hz refresh rate, 580nits brightness, and ArmorShell Glass protection - realme C75x: 6.67-inch FHD+ display with 120Hz refresh rate and ArmorShell glass protection
-Camera - realme C75: Dual rear cameras (50MP primary sensor) with LED flash, 8MP front camera - realme C75x: 50MP AI camera with LED flash, 5MP front camera
-Durability - realme C75: IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings, MIL-STD-810H compliant - realme C75x: IP69 rating, MIL-STD-810H compliant
For the similarities, we have: 1. Brand: Both are part of the realme C series. 2. Segment: Both are budget-friendly smartphones. 3. Side-Mounted Fingerprint Sensor: Both likely feature side-mounted fingerprint sensors. 4. Dual-SIM Support: Both support dual-SIM functionality. 5. Expandable Storage: Both have expandable storage options via microSD cards. 6. Design: Both phones have a similar design language with a focus on durability. 7. Durability Features: Both are MIL-STD-810H compliant and have IP ratings (IP66, IP68, and IP69 for C75; IP69 for C75x). 8. Fast Charging: Both support 45W fast charging. 9. Android Version: Both run on Android 14. 10. Realme UI: Both feature Realme UI 5.0. 11. AI Capabilities: Both have AI-powered features, including AI cameras. 12. Large batteries: Both have large battery capacities So tell me, among these two, which would you pick and why? Also, what difference or similarity is catching your eye? The size and design just look really balanced even the durability |

Phones › Re: Let’s Be Honest, iPhones Are Not For Everyone by Dimmah: 5:49pm On Jun 28, 2025 |
Desewa08: This might offend some people but I’ll still say it: iPhones are not for everyone. I’ve used both iPhones and Androids and as much as I respect the clean UI and camera of iPhones not everyone needs a phone that costs as much as rent in Lagos 😭. Some of us just want a phone that: •Won’t die before 3pm •Charges fast •Has decent camera for weekend pictures •Doesn’t freeze mid-Zoom call •Doesn’t make us check our account balance before buying data 😩 I used to think I needed an iPhone until I realized I was basically using a ₦900k phone to scroll Twitter, snap food pics and watch Instagram skits that my Android could’ve shown me the same way 😭. I switched to a realme phone a few months ago and I won’t lie, I had my reservations. I mean, the name alone feels like something you'd see on the back of a power bank 😭 but omo… this phone has been doing the most. ✅ Battery that actually lasts (I charge once a day now) ✅ No unnecessary heat even during long calls ✅ Camera quality? Surprisingly solid. ✅ Smooth UI... No glitchy wahala or clutter It’s not perfect sha. The name still doesn’t sit well with me and people still look at me somehow when I say it but if we’re talking value for money, I’m not sure anything else comes close right now. So let's argue: -Do you need an iPhone or is it just vibes and pressure? -What brand are you using that actually shocked you (in a good way)? -And why do we look down on phones with “unpopular” names? Like I think this could be ideal for students too |
Phones › Re: Smart Phone, Smarter Spend! by Dimmah: 5:45pm On Jun 28, 2025 |

Phones › Re: Let’s Be Honest, iPhones Are Not For Everyone by Dimmah: 4:07pm On Jun 28, 2025 |
Kimmierain: Honestly, I agree. The hype around iPhones is mad, but they’re not the most practical choice for everyone. These Android brands are stepping up too. I saw that new realme C75x recently, and the specs are actually solid for the price. Tbh I feel the specs-to-price ratio is actually solid |
