Education10 Most Terrifying Creatures Ever Found.. by Dinirojones(op): 1:49pm On Mar 15, 2017
The animal kingdom still holds some dark spots, and it is in the human nature to assume that monsters and strange creatures seek refuge there. With evidence piling up, it is impossible to dismiss all these cases as the result of optical illusions, elaborate hoaxes, or mass hysteria.

A dead body or some remains complicate the equation even further, as scientists hesitate to emit a verdict. It is also common for such evidence to disappear without a trace, seriously supporting the cover-up theories.

How would you react if what was until then a mythical creature is accepted by mainstream science? If Bigfoot is a giant ape with human intelligence, how ethical it is to hunt it down and study it in the name of science?..

1. Montauk Monster

The Montauk Monster was a recent addition to the world of cryptozoology.

The animal carcass was found washed ashore on a beach in Montauk, New York, in July 2008. There are many great quality photos taken of the monster, as well as the accounts of thousands of tourist and locals that saw the creature.

To make things even more disturbing, the body disappeared from the beach, fueling conspiracy theories involving a government cover-up.

However, scientists that examined photos of the monster dismissed the idea that this is a new animal to be added in the zoology books. A strange looking raccoon that was in the water for too long seems the most plausible explanation.

The Montauk Monster is not an isolated case, and the sea often grants strange looking creatures on beaches around the world.
Business$300m Smart City Rolls Off In Lagos by Dinirojones(op): 10:34am On Mar 15, 2017
Determined to reduce the housing deficit in Lagos, a $300 million Smart City will soon berth in Lagos.
The Smart City promoted by the Eleushi Royal Family and a private developer is coming to quench the appetite of having one’s home within his business area.
Explaining the project expected to cost a whopping $300 million, Mr. Femi Akioye, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Channeldrill Resources Ltd, developers and promoters of the city in Lagos at the weekend said it would afford low income earners in Lagos to live in the city even when they cannot ordinarily afford the cost. He said the project is the product of the vision of HRM, Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi and Channeldrill Resources Ltd who are the joint developers of IIBC.
The IIBC by projection is gaining traction as a new residential and investment destination that holds compelling opportunities for savvy and patient investors with long term view of the property market.
According to the promoters of the ambitious project, it would be developed into a world class state-of-the art reclamation design that can boast of flood resilient platform level, stable and sustainable water edges with settlement control.
By the projections of the promoters, barring any unforeseen circumstances, the developers of the new $300 million Lagos smart city, Imperial International Business City (IIBC) have promised to deliver the completed project in 2021.
Touted to be the first eco-friendly smart business city in Africa, the 200 hectare city, which is a Joint Venture between the Elegushi Royal Family and Channeldrill Resources Limited commenced in April 2016 with land reclamation, involving dredging between two and 2.5 metres above sea level.
Speaking on the progress made so far, Akioye said the future developments of the Lekki Free Trade Zone, would only increase the demand for comfortable homes within the axis.
“Our infrastructural plan include lakes and water ways which will be used for internal water transportation within the city, it is also required for the city’s drainage system to prevent flooding.”
Also speaking, Director Maritime Projects, Royal Kaskoning DV, Mr. Roland Stive, said the company is adopting a state of the art reclamation design without silt, coarse and angular quartz as well as flood resilient platform level, stable and sustainable waters edges and settlement control in the project.
Being the first eco-friendly smart business city in sub-Saharan Africa, the project tagged Imperial International Business City (IIBC) and promoted through a joint-venture between the Elegushi Royal Family and a private developer, Channeldrill Resources Limited will be the pride of the country at completion.
According to the promoters, proposed scheme could be accessed through three locations: Freedom road through Lekki Phase 1 (Lekki Third Roundabout); Kunsenla Road by fourth Roundabout of Lekki-Epe Highway and Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi Road by spare supermarket before Jakande. Another access road is being planned through Femi Okunu by Jakande roundabout.
Specifically, IIBC will be bankrolled through British Foreign Direct Investment of about $300 Million and off plan sales. The city will be zoned into residential, mixed used and commercial areas. Each zone will have low, medium and high density area as well as lagoon/water view area.
About 60 plots are now in the market. The first sets of investors are buying 65,000 per square metres (sqm)plot at N42 million. The project offers different plot sizes. The minimum plot size is 650 sqm.
“The project is the vision of the royal father, Oba Saheed Elegushi to create an international business city which will incorporate the work, live and play theme. The IIBC will expand the Ikate kingdom and also extend Lekki Phase 1. We are making use of the best dredging and architectural companies in the world to accomplish this feat,” said Akioye.
The new city plans to integrate smart technologies and distinctive features, which will make it, first self-sustaining eco-friendly smart business district. For instance, real data of traffic flow within the city, the traffic light are connected to sensors that matched the surface traffic congestion (loads on surface transport) to free roads and the sensor also give active surveillance, monitoring and alerts at vantage points within the city (real time adaptive traffic management).....

PoliticsMy Govt Has Not Borrowed A Dime From Any Bank — Okorocha by Dinirojones(op): 8:47am On Mar 15, 2017
Owerri—Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State has said that his government has not borrowed from any bank, stating that opponents of his government have been talking about his borrowing from banks because of the numerous projects his administration has executed.

Governor Okorocha spoke during a breakfast meeting with journalists in the state at his private residence in Owerri on Tuesday, March 14, 2017, adding that instead of his administration borrowing, what it had done was to pay the money borrowed by administrations before him and he has done that so that the state won’t be in debt after him..
He claimed that his opponents have been imagining that he has borrowed money to be doing all that his administration has achieved in five years, stressing that the truth of the matter is that his government is not indebted to any bank. His words: “For posterity ,this government is not owing any bank or person any amount except for the bailout fund for which 100 million naira is being deducted from the source monthly. Any subsequent government that comes and says that Rochas borrowed is a criminal one”..On 2019, the governor said “I will never run against President Buhari but would continue to support him in the overall interest of the nation, especially when he has stabilized the nation. I want to also say that those in Imo who made many political enemies should forget the Douglas House. We need people with free mind. I have killed the clannish nature of the state where people consider where you come from before doing anything for you. The politics of sentiment must be discarded and discouraged. It is shame for somebody to hope on zoning to win elections”..

The governor also informed that his administration has spent over N50 billion on free education since the introduction of the programme, regretting that inspite of the description of the free education policy as a ruse by the opponents of the administration, there was stampede at the locations where the students were asked to go and get forms to fill to show they are really indigenes of the state because of the information that non- indigenes claim to be Imo people because of the programme. On the issue of the former chairman of the State Council of Ndi-Eze, the governor said, “Let me clarify, Ilomuanya is no longer an Eze, he is Mr. Ilomuanya. He is not an Eze and will no longer be an Eze. Let me give you an insight, for the purpose of those who misplace facts. What Illomuanya went to Court for, is to claim that he is still the chairman of Imo State Traditional Rulers Council. First of all, I removed him as Chairman, he wasn’t coming to meetings or attending any function so we removed him as Eze. He went to Court and the Court said status quo should remain which means the last incident should remain which is his removal, which was the last thing that took him to Court. His five years tenure ended 3 years ago, so the issue of tenure is over, he can only ask for entitlement of the tenure.

PoliticsSenate Screens Ibrahim Magu Today by Dinirojones(op): 8:31am On Mar 15, 2017
ABUJA—SENATE President, Bukola Saraki, said yesterday that Acting Chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Mr. Ibrahim Magu, would be screened today as substantive chairman of the anti-graft agency...

Disclosing this at plenary, Saraki said: ”Tomorrow (today), we have the acting chairman of EFCC, who is also appearing before us for screening and it will follow at11:30 am.”

It would be recalled that President Muhammadu Buhari had forwarded Magu’s name to the Senate on June 2016 for confirmation. He was appointed in acting capacity by President Buhari on November 9, 2015, following the sack of his predecessor, Ibrahim Lamorde.

It would be recalled that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, acting as the President while President Muhammadu Buhari was away in London on a 10-day medical vacation in June 6, 2016 had forwarded a letter to the Senate. The letter was a request for the screening and subsequent confirmation of Ibrahim Mustapha Magu, an Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP, as the substantive chairman of the anti-graft agency. Senate President Bukola Saraki read the letter to his colleagues at the Senate Chambers during plenary.
