Many people have been left injured after two high capacity buses on the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) lane crashed into each other in the Asolo, Ikorodu area of Lagos State.
The accident occurred early on Monday, September 2, 2019, according to a statement by the Lagos State Traffic Management Agency (LASTMA).
"An accident involving two high capacity buses on the BRT corridor at Asolo. Traffic building up both ways due to onlookers. Recovery already ongoing," the traffic agency posted on Twitter.


It's unclear how many passengers are injured, but eyewitnesses have reported that some people were taken to the hospital for medical treatment.
The accident comes just a week after a fully-loaded cement truck crashed into a BRT bus, also in Asolo.
The accident left three people dead and 58 others injured.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arrested 12 suspected Internet fraudsters in Lagos.

The suspects-Oluwaseun Ogunbunmi, Haruna Yusuf , Olubori Hassan, Wasiu Idowu, Basit Adeniran, Aina Olajuwon, Okafor Joseph, David Ado, Olamide Ogunseye, Opeyemi Ahmed , Monsuru Amao, Taiwo Rasak- were arrested on Thursday, August 29, 2019 in a rented three-bedroom apartment in the Ikotun area of Lagos, where they used as a Yahoo Yahoo school.

The arrest followed intelligence reports received from concerned members of the public about their alleged criminal activities.

During the raid, some of the suspects attempted to flee by hiding on the roof of their apartment.

Items recovered from the suspects include laptops and mobile phones.
The suspect will soon be charged to court.

Barcelona and Paris St-Germain have “reached an agreement on the value of Neymar” as a deal edges closer, says BBC Radio 5 Live’s Guillem Balague.

Barca have offered 200m euros (£182m) in cash, plus defender Jean-Clair Todibo, midfielder Ivan Rakitic and Ousmane Dembele on a season-long loan.

Officials from both teams met in Paris on Tuesday to discuss a possible deal.

Brazil forward Neymar, 27, joined PSG from Barcelona in 2017 for a world record fee of 222m euros (£200m).

At a news conference on Thursday, PSG boss Thomas Tuchel said Neymar will not be involved in the Ligue 1 game against Metz on Friday.

After the breakthrough in negotiations, it now seems he will rejoin the Nou Camp club before Monday’s La Liga transfer deadline at 23:00 BST.

However, the deal hinges on the three players agreeing on a move to Paris, despite them “not knowing anything about it” being included in the transfer talks.

Balague added: “It is not done. There is still a big bridge to be crossed because none of the three players have said they want to go. Dembele’s agent recently said he is ‘200%’ staying at Barcelona.”

Nice's first game since being taken over by Britain's richest man Sir Jim Ratcliffe descended into chaos after it was temporarily suspended due to banners and chants, MySportDab reports.

Clement Turpin, the referee for the Ligue 1 fixture against Marseille, went to speak with Nice boss Patrick Vieira before concluding the game needed to be halted for 10 minutes while the issue with the supporters behind one of the goals was sorted.

'We can't stop a game every time some idiots do something, otherwise we'll never play, it's nonsense,' Nice midfielder Wylan Cyprien told Canal+ during the stoppage in play.

Concerns were raised five minutes before the decision was made to temporarily suspend the match as the stadium announcer looked toplead with supporters to end insulting behaviour.

'We ask you to stop these insulting remarks, otherwise the match will be interrupted,' the message over the PA system said, as reported by RTL.

Nice's players, led by former Bayern Munich defender Dante, went over to the supporters believed to be the offending party in a bid to strike an agreement to end the taunts.

The Lagos State House Assembly has set up a committee to investigate the purchase of 820 buses by the government of former Governor Akinwunmi Ambode.

The House said it was important to investigate the purchase of the 820 buses out of the 5,000 buses proposed by Ambode for mass transit because the lawmakers objected to the idea originally.

In a motion titled, ‘Lagos State House of Assembly Motion Number 2, member representing Eti Osa 2, Gbolahan Yishawu, stated that the executive proposed to spend N17bn to purchase the buses in the 2017 budget, which was not approved by the Assembly.

“In the 2018 and 2019 budgets, the state government proposed N24bn and N7bn respectively, but these were not approved.

“The state government still went ahead to import 820 buses at N7bn, and out of them, 520 are still awaiting clearance at the ports,” he said.

He added that the House was worried that 520 buses were still awaiting clearance from the bonded warehouse and that they were purchased with taxpayers’ money without approval.
