Against the rampant propaganda that the government of Kogi State is not prompt civil servant salary payment, the governor, Yahaya Bello has been commended by the state chapter of Trade Union Congress, not just for prompt salary payment but also for the implementation of the new minimum wage.

Speaking on Workers' Day in May 2022, the Kogi State Council Chairman of the Trade Union Congress, Comrade Ranti Ojo, praised the governor for implementing the N30,000 minimum wage and ensuring prompt payment of workers' salaries in the state.
