Students from various universities across the country who have been stranded by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) strike have praised Kogi State governor and presidential aspirant Yahaya Bello for his reformation of the state's education sector.

On February 14, this year, the union went on a month-long warning strike, which was extended by another eight weeks and ended on Monday, May 9, 2022, before an indefinite strike was declared. ASUU delegation has met with the government delegation on a few occasions but all ended in deadlock.

During a protest against the unending strike, the students of federal University Lokoja chanted with placards about the delays caused by the disagreement between the Federal Government and ASUU. They complained that while their colleagues at Kogi State University, now known as Prince Audu Abubakar University, are attending classes without obstruction, they have been out of schools for months now with no end in sight.

According to reports, no state-owned institution in Kogi has gone on strike in the last five years. On July 18, 2017, Bello proscribed the Kogi State chapter of ASUU after the government was unable to force academic staff to return to class despite several appeals.

It's believed that the governor is been sought after by young Nigerians for his exceptional education model and security system.

A responsive Government is known for its decisions. One of the prompt and very decisive decisions taken by Alh Yahaya Bello led government is to proscribe ASUU to ensure that student of Kogi State owned institutions enjoys a non-interference academic activities. This has absolved the worries of undergraduates staying at home when the government and this academic body are shredded with impasse.

Thank you Gov Yahaya Bello.

ASUU has caused more harm to the students than good. Let work collectively to shun ASUU.
GYB did it and you can. #Hope23

Yẹyẹ Bello

Meanwhile, the last time University staff salary was increased was 2009 when dollars was 100+

IMAGINE RECEIVING THE SAME SALARY FOR 12 YEARS ....

PEOPLE THAT WERE PAID 120K NAIRA THEN COULD SAY THEIR SALARY IS UP TO A THOUSAND DOLLARS. TODAY, EVEN IF THEY'RE GETTING 500K NAIRA (which is impossible. Highest the maybe 300k), THEIR SALARY IS NOT EVEN UP TO A THOUSAND DOLLARS.

One thing about Yahaya Bello is that he uses illiterates, blockheads and intellectual imbeciles for his campaign. This idiot typing nonsense is an example.

Yahaya or yahoo bello will even do better than Tinubu. Lagos looted funds is enough to settle the demands of ASUU rather Tinubu is converting the money in Dollars and sharing up and down state to state on delegates.

Nigerian students... Also try not to forget Ozumba Mbadiwe 20-10-2020 when u guys were on lock down during #EndSars,
Tinubu ordered the Nigerian Army to kill u people and a total of 807 Nigerian students were killed on the orders of Tinubu.

Nigerian students be wise.

The federal government must end this current strike. The effect of the strike might affect the next election.
