I still can't think of why I would waste money and buy a macbook. My current windows pc is just perfect.

It uses a 9cell battery which lasts up to 9 hours and its replacement battery is readily available in Lagos.

512gb ssd hard drive


And it cost less than 200k, a similar configuration on a mac would cost about 600k

@ovosoftware thank God you said professionals. I'm still a beginner so you can understand the way I still view things. I compare based on their prices in ascending other. The money I would use to buy a mac of 2gb ram can get a decent Alienware pc.

I develop Web apps, so the only place I think that kind of a moster spec would be feasible is only on a server.

The op should also talk about his budget, to get more specific suggestions.

Yh that was just the language it was written with, you would need to install ruby before you can use. It has its own command you will be using

@op just buy decent a laptop with atleast 4gb ram. Then you can upgrade it later by increasing the ram and swapping the hard disk with a ssd.

I would rather continue to dual boot Windows and Linux on my pc than to get a mac which is overpriced....

There are also tools like Capistrano https://github.com/capistrano/capistrano which can help easily reverse from one version of your code to another. But I'm yet to look at it, I just prefer git alone

^^^that is the ultimate solution in this age and time, if you do not wish to do it the manual way - which i have explained. However, like i said earlier, different means exist for doing the same thing depending on situation.

For example, there are times when i am called in to fix the source code of an existing live website - just sharp fix and waka go and i do not have access to source code and all that, in those kind of scenarios, i am denied of my usual tools and need to improvise (in some cases, i am not even allowed to use my pc).

Fix code on live server ke? At the last place I worked we had 3 environments edge, staging and finally live

I didn't try it though. I only searched for it on true caller cos it looks like a regular Nigerian mobile number, and behold, DORCAS popped up.
