When we speak about goal scoring ability, there are some players who just bang them in for fun for example Sergio Aguero. Unfortunately other players who still call themselves strikers go for months and sometimes years without finding the net, they include former Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner among others. Now over the years great strikers has created history by scoring five times in a single match. This is simply not because the opponents were poor but rather sheer brilliance. Now let us take a look at 10 stars who will be remembered by history for having 5 times in a single match; 10. Luiz Adriano (Shakhtar Donetsk vs BATE Borisov, October 1st , 2014) AC Milan striker Luiz Adriano demolished BATE Borisov in Uefa Champions League group stage match in 2014 by netting five times. The forward joined Barcelona star Lionel Messi in the list of players who has scored five goals in a single match in the European competition. It is important to mention that he was playing for Ukranian side Shakhtar Donetsk when he scored the goals. 9. Jermain Defoe (Tottenham vs Wigan, November 23rd, 2009) Sunderland striker Jermain Defoe has scored goals for fun everywhere he has been. He enjoyed a great spell under Harry Redknapp at Tottenham Hotspurs and it is during this time that he banged five goals in a 9-1 win over Wigan Athletics 23rd November 2009. 8. Dimitar Berbatov ( Manchester United vs Blackburn Rovers, November 27th, 2010) The Class striker Dimitar Berbatov found the net five times against Blackburn Rovers in 2010 to help Manchester United emerge 7-1 victors. The Bulgarian who was well known for his gold touch did not score as many goals as his manager Sir Alex Ferguson would have liked but on his day he could beat any goalkeeper. 7. Alan Shearer (Newcastle vs Sheffield Wednesday, September 19th, 1999) Premier League and Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer scored 283 goals in his career, 260 of them coming through the league. They also included 58 penalties and 11 hat-tricks. Now it is easier for you to understand why it was so difficult for Sheffield Wednesday to stop him from scoring 5 times in 1999. 6. Radamel Falcao (Atletico Madrid v Deportivo La Curona, December 9th, 2012) AS Monaco striker Radamel Falcao might be in decline but during his days, the Columbian was a force to reckon with. Take a for instance during his time at Atletico Madrid, he smashed 5 past Deportivo La Curona. Time surely flies. Whenever a career starts there are high expectations out of it. Many young players always work hard to prove that they can get to the top no matter what but unfortunately some have incurred a permanent setback. Below are some of the best players whose career ended prematurely. 3. Ben Collet- Manchester United Nothing big to say about him because the then youngster never made a single senior appearance for his club. After fine displays through the youth ranks at Manchester United, a calling finally came to feature in a game for the reserves against Middleborough. After minutes of play a horror tackle from Gray Smith not only ended the debutant’s game but also his career. Five years later Ben was compensated £4.5millions by Middleborough and Gary Smith for the damages caused on the youngster’s career in that he was not going to play soccer again. This was decided after a court hearing and it explains well why a barely known name like this one appears on this list. 2. Dean Ashton This former English international was surely destined for great things. Many big teams were eager to acquire the services of the Crewe Alexandria academy graduate. Though he missed out on a slot for the World Cup 2006, his national duty call up came in the same year and while in training compatriot Wright Phillips’ mistimed tackle broke his ankle resulting into zero appearances the next season He however managed to make 35 more appearances after his injury but after several consultave meetings with the doctor he was advised to quit the game because he was risking not walking again. The world's most expensive player will not get the opportunities he had at Juventus to impress in Jose's current restrictive strategy From minute one it was clear that Manchester United were never going to be able to compete with Manchester City in a football sense in Saturday’s derby defeat. Pep Guardiola’s team are far closer to the version he’d like than is true for Jose Mourinho and United. All Mourinho could do was return to the methods which drew ire and blood during those infamous Clasico battles of yore. He asked his men to be more aggressive after dropping two goals behind. There were bookings for untidy, sometimes violent, tackles on the part of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Marouane Fellaini and Wayne Rooney. At one stage – after Paul Pogba had come off second best in a 50-50 - Jose turned to his bench, clenched his teeth and smashed the fist of one hand into the palm of the other. He was pleading for more - it was a derby, after all - for more desire to win the tackle, more commitment, and more body-on-the-line football in the middle. The Manchester City players left it all out on the pitch as they beat rivals Manchester United 2-1 at Old Trafford, with defender Aleksandar Kolarov sacrificing a little more for the cause than the rest his team-mates. First-half goals from Kevin De Bruyne and Kelechi Iheanacho were enough for Pep Guardiola’s side to secure three points, but they had to defend in the second period as they came under pressure after Zlatan Ibrahimovic grabbed a goal back. Defender Kolarov played his part in the defensive effort as City survived to claim victory at the home of their rivals, but in doing so the Serbian international finished the game minus one of his two front teeth.
