Former Governor of Abia State Orji Uzor Kalu has topped the chart of jet owners in Nigeria as he acquires a brand new Gulfstream G650 model private worth almost N12 billion.
The Jet arrived at Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos, from New York, yesterday, Thursday, Sept 18 .
The G650 jet is noted for its fastest speed, largest cabin and the most advanced cockpit in the Gulfstream fleet.
In Nov. 2013,  former Borno State Governor, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff also bought a Gulfstream jet G650 model.

Immediately Owelle Rochas Okorocha was inaugurated as the Governor of Imo State, He hired Chief Arthur Eze's Private Jet for His movement in and out of the country, and subsequently bought Gulfstream V from a USA company from Imo state Treasure. The Private Jet often Parked at the Hangers of Sam Mbakwe Cargo Airport and the Pilots and Air hostelry Lodged at Lammorde Hotel, later moved to Concorde Hotel and finally to Rockview hotel, but was recently discovered to have both (the plane and it's workers) disappeared from Imo state and my Governor now hires commercial Jets for his movements raises eyebrows.

My worries as a concerned imo citizen.

Why did the USA company take back the Jet ?

Is there breach of contract or agreement?

Has Imo money gone that way? Or

Is there any fraud somewhere ?

Imo State Commissioner of Information and that of Transport should please come up with answers to clear the Air. Thanks.

A truck-load of bush meat suspected to be monkey meat smuggled into the country by a yet to be identified smuggler, yesterday, was destroyed by operatives of Kaduna and Katsina command of the Nigerian Custom Service.

According to Customs Comptroller of Federal Operations Unit (FOU, Zone B), Maina Tijjani Suleiman, the truck was intercepted Thursday morning at the Katsina border.

Suleiman also said the truck contained 351 bags of bush meat and that each of the bags weighed 100Kg, stressing that the seized meat may have come from Libya, according to reports from leadership.

He explained that the seizure was necessary in view of the current challenge of the dreaded Ebola disease, noting that had the meat made its way to Nigerian markets, “only God will tell the extent of damage it may cause.”
He warned importers of similar products to desist from doing such or face the full wrath of the law, assuring that the customs would not shirk from its responsibility of supporting the ongoing fight against Ebola.

“The driver abandoned the vehicle and ran away after he was chased by our men. But then, some hoodlums attempted to attack our men and it took the reinforcement of operatives before the truck was retrieved.”

In a speech, the Katsina State commissioner of health, Mannir Talba, who lauded operatives of Nigerian customs for the seizure, said it was the needed step in the collective resolve to prevent the spread of Ebola.

Patrick Sawyer's widow,Decontee has reacted to the death of Dr Stella Adadevoh who died after trying to treat Mr.Sawyer.She has also apologised for offending Nigerians with her open letter which claimed her husband came here because he needed  medical help  . She told Leadership.ng

Ebola didn’t start with Patrick in Liberia, as we both know. Ebola was in Liberia from a traveller from Guinea since February of this year. The government knew about it and did nothing. Many Liberians, including me, called out to the government then to close the borders. They didn’t do so until one of their own, Patrick (Sawyer), died in July. Many people died before Patrick and their lives were just as important. That is my frustration. Ebola didn’t have to go to Nigeria, Africa’s most populated country, had the Liberian government taken drastic actions sooner. Eyirieyi Obohia 2014 has come and gone. The ODA, the umbrella body currently championing the development of Obohia, in consultation with the traditional rulers in Obohia, decided that Eyirieyi2014 will be low-keyed. It was decided that there will be no Ekpe dance as a mark of respect for the late Monsignor Okoro, who revived and reformed Eyirieyi Obohia after the Civil war, when our people were at crossroads about the status of the ceremony. The usual entertainments will go on in peoples' homes. Of course Eze Chidume Okoro was not part of it. You will recall that as a punishment for desecrating Eyirieyi 2013 he was barred from participating in Eyirieyi activities for 5years by the ODA . But he decided to dare Obohia people's common resolve. He went ahead to set his own paraphernalia for Eyirieyi -
Invited his fellow Ezes, set up canopies at Nkwo Obohia , hired chairs for his guests, arranged for Policemen,nkponala to announce his triumphant return, then attended the Eyirieyi Mass with his cabinet. Incidentally before the mass was over the ODA had accepted the challenge, dismantled the entire paraphernalia and taken back control of Nkwo Obohia with superior security apparatus. Phone calls for over one hour yielded no results as those ignorant of the ban his invitees were directed by the stern-looking Policemen to go and celebrate quietly with their Ezes or in their homes.
It is no gain saying the fact that Obohia needs peace. Incidentally our forefathers made peace during the period.
