Nairaland GeneralWhat Arouses Your Nostalgia? by dkc(op): 4:11pm On Jun 17, 2012
To me its:
When improvements in technology like the gsm wchich reminds me of how I'll take a cab to nitel, buy credit unit and queue in the phone booth for my turn to make calls or beg neighbours who were able to afford the old rotary dial desk phone.

Sometimes, when i put on my tv in the mornings, I remember those days you have to wait till 4pm, listen to the national anthem first before watching black and white tv. Their programs, were mostly not live except news, or you watch movies on vhs players or play phonograph.

Things I will appreciate, cherish, avoid, fear, respect, regard, etc as a child then are treated with disdain by current generation children.

Add yours cheesy cheesy cheesy

the msgs from the video are as true as life, if you don't like it then stop it, point blank. it has nothing to do with god, point blank, it is a habit just like other human habits, point blank.
guys i mean we don't need another human to verify for us what is good or bad. use ur mind people. it is all about mind over matter. if you mind it matters but if you don't mind then it doesn't matter. this is the simplest reality any free human should know. anyway, religion is all about mind control of the masses that is why humas today still  depend on a man-written erroneous history book for guidance.
Dat means i won't mind when committing adultery, fornication, murder, etc grin
Christianity EtcRe: Pastor Chris Oyakhilome- self-service Is Not A Sin. by dkc(m): 10:16pm On Feb 20, 2012
Self-service i believe is pleasurable to those who practice it. everyday we strive towards pleasing God by trying to avoid sinful acts or things that won't please God. if it's now not a sin against God, then this should be good news for masturbators wink
Nairaland GeneralIt Is In Love: by dkc(op): 8:13am On Feb 01, 2012
It is in love-
not in being loved, the heart is blest;
It is in giving- not in seeking gifts,
we find our quest.

If thou art hungry, lacking heavenly food, -
give hope and cheer.
If thou art sad and wouldst be comforted,
Stay sorrow's tear.

Whatever be thy longing and thy need-
that do thou give;
So shall thy soul be fed, and
Thou indeed, shalt truly live.

Wishing You The Best Peeps.
PoliticsDiscrepancies On Subsidy Figures. Interesting! by dkc(op): 3:16pm On Jan 28, 2012
I just saw this post by a friend n felt like sharing.
Subsidy probe drama.

Enjoy the Drama!!!

Hon.Farouk Lawan: what is Nigeria’s daily fuel consumption?
Dieziani: 52million Liters
NNPC: 35m liters
DPR: 43m liters
PPPRA: 24M liters
Okonjo: 40M liters
Hon.Farouk Lawan: What was the subsidy for 2011?
Dieziani: 1.4Trillion
Okonjo: 1.3Trillion
CBN: 1.7Trillion
Hon.Farouk Lawan: Can we have the KPMG REPORT?
Okonjo: I have to go through the report first
Dieziani: I have not seen the report
Hon.Farouk Lawan: What is the production capacity of our local refineries?’
NNPC: 30%
PPPRA: 20%
DPR: 13%
Dieziani: 15%
Hon.Farouk Lawan: Does Nigeria pay subsidy on locally refined Products?
Dieziani: it depends
NNPC: The lay man cannot understand how it’s done
PPPRA: yes
DPR: No
Hon.Farouk Lawan: Why is Kerosene still scarce?
Dieziani: Because its use by the aviation industry as aviation fuel
NNPC: Because there is no subsidy so NNPC overstretched its resources
PPPRA: it’s not properly deregulated
Hon.Farouk Lawan: what is the balance in the subsidy accounts?
Diezieni: it’s a virtual account
NNPC: There is no account in existence as the lay man will look at it
PPPRA: The account is a technical one
CBN: There is no account with us for subsidy
Okonjo: The account exists but not with a bank. Hmm, subsidy account is virtual, that says its not a Reality but imagination. So Tam David west is right when He said there is no "Fuel subsidy". grin

bvc:
My first day in office, i will invite the 50 best electricity companies in the world so they can give suggestions and quotations that i will personally scrutinise and choose the best 5 of different sources. pay them in percentages as they get to work with a time limit of 6months maximum to deliver atleast 98% electricity to the whole country. secondly, i will make a decree that every one plot of land in urban areas should have a tree. thirdly, every geopolitical zone will have a mechanised farming system of atleast a hundred hectres, these will feed the country. i will not take loans, grants or aids from foreign countries or bodies, we will learn to manage what we have(a borrower is a slave to the lender). foreign investors with businesses that will better the country will have a no-charge licence as long as they train Nigerians to manage their affairs. oil companies licences that are currently renewed every 40years will be revoked, they will renew yearly, stop spillage and train Nigerians as expertriates,
remember, decrees don't work in a democratic setting, besides, all your proposals have to pass through the national assembly.

Dear Nairalanders, we often castigate past and present governments/presidents, vis-a-vis corruption, weakness, tyrant, etc. I'm not commending them for whatever woes they've brought upon the country but as a nigerian who is honest with his/her self, if you had the opportunity to become the president of Nigeria, what will you to do develop the country to be named amongst the best in the world and how long will it take you to achieve this feats. Contributors should be those with reasonable knowledge of the country, have travelled through most of the geopolitical zones and have an idea of the myriads of problems we are facing now. Thank You.
