I was in this situation from 23rd to 30th of Dec (2015) and I was relieved when I changed from 3g to edge. So I will advice you to change from 3g to edge.

Nigeria has made history in the global space
technology market by becoming the first country in
the Sub-Sahara Africa to manage a
foreign satellite.
This followed the emergence of Nigerian
Communications Satellite (NigComSat) limited, the
operator of NigComSat-R, the Nigerian
Communication Satellite as the winner of a bidding
process to provide In-Orbit test (IOT) and carrier
Spectrum Monitoring (CSM) services for
Belintersat-1 Satellite.
This was announced by China Great Industries
Corporation (CGWIC), a renowned satellite
manufacturing company in China and a technical
partner to NigComSat.
The Head Public Affairs, NigComSat, Adamu Idris,
who revealed this on Wednesday during a media
parley in Abuja, said the operation will
commence on 16 January 2016, the official date
for the launch of the Belintersat-1 in Belarus and
will last for a period of 15 years.
Adamu said the bid was a keenly contested
exercise between Nigeria and other bidders with
over 20 years of experience in satellite
management.
According to the General manager satellite
Operations, NigComsat, Danjuma Ndihgihdah,
Nigeria won the bid due to the high capacity of her
ground facility at NigComSat base in Abuja, her
human capacity resource, and the confidence
reposed in NigComSat by the Chinese giant
(CGWIC).
With this feat, Nigeria becomes the first African
nation to compete at the international stage as a
major player in space technology.
Idris said, the winning of the bid by Nigeria
represents a milestone for the country and a clear
manifestation that NigComSat and indeed Nigeria
has developed the capacity to provide highly
technical services in the satellite communication
industry.
On the benefits derivable from the leasing services,
he said Nigeria would rake in revenue from the 15
years service provision to
Belarus and build more capacity for Nigerian
engineers, as well as open more frontiers for
Nigeria as a global player in the space.
In addition to the traditional services of
transponder leasing, he stated that NigComSat
would be providing broadband services, enterprise
solutions, secured communications and solutions
amongs others over Nigeria and other 35 African
countries such as Gabon, Cote D’Ivore and Ghana.
On security, he said that the agency has been
offering the security agencies with communication
services.
Belintersat-1 is a communication satellite owned
by the government of Belarus, manufactured and
due for launch in January 2016 by CGWIC.
The NigComsat-1R was launched in November
2011, as a replacement to the NigComSat-1
shortly it was de-orbited by the agency at no cost
following its technical failure.
It was designed as a regional satellite with four
bands to serve about 35 African countries.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Communications will be
leading Nigerian delegation to witness the launch
of the Belintersat-1 in January 2016, and to
discuss other related partnerships and ways to
further improve, deepen and strengthen the Sino-
Nigeria relationship.

A lot of people here are calling Eutelsat 7 west Nilesat. Eutelsat 7 west satellite is different from Nilesat though they are at the same position. The transponder that is hosting MBC on Nilesat is 11938 V 27500 while Eutelsat 7 west (NWA beam) is 11559 V 27500. MBC on Nilesat is receivable with nothing less than 2.4m dish except at the northern Nigeria but Eutelsat 7 west (NWA beam) is receivable with 90cm. So let not mislead any one here.

I had a surprise today. While walking through Onitsha town today. My eyes beheld a surprise. A 4.5m offset dish in a scrap yard. The type banks uses for their server. Just behind it too is a 2m offset dish too at the same scrap yard. I was hiding my excitement so that i wont tip them off on my excitement. The 4.5m is petalized while the 2m dish is not. But there was a problem. One of the petal arm of the dish is missing. I told them though non challatly to look for the missing parts that i might do them a favour to come and pick the scraps up. To me. It is no longer a scrap material. Coming days or weeks will surely reveal more.

... lucky you. I have been looking for 2.4m of the same make but could n't find it within my location. I'm desperately in need of 2.4m offset type due to space constraint in the compound where I live.

I want you to look carefully and tell me how many people are on this picture.

according to your very precious referred page, majority of the comments there are faced same problem.though deleting mytv transponder won't solve but limit my viewing power.so having at least 2.00p and above patched firmware version which seems not available for now for my box even at crosat and Persian would definitely put the wahala to rest. I must confess straight from my heart that I really appreciate your effort and your prompt response.thanks a bunch!

I will advice that you do as it was suggested for you to do. Those people that complained didn't get it right, and I want you to try it and report back to the house. It worked for me and others. Take a look at Adielcy's suggestion and the screenshot of my post on page 285... I believed they will be of help to you.

@ Dlee1 and oluchicago, I must say the situation has turned me into a rookie.....once I'm on 1.13p and I click on TVC news and other chanells having same tp which is not even stable, my box detects " new sw" and If I fail to disable OTA before switching off my box?! Then I have to succumb to mytv update of 2.13 p though I will enjoy tvc at a very stable condition without tv3 multitv cos its not patched. I'm just stocked!.somebody advised I should downgrade each time it does that and that's just what I've been doing with high risk of frying my box. I don't even know how to explain it... I'm just tired!

thanks for your suggestion. It never crossed my mind to use that app though I have downloaded the application on my lappy. I have finally opened the SRT4950H 3.39p firmware with the password Sameer sent to me.

This was posted in the afternoon today by Sameer the author of 3.39p firmware for SRT4950H. Zoom the first image below and you will see that the firmware was actually posted today. For Sameer to have posted his email address for someone who is in need of the firmware to contact him shows that he is not in good terms with wizkid. Later in the day, I also visited Jamiiforum and I saw a discussion between hayley9alex and wayachi and you can see the second image below. Then this evening, I visited this thread and I was surprised to see your comment claiming that the firmware was locked as a result of our noise about Strong firmwares from them, thanks.

@all if you are using strong decoder, like 4669xii or 4922 series and you want to be recieving key from champions tv network via OTA, then go to your OTA option on your decoder and set this TP 11008 V 05000 and save it, you will be recieving biss key automatically, my friend is watching it now, champions tv, redlight, biafra tv, MBC and so many more all these on strong decoder

Champion TV have been free for long now.
