BIOGRAPHY OF TIMOTHY DALTON FILMS "THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS" 1987. "LICENCE TO KILL" 1989. BIOGRAPHY Timothy Dalton is remembered as the actor who channelled the more ruthless, hard-edged James Bond found in Ian Fleming’s original novels. Born in Colwyn Bay, Wales, in 1946, Dalton trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and his stage work quickly marked him out as an actor of tremendous presence Initially approached to play Bond in 1968 – which he declined because he was just 25 at the time – Dalton finally slipped into 007’s tuxedo in 1987 and became the fourth actor in the series, starring in two films that offered a darker, conflicted but no less seductive 007.

This year also marks the 54th anniversary of when the James Bond series made its debut to film. I am going to discuss the evolution of the suave, quixotic agent whom we all know and love. Sean Connery played in the Bond movies “ Dr. No” (1962), “ From Russia With Love ” (1963), “ Goldfinger” (1964), “ Thunderball ” (1965), “ You Only Live Twice ” (1967) “ Diamonds Are Forever” (1971) and the forgettable “ Never Say Never Again ” (1983).Connery set the stage for Bonds to follow, as he was the first Bond character portrayed in film, excluding the spoof “ Casino Royale ,” a film most viewers consider not a part of the Bond franchise. He labeled Bond with the characteristics that we all think of when watching the 007 films: classy, ruthless, captivating, witty, sexy, rugged and up to the task. Honor Blackman , the Bond girl Pussy Galore who starred in “Goldfinger” with Connery, said ,"[Connery] was exceedingly handsome, virile and sexy and that really was the tenor of what the script was always trying to display." Connery’s character launched the 007 franchise, and most fans consider him the quintessential Bond. Being a bodybuilder, he brought a frame that blended believability to his 007 status. However, without the looks and charm, the character would have fallen flat. George Lazenby played in the Bond movie “ On Her Majesty’s Secret Service” (1969). This was Lazenby’s only Bond film. Lazenby had the un-admirable task, yet highly sought-after opportunity, of playing the next Bond following Connery’s departure from the role. At the tender age of 29, many Bond fans considered him too young to play the role of a traveled, highly sophisticated secret agent. Being an Australian model did not help his case, so the deck was definitely stacked against Lazenby. “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service” was an excellent Bond movie portrayed by an unbelievable Aussie who was not quite up to the task. He could have had a longer run with the character, but bad advice from his manager and a somewhat arrogant attitude led to Lazenby’s premature departure from the role. Roger Moore played in the Bond movies “ Liveand Let Die” (1973), “ The Man With The GoldenGun” (1974), “ The Spy Who Loved Me ” (1977),“ Moonraker ” (1979), “ For Your EyesOnly ” (1981), “ Octopussy ” (1983) and “ A View To A Kill” (1985). Moore's interpretation of Bond brought a lighthearted, less lethal, cartoonish persona to the already well-established 007 franchise. He was known as a pacifist prior to his establishedrole, and that came across during his tenure as Bond. While Moore's films are considered less serious, his stylized approach paved the way for the next few Bonds to feel more comfortable with their own interpretation of the agent. After the departure of Lazenby, Bond fans were treated to more than a decade of Moore's charisma, and he holds a dear place in many of their hearts. Timothy Dalton played in the Bond movies “ The Living Daylights” (1987) and “ License to Kill” (1989). Dalton was originally at the top of a very concise list to portray Bond many years earlier, but due to his young age, he felt he did not have the maturity yet for the role. He is a serious stage actor and took his craft with a sense of great pride. After the cartoonish years of Moore, Dalton brought a seriousness back to the role. He most closely translated Ian Fleming 's imagining of Bond from page to screen. However, there was backlash as people had grown accustomed to Moore and generally did not appreciate his immense skill in the role. Though he only stared in two films, Dalton's recipe for Bond is evidently reflected in our current 007 secret agent, Daniel Craig. Pierce Brosnan played in the Bond movies“ GoldenEye” (1995), “ Tomorrow Never Dies” (1997), “ The World Is Not Enough ” (1999) and “ Die Another Day ” (2002). Brosnan, like Dalton, had been courted for the part years earlier, but due to his obligations to the television show " Remington Steel ," he was unavailable until 1995. Brosnan coveted the role of James Bond and was ecstatic upon being chosen. He has a natural charisma and charm which translates well to the big screen. But changing times and poor writing offset what could have been something truly great. Brosnan's 007 films are forgettable, and it is a shame because given a greater opportunity, he could have had some of the finest. Daniel Craig played in the Bond movies “ CasinoRoyale ” (2006), “ Quantum of Solace ” (2008), “ Skyfall” (2012) and “ Spectre ” (2015). Craig is the current MI6 agent, and he fits the part well. When he was originally picked to play the role, there was tremendous backlash due to his blonde hair and under six-foot frame. However, Craig's imposing build and high level of skill as an actor brought, for the first time, a true believability to the character. He embodies a strength and vulnerability unlike anything we have seen to date with the 007 franchise. "Casino Royale" is arguably the best film in the franchise for good reason. "Quantum of Solace," although well-acted, fell very short for the high bar that had been set. Craig's new film "Spectre" is his second paring with director Sam Mendes , previous director of "Skyfall." "Skyfall" was generally well-received and is the highest grossing Bond film to date, but that is subject to change. Craig is coming to the end of his service as 007, and the door will soon open for someone else to play the most revered character in film history.

Snakeskin has become the latest must-have and designer labels including Jimmy Choo, Donna Karan, Mulberry, Gucci, Prada, Roberto Cavalla and Yves Saint Laurent have all used it in coats, bags and boots. Celebrities such as Kylie Minogue, who was recently photographed with a python skin handbag, and Sienna Miller, seen in snakeskin boots, are encouraging an illicit trade that can have terrible consequences for fragile eco-systems around the world. Python shoes, boots, belts, jackets and skirts are being fashioned from snakes’ skin. The fashion industry insists the skins are farmed (as if this is less cruel) but this is completely untrue. There is a thriving illegal trade in South- East Asia and South America. The regional program officer in South-East Asia for Traffic, an international monitoring network says” "I have been to visit dozens of so-called python 'farms' but only one of them was breeding pythons. The rest were using the farms as a cover for pythons caught in the wild." South East Asian countries like Thailand, Cambodia, China and Vietnam claim to farm snakes. But trade watchers say that there cannot be any snake farms because pythons take too long to mature and are too expensive to rear in captivity. These farms simply pay villagers per snake they catch from the wild. The myth that villagers grow snakes and depend on them for their livelihood is also untrue as they are paid so little per snake that farming is not a viable option. Unfortunately, while governments know that the snake farms are a myth, they allow these snake skins to be “ legal”. More than 350,000 skins of the reticulated python species were legally imported into the EU in 2005 and this has increased in the next three years. There is no record of snake farms raising so many adult snakes a year. The illegal trade is at least that large. Which proves that over 1 million snakes have been caught in the wild yearly for Europe and America. 1985 to 1998, the last year for which data are available from that country, Indonesia exported more than 4.5 million pythons, either skinned or alive. Snakes are caught in the wild at 3-4 years old in Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, India and the Philippines. They are sent to the manufacturing markets of the U.S., EU, Canada and China. This fashion trend is disastrous for one of the world's longest, most magnificent and least threatening snakes. It is already resulting in plagues of rats (their prey) in South-East Asia and Africa. To convert pythons into profits, Indonesia's snake-harvesting industry relies on an army of catchers who work in groups in the jungles and grassland, settings nets, traps and baited hooks for the blood pythons and the larger reticulated pythons. Captured snakes are stored in canvas bags and sold to primitive skinning plants. In Indonesia alone the industry employs about 175,000 people of which 150,000 are snake catchers – which proves that that “farmed” snakes are a myth. The rest are skinners and international sales agents, according to the Indonesian Reptile and Amphibian Trade Association, which represents licensed tanneries and reptile-product exporters. Snakes killed for their skin are often nailed to trees and skinned alive before being tossed into a pile to die. They can suffer for days before succumbing to shock or dehydration. Pythons often have a hose inserted into their mouth and are pumped full of water to make them easier to skin.

Nick Cannon is apparently cool with Mariah Carey's plans to remarry . The 35-year-old comedian took to Instagram on Saturday to congratulate his ex-wife and her new beau, Australian billionaire businessman James Packer, on their engagement in a "hilarious" way. Cannon -- who has joked about his relationship with Carey plenty of times since they called it quits -- poked fun at himself by sharing a fan-created meme that shows him on a hospital bed with Kevin Hart by his side. The photo, which was taken from their BET faux-reality show, Real Husbands of Hollywood, reads "It's just a ring Nick..." "Ha! This made me laugh out loud for real!!! HILARIOUS! #AllLove," Cannon captioned it. "Congrats to @MariahCarey and James! May God Bless Your Future Union...#GreatPeople #GreatCouple." https://www.yahoo.com/tv/nick-cannon-reacts-mariah-careys-195700858.html
