I have a Csat 8 Pro+ and I have a strong decoder and I have been pluging the Strong decoder for ages without issues.
I bought Csat 8 Pro+ and within 2 months the decoder exploded like bomb on the same socket that I have been using on my Strong Decoder.

Mine was fixed and is still working on heavy step down and stabilizer.

I have advised people to run away from that decoder but some people who have not even own one will be attacking.

What are you stepping down? Is it the same amount you bought strong u bought csat? It's cheaper so you should know you take more precaution!

Can Media star Ms2727 be compared to CSAT 8+ pro in terms of specifications/functions?

Both have its ups and downs. Ms2727 has the acclaimed forever server but some users have claimed it doesn't save biss key and it cracks on multistream channels (though I heard they released a software to fix the later) whereas csat doesn't autoroll biss key but porting another software STB firmware can fix that.
Csat has a good tuner and hypersensitive (can be used for tracking)

Don't mind people telling you nothing is wrong with csat. They are talking from installer point of view. The panel is nothing to write home about.

You can try mediastar Ms2727 for low budget

I'm not an installer! I'm stating my point of view having used csat for awhile. I've ported various STB firmware on it and the board is still intact. I wonder were you got the assertion that the board isn't good. You should understand it's a cheap decoder so surges tend to affect it more that's why I advise disconnecting it from mains when not in use.

Not powering up, so I thought it's power and tried using the adaptor to power it. it came up but was not responding to control. It was taken to engineer, the panel was changed but all to no positive result.

It might have probably be software issue in as much it powers on. Not all engineers understand how this decoders work. Since you've used csat and you had issues with it, I'd advise against aster because it uses same board, you can go for the tiger series.

There's really nothing bad about the decoder. Just make sure when not in use, disconnect it from the mains. The tuner is great and it's hypersensitive(can be used to track)

I have warned people here to avoid that decoder and some dealer here came over me.

There's nothing wrong with the decoder, it's a good decoder for its price range.

I'm planning to buy Star time for sport. Or buy decoder that support ccscam. Pls which is more better?

You should have gotten a fibre dish. Net dish isn't good in attracting signal. You can try 10e 46e cband 13e

Signal loss/weak reception is a very complicated problem with strong Decoder but it rarely occurs. What you need to do:

Try download a different software version from the once you have in your current decoder. This is to check if it is a software problem.

If it persist then you might need to check the hardware but because the recent decoder panels are just complicated and most Nigeria technicians do not have the technical know-how to handle it then you may need to buy a new decoder.

With your budget of 10K you can get a C-sat decoder for 7K.

Note: I had early in my previous post here supported and condemned C-sat 8 pro decoders but if you must get one then do the following:

Get a good surge protect switch, stabilizer or better still place in under UPS.

Good Luck.

Stabilizer and UPS can't protect decoder from surges. If you can not get a surge arrester, then always disconnect the decoder from mains when not in use

Download the software from strong website, copy into a clean flash and rename to rom.bin
Switch off the decoder and insert the flash drive
Switch on the decoder while pressing the standby button, the upgrade should be done. They are reliable but it's selling point is the forever server if you have a big dish.

I took it to a technician who tested and said that the signal is ok but when plugged back home it goes off air. Just Tuesday,the installer came back to do the installation, after 3hours battle, he installed Eutelsat 5w and Astra 2 but after the machine was switched off, the signal all gone again.

He suggested I buy a new decoder.

Please I need advice on which that will give me that desired satisfaction?
Pls I need to buy one today. Can't afford to stay "noiseless". My budget is N10k or less

If your budget is 10k or less go for csat c8 pro+

Why not try reloading the firmware and if that doesn't work probably the tuner has issue. From the sat u tracking it seems you have a bud, buy a forever server decoder like mediastar, tiger, etc because the latest strong 497s doesn't support patch for biss, cccam, powervu,etc.
