Hello everyone,

I am here to say thank you to all that contributed meaningfully to this thread. I followed the thread quietly from about September 2015. I am happy to inform the house that i am now in the Netherlands as i arrived here 1st of February 2017, Rotterdam Business School to be precise. Please note that the Rotterdam Business School is the Business Faculty for the Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences.

The Rotterdam Business School currently offers Masters in Finance nd Accounting, Masters in Logistics and Management and lastly Masters in Consultancy and Entrepreneurship which is what i am studying. All three masters programmes are for a duration of one year.

Rotterdam is a brilliant city, the Netherlands is a great country, super developed.

Education and life at the Rotterdam Business School is student centered and inline with international best practice.

Finally application, admission and visa procedures at the Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences is very easy and straightforward. You will need your first degree certificates, first degree transcripts and IELTS. Once they give you admission, they will send you an invoice and you are given a deadline date to pay the tuition fees which is about 11,000Euros. You will also pay for health insurance and visa fee as well. Mine came up to a total of just over 14,000Euros.

Now you think of maintenance funds. Your Nigerian bank account or Family member bank account must show not less than 10,350Euros as the balance when printing the statement. You send this to them visa DHL. Alternatively, you can wire the 10,350Euros to the University and they will give you your money when you arrive the Netherlands.

The next step is that the Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences will apply for your Visa from the IND.

The IND approves your Visa and they ask you to go and pick up your visa at the Kingdom of the Netherlands embassy in Ghana.

You then go on the Dutch embassy in Ghana website and book an appointment to get your visa stamped on your Nigeria passport.

Best of luck, hope this will help someone. Thank you.

Ik ben blij en opgewonden.

Hello emmerks. I have also been accepted to Fontys. I would like to know if you had any problems because of the Bank Statement they ask for.
I have made the payment(Tuition fees, Visa application fees, insurance and deposit for IND) but I'm worried that they might decline my visa application because of the Bank Statement. Everything seems to be in order on my Bank Statement(three documents) but I would like to have some reassurance. I did the bank statement with the same money that I used to pay the school. I would like to know if that will be a problem.

@xkris11 and @pdesmond1 , I would very much appreciate your help as well.

Thank you everyone who contributed to this thread, it really helped me, but some of the regulations seem to have changed now.
Please reply as soon as possible. Thanks.

Hello Jsaunders,

Please i have a question about Netherlands admission/maintenance visa requirements. I just got my admission at a Netherlands University.

Can i put the maintenance fees of 10,350Euros in my Nigerian bank account, then print out my bank statement after one month and then immediately remit same funds to the University for my tuition fees. This way i can pay my tuition fees and also have my bank statement available. Is the embassy going to call the bank to check if the 10,350Euros is in my bank account after i paid my school fees? Or they just want to check that my bank statement is valid and the 10,350Euros was there as at the date i claimed it was there on my bank statement.

I will appreciate a response from anyone that has done this before without any problems encountered or anyone that has gone past the maintenance visa requirements stage and gotten their Netherlands student visa.

Thank you.

Hello house, I've just been contacted by the IND that my Visa has been approved I was asked to pick up my MVV at the Lagos embassy cos I filled in Lagos as my pick-up venue. so on getting to the Embassy I was redirected to Accra or Cotonou please I need your honest advice on the following
1. if I need to legalize my birth certificate before going to
Accra or can it wait till I finally travel
2. if the Visa can be granted in Accra since I was originally directed to pick it at Lagos
3. if I can go to Accra without previous appointment cos the next appointment is in November 22 and I'm suppose to resume on Nov 1st.
Please I need an urgent answer from anybody in the house Thanks.

Hello Nairalanders,

This thread has been very educative. Well done to you all. I missed the December/January application period for Masters Degree. I can see that applications will open again by March 16 and close by April 6, 2016.

However, I have browsed the entire studyinfo.fi website and cannot get some information needed for onward actions on my Finnish application/admission.

To this end, I will need the following information:

(1) Are there any English taught Masters courses application open in the March 16 to April 6, 2016 period?

(2) Kindly inform me if there is a center for the entrance examination for the March 16 to April 6 Masters application in Nigeria or some other country in West Africa. Or do i have to travel to Finland just to write the entrance exam?

(3) Can you please inform me of any English taught Masters courses application open in the March 16, 2016 to April 6, 2016 period that do not require an entrance examination.

Thank you and best wishes to us all.

Note that i have emailed several Finnish schools on this and will bring any useful reply on here as it may be of help to a fellow Nairalander.
