jmoore: Tribal marriages face challenges too. The same principle can be applied in both.

We simply gave a brief answer to the question asked by the op.
Exactly my line of argument.

DailyNews: The way and manner u guys reason and respond to comments isn't nice. I didn't said everyone must marry from his tribe or race, never. I didn't impose anyone to do so. I only pointed out some challenges based on my own experience...and u don't expect everyone to agree that inter-tribal or inter-racial marriage is best or worst.

Everyone has their opinion...I only aired my and advised readers to tread cautiously before deciding to marry from a different tribe or race.

And if we face reality, there are so many challenges that face inter-tribal and inter-racial marriages, ranging from:

1. Language
2. Culture
3. Tradition
4. Belief
5. Family values and norms
6. That natural flow one feels when dealing with someone from his/her tribe/race isn't always there...even though we may not know or may claim to be in love...its always hard.

Finally, in the Bible, Abraham advised his servant never to get a wife for Isaac from the foreign land where they sojourned. He advised his servant to pls go back to his relatives to find a wife for Isaac. That relative is in-line with tribe.

God knew y he didn't just used sand to mold a wife for Adam but He used His rib...someone that will be close to Adam. He could have used sand as well and mold a woman for Adam...but He didn't...He used Adam's rib...so that they can have some things in common.

My brother, I may end up marrying from other tribe...but before I can, I must make enquiries, both from God and from man. I won't just jump in cos I saw a beautiful woman I feel I love...marriage goes beyond the love u feel for a lady or a man u met...at the long run...its not only love that sustains marriage...ask married people.
From your last paragraph it is safe to assert that, if you are gonna marry from your tribe you ain't gonna make enquiries from God and from man. Now I see...

jmoore: Before you condemn intertribal marriage you should prove that 100% of marriages of the same tribe are successful. Using 1 case study to generalize is very wrong.
I wonder ooooo. The thing is: what guarantee do we have in tribal marriage? Infact to be sincere, most Ibos I know married from their tribes, and frankly most have broken or badly-shaped homes... So what are we talking about? Abegi!

ogugua88: I'll never understand how you wake up first thing in the morning to type textbooks. Lol.

Anyway, osondi owendi. Inter-tribal/inter-racial dating may not work for everyone, but for me, it's not enough to condemn it as there are plenty people in those relationships who swear they are the happiest couple on earth. You love who you love. Tribe and/or race/ethnicity will never be a factor for me, and I don't think it should be for others.
God bless you jare... Leave people bringing up redundant posts as regards inter-tribal marriages. If you don't like it, good and fine. Everyone is entitled to do whatever he/she deems fit.

Does tribal marriage guarantee happiness all through the marital period? Nope! Infact, most igbos around me happens to be married to peeps from their tribe, and you wanna know how the marriages of most of em are going? I don't wanna say...

The thing is; marry someone you love and you will wanna spend the rest of your life with come what may. Sometimes I begin to ruminate if this is God's plan for us Nigerians. Do you actually think God would not want us to cross-breed? Why all the discrimination? And did I hear someone say that Nigeria can ever be united? That ain't gonna happen in the slightest margin. You know why? Everyone tends to think they are the best and wanna segregate themselves from the rest. And we say we want peace and unity in Nigeria. I am sorry that is just a mere phantasmagoria or rather just a castle some people are trying to build in the air because if we cannot start from the root then how do we think it can work up there?

Tell me; if you have your parents from different ethnicity and maybe trouble is looming between such ethnic groups(let's say your parents are from Igbo and yoruba lands) would you rather stand on the side of your mom or on the side of your dad (let's say you have to choose one) or would you rather not stand on both sides and face whatever that comes. As awkward as that illustration might seem, it tells you that inter-tribal marriage places us in good stead in making sure we are unified.

That is not to condemn tribal marriages in any way. But please, if you have a different view as regards inter - tribal marriage, it's okay but stop condemning it in any way. I was very surprised when a parishioner from my church was speaking my language whom I thought was from my place and I happened to know that he is Ibo but his wife is from my place. At that time I tripped cause he was speaking it with his wife and other times they code-switch to speaking igbo language. Just imagine what that means to the growth and the love within the family... Infact, is it just me or what, but most families that I know who share different tribes happens to live happily. I am not talking about outside happiness and sadness inside, I am talking about happiness in and out.

Well, I never expected to write something as long as this cause I am not even in the mood these days, but I hate it when someone tries to coin something from some baseless and redundant points. It's just...
Bros, Na wa for U o. So you think Apple will start advertising BBM to iOS users? U dey do big mistake. Blackberry talked about BBM for Android and iOS at first themselves so they will do the same this time. It has nothing to do with their phones, if they are to consider that, we wouldn't thought of going cross-platform in the first place.

They know their phones are already dead, people ain't buying them in the US and Uk again so going cross-platform will safe their brand. At least for as long as you use BBM on iPhone for instant, you will always remember it's from a company called Blackberry. They are giving BBM out to other platforms to stay relevant abi when last U hear Siemens? That's what they are trying to avoid and don't forget their company is already up for-sale.
Don't mind some peeps on here... They are just ignorant of what is going on. BB know they are losing it on the hardware division of the company, and since they can't seem to compete with the big boys (Apple & Android) not to mention the emerging Windows, they sought out to gain from their software division afterall. Yes, it will make more people to dump their platform, but to be sincere with ourselves, the platform is already dead (potentially though). So, if at the end of the day they will lose afterall, why not salvage the company's name from the best they have got to offer yet? Infact, it has been said that this should have been done two years ago and not now...

BB are just anxious to drive WhatsApp's traffic which is around 350million subscribers. Do people know how much whatsapp make? imagine that even Google wanted to buy the company (WhatsApp) for a billion dollars buh they refused. Now that is to tell that, if BB can be able to salvage part of WhatsApp's traffic to it's existing users, it would do the company a big favour in terms of gaining from the software aspect even if they lose out on the hardware (they are losing out already).

specialguest: Maybe you are referring to the ' Americanised' Nigerian ladies i mean The ones busy keeping up with the kardashians. Lolz

On a brighter note it depends on the type of relationship you guys have. But there's definately a stage in every serious relationship where the welfare of the man becomes the woman's business. Remember i said 'serious relationship' not the type you meet Ekaette today and expect she has to cook and clean after you next week.
Unfortunately, many of em are Americanised (as used by you). I think many of the modern girls are losing their moral values which are peculiar to Africans. Besides, the so-called westerners they look up to do cook in their homes. I guess you are right since they are always trying to keep up with the Kardashians.

As regards your second paragraph, I was not even referring to relationships buh marriage. Alot of girls are going with the idea that it is not their duty to prepare the food at home. Thy argue that it should be a shared responsibility between them and their husbands. Now, not that hubbies shouldn't assist or help out whenever they are chanced to do that, but to say it should be a shared duty between yourself and your hubby is unheard of...

God help the rest of us that are yet to be married.

kreami diva: Lol. Sisters all taken! I'm not being boastful or anything, when i had my baby through c.s,i always felt miserable watching my mum and MIL serve my husband.one day,i when he got back, before any of the women could say anything,i was already in the kitchen preparing his food.it was painful, considering the kind of pain i was in at the moment but i felt relieved that day. Seriously,it's not a big deal.my mum still makes my dad's food so why wouldn't i huh
God will bless you jare... I am really glad whenever I see or hear of anyone whom such values are yet held in high regards. It's crest-fallen that Nigerian girls of these days (some) are having a wrong notion about their roles in the home. My mom still cook till date, infact she doesn't feel alright not cooking the food in the house. Mist girls will tell you if you can't get a maid then you should be able to cook yourself and not expect them to cook. I really weep for many of em. Small time them go say husband no gree come.

Nigerian women of these days? I doubt that. Maybe you should ask some of your fellow female Nairalanders who have decided within themselves that if a man can't cook for himself, then he is on a long thing...

I guess they have been tryna imitating the likes of lady A and lady B. It's just sad...

philfearon: This is the reason why i hate that Guardiola left us...
Pique,Busquets,Pedro,Jeffren,Thiago,Cuenca,Tello,Deulofeu,Muniesa et all....He gave them all their proper chances and the best possible game time they needed, and this guys wia all happy!
I remember a particular Championsleague Match where he fielded no First team starter, yet he Won 4-0....Guardiola had the Guts....Tito and Martino seem to be having many similarities==>They are both afraid...Thats why they stick with the already Proven ones...
Tito Lost us Thiago, its a fact! Martino also wants to Lost us Bartra too....
Thiago and Fabregas were blending very well last season, and all Tito needed do was play him in the Last 3matches! We had won the League already, but rather,Tito was Obsessed with 100points...What Guardiola usually do when we win the league with Games left,is to give the La Masia guys playing time...BUT TITO DIDNT! He Lost Us Thiago Alcantara! And Martino is following the same shoes! I wish Tello and Jonathan Dos Santos will not regret why they didnt leave Barca this season....Seriously,it pains me! Three games, still yet Sergi Roberto is yet to play! Hmmmmm...Make Barca no break my heart this season again!
WITH ALL MY HEART,I HATE ROSELL AND HIS COHORTS!
Well... I believe Martino will give them the chance they deserve. I can't and won't blame him much at this juncture since the season is very young and we started it with playing difficult teams. I believe as time goes on we will see them play. Especially from our next league match which should be against Rayo.

philfearon: And Why is Bartra still yet to be given chance for crying out Loud?
Pique Killed us Last season with his silly Lacklustre Performances 2ru out...He has started again this season! Why wont they just bench that Shakira sucked Out ish of a defender?
With the few games he played last season,Bartra was far more better than Pique...Why wont they just giv that Lad chance? Ain't he a La Masia graduate? Or do they want to put him in Thiago's shoe and then blame him for disloyalty later?
Gbam!

If I get to complain about Piqué's performances, someone thinks I am hating or just being biased or sentimental cause I don't like him. Yet, the reverse happens to be the case here. Piqué was onced liked and revered by my very self when he was doing good. But, his performances nowadays are becoming alarming and I think he is arguably the slowest or the most sluggish of defenders currently. Now tell me, if Piqué were not to be Spanish or a La Masia graduate, wouldn't he have been benched?

The defensive demi-god we have now (Mascherano) was highly criticised by me when he was still into too much reckless tackles plus his low technicality. Yet, he is the one man in Barca's defence of late that is nearly omni-present in clearing most danger balls. Today, I like him more than any of our defenders cause he plays with passion and love for the club. Why is it that Pique never gets injured? Don't you think it's because he doesn't risk anything in the field of play?

I just hope the likes of Bartra and Montoya will have playing times this coming days. Adriano is injury-prone and is not a sure-bet to last before the arrival of Alba.

Xavi's game is dropping by the game. The earlier the coach starts using Sergi Roberto and JDS the better for the club to enable then gain more experience and continue to improve.

I think Iniest &fab, creates more chance dan Xavi iniesta, but Xavi iniesta holds d ball more
I just love the combo of Iniesta-Fab... They give us enough attacking opportunities. Xavi is just about possession which is sometimes worthless.

ddippset: common man, let's be pragmatic. That effort to get the ball across was worth more than a million direct assists. Btw pls don't get me wrong, neymar was awesome in that game.
Neymar's best game so far... Buh he messed that counter attack up by trying to pass back to Messi after receiving the ball from the dare-devil. Lol

ddippset: a full game of football does not last for 85 minutes. It doesn't even last for 90 mins. It lasts for 90 mins plus injury time. Messi's extra extra extrA ordinary effort gave us 3 instead of 1 point. Any of the remaining 9 barcA players would have given up on that ball he crossed for the assist. MOM- messi.
It wasn't an assist anywayz.... Sanchez scored from a rebound

ddippset: messi won us all 3 points. That assist for the 3rd goal was better than what anybody did the whole night.
It seems you didn't comprehend what I wrote... I said Messi was not in the game all through before his goal. And after his goal his game came to life a bit coupled with that last minute run... The reason I wrote that was because I was tryna prove my point that I am sincere with whomever does well on the field of play and not being sentimental. Which was in reaction to what @ Johnpaul88 wrote as against me being after Piqué's bad game...

Johnpaul88: ^^^Pique did badly in the match? You just hate him that's all.
Except the last ten mins when the whole team collapsed and lost control of the match,
Pique was playing well and putting some timely tackles.

Your obvious hatred for him is getting ridiculous! It's clear ur mind is made up on him.
I guess you didn't watch the match... Of all the people giving their views as regards Piqué's performance, you are the only one who is saying something different. That guy is the easiest defender to beat. Jeez! And could you please enlighten me why he fell before the second goal? Dang! My grand mother could defend more than Piqué.

What do you say of a player who doesn't have the necessary speed to keep up with opponents? Will not be to always stay around and not overlap? Yet, your Piqué will never do such but will always overlap even though he is as slow as a snail. Gosh! I can never allow myself to be beclouded by sentiments as a result of the love I have for a player. So, learn from that

FYI I don't hate Piqué or whatever... I am the least biased of Culés. I say things the way they are... If not for the goal and the last minute run Messi had, he wasn't in that game at all... Neymar was the beast of the night making the deadliest of moves.
