One may not say for sure because there are other traits that goes along with being an introvert. But then, you can be an introvert and yet have a good sense of humour (I am one), but the level of your sociality more often than not flocks around just very few people around you...

You are right. The thing about me for instance is that, if you consider the way I appear, you would consider me as a pure extrovert, a choleric to be precise. Because I appear very bold and confident at all times. If you hear me speak, you will know that I command respect and oozing too much confidence. Yet, it only takes those who have known me well to know that deep inside of me, I am very shy but it doesn't turn out to be timidity.

If you wanna really know me as shy, it's when I blush. I blush a lot. Sometimes guys complain why I blush when having a convo with em... You know, they will like "guy na me you dey blush for?" that's where my shyness really brings out it's ugly head.

Like I stated earlier on, if you are a redeemed melancholy then some of your aforementioned will not really be a problem. Like myself I crack jokes and all, yet I still try to fight a lot about me though.

You can't change your temperament, but can only be redeemed. Once a choleric is always a choleric, the thing there is that, if he becomes spiritual, it takes advantage of his shortcomings, yet it doesn't change the fact that he is a choleric. It might be hidden at times, but other times it can be as visible as day light.

Don't fight to change you, only work to make you better. In other words, if you become a redeemed melancholy, you will be able to take advantage of your vices as a melancholy but then it won't take away your melancholic nature.

The good thing about knowing your temperament is that, it enables you to be able to figure out people's own. And thereby gives you a better way of relating with people. If you know yours and are able to know people's own when you come across them, it enables you to not tread on their bad sides so as not to have problems with them... For over a decade that I got to know my temperament and my personality type, I have never had any issue whatsoever with anyone. You know why? Because I know my limit and I know people's limits too and try not to over step my bounds. Even when someone offends me, I try to consider the person' s temperament and personality in responding cause I understand their strengths and weaknesses.

Like I stated, just get yourself redeemed and don't bother about changing because it won't work.

It's not living in chains man... You will notice introverts are far more organised than most other traits like the extroverts and the super-extroverts. So, you still think it's living in bondage? Think again...

And I hope you are also aware of the fact that in most cases, every human has a combination of at least 2 temperaments, albeit one supercedes the other. One act as the base, while the other might just be at the peripheral.

I am a melancholy to the core, but since I am working to redeeem myself off the negative traits of a melancholic being, I seem to turn the tables in certain traits. For instance, a pure melancholy is a silent killer. By default they bear grudges and all that. You offend them and they won't say anything not knowing deep down inside them, they have some dangerous things to do to you as payback. But that aspect of me has been worked on, even though there could still be little traces of it inside of me.

Do you know about eneagram? If you don't, I would want you to get to know as it would help to broaden your horizon. Infact, temperament is like a microcosm, while eneagram is a macrocosm...
