But the actual amount of the worth of the three-year deal is yet unknown.

Everton FC have sacked manager Ronald Koeman after Sunday’s 5-2 home defeat by Arsenal left them in the Premier League relegation zone.
A statement said the club “would like to express their gratitude to Ronald for the service he has given to the club over the past 16 months”.
The Toffees are 18th in the Premier League and have won just two of their nine league games this season.

Saidi Balogun and Fathia Balogun are popular figures in the Nollywood industry. They have featured in thousands of movies especially in the Yoruba movie world.

The love triangle or saga between Nollywood actor, Adeniyi Johnson and his estranged wife Toyin Abraham is never ending.
Recalled that last week, news making round the media disclosed that Toyin made claims about Adeniyi refusing to sign their divorce papers. An attempt she had made on several occasions to settle the feud in peace or sign the divorce papers which he refused. However, his refusal to sign the papers automatically meant they were still legally married, she claimed.
Following this information that went viral, Adeniyi responded to the allegations made by Toyin, denying ever putting his divorce with her on hold. He shared the information about the divorce and proceeds through his publicist to the media, claiming that, the only meeting that ever happened between them was a failed attempt to settle their marital differences which was held at Ikeja City Mall.
“It is quite appalling to read some unfounded reports online about me in respect of my marital issues with Toyin Abraham.
It is needless to re-emphasize that being together in the institution of marriage is a matter of choice and interest. In a situation where things do not work out anymore and the relationship has broken-down irretrievably, truth is the best virtue. Out of honour, i choose to put up this reaction/ disclaimer for the benefit of the interested public and the future that is unknown.
In relation to the execution of a divorce paper and all other processes connected thereto, I find it funny as to how low the concerned party would lay cheap claims to score points that I refused to sign papers. At no point in time did I ever refuse the execution of divorce papers. All that only occurred was an abortive mediation meeting held at Ikeja City Mall. Her former counsel and I agreed to meet for talks, as he wanted to facilitate reconciliation between I and Toyin at Ikeja City Mall; he never mentioned anything like divorce papers.
It was after the meeting that I called him several times to make proper arrangement for the divorce process, only for me to be told that toyin herself asked him (the lawyer) to still hold on. It is imperative to note that, for several months and till date, it is my counsel who has been chasing the other party. Her decision to create drama on the media is nothing but an “appeal to public sympathy”.

Deaconess Janet Olufunmilola Abike Jegede was born to pa Daniel Fakoya (from isona) and Madam Ogunhunmi Fakoya of Orogba, both in ilesha.
She was born on 31st of August, 1931. Mama had a single sister three years after. Both lost their mother when mama was five.
Mama struggled her way through life as a motherless little child in a very big family, but with lots of fatherly love. She learnt responsibility very early in life as she had to not only figure out how to grow up on her own but also had to play the role of mother to her little sister. She engaged and succeded in so many trades as she prepared herself towards a self reliant life. Trading would later become her own calling and even with the little support she got in life, God saw her through a very successful career as building contractor, distributor, and trader in cloths, gold, building materials etc.
Mama got married to chief Jegede and is blessed with children, grandchildren and great grand children. She remains today a very strong force in the lives of all her younger generations most of who will describe her as their role model and pillar of faith. While Mama gave a lot of her younger days to working very hard to support the family, she however created a lot more time to train her children in the way of the Lord. She is an example of faith in her dedication to the things of God, fear of God and simple faith in God.

To the “uninitiated,” the recent upgrade of some chiefs to the status of monarchs in Ibadan was only an outcome of a review of the 1959 Chieftaincy Declaration of the capital of Oyo State. But analysts, who saw beyond the glamour of crowning, said the whole issue is about the political rivalry between incumbent governor Abiola Ajimobi and former governor Rashidi Ladoja and preparations for 2019 elections.
The battle of who controls Oyo State politics, between Governor Abiola Ajimobi and former Governor Rashidi Ladoja was confined to the political turf with the expectation that the voting population would decide the fate of the two gladiators in the next round of elections without dragging the highly-revered traditional institution into the fray.
The calculations however changed on August 27 with the review of the 1959 Olubadan declaration that allows the government to elevate all the eleven High Chiefs that constitute the Olubadan-in-council and ten locality chiefs or Baales, to be crowned as monarchs.
Many watchers of events have seen the move as a ploy by government to retire Ladoja who is one of the High Chiefs and Osi Olubadan, the fourth in succession line to the throne, from active politics to clear the coast for the incumbent governor and his political party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the political battle ahead.

Of course, the former governor kicked against the elevation which he described as a “Greek gift” and deliberate plan to chase him from politics as accepting to be crowned as an Oba will automatically deprive him the benefit of the ongoing merging of Accord Party structure in Oyo State to that of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that he said will produce a formidable opposition to the APC in the 2019 elections. The Social Democratic Party (SDP) and its governorship candidate in the last election, Engineer Seyi Makinde are said to be part of the alliance.
Ladoja has not hidden his ambition to re-contest for the governorship office in 2019 and he is seen as a rallying point of the opposition in the state. Apart from working towards achieving his governorship ambition, Ladoja has vowed to put a stop to Ajimobi’s political leadership in the state by ensuring that he did not anoint a successor, the threat, which the governor has dismissed as “empty.”
Ajimobi and Ladoja had almost the same political history. Both had represented Oyo South Senatorial District at the Upper Chamber at one point or the other and while Ladoja served a term as governor under the PDP, Ajimobi recorded an unprecedented history of becoming the first politician to win governorship election twice in the state.
Analysts are of the opinion that Ladoja’s ambition of squaring up with Ajimobi has been the major cause of the fierce political battle between the two “sons of the soil.” But while Ladoja is superior to Ajimobi in palace politics, the governor who hails from Oja’ba quarters in the ancient town of Ibadan, holds many honorary Chieftaincy titles that cannot lead him to becoming Olubadan.
Besides, both of them are vast in the traditional and party politics of Ibadan and that of Oyo State which makes the intrigues and scheming deeper than what the uninitiated could understand.
Seen by many as a master stroke and a last joker by Ajimobi to checkmate Ladoja and end the rivalry between the duo, the elevation of the traditional tittle of Osi Olubadan amongst others to a crown-wearing monarch, would effectively restrict the former governor to the palace and subservient to the governor of the day.
Though Ladoja has the backing of the Olubadan, Oba Saliu Adetunji and some Mogajis (family heads) that rejected the new order, Ajimobi is a step ahead with massive supports from the ten out eleven members of Olubadan-in-council, Ibadan elders, members of Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII) and a cross section of elites in the state who believe that the traditional institution is due for a review.
But if Ajimobi and his strategists thought they had pushed Ladoja out of the contest, they should not go too far from their drawing board as Ladoja has not only refused to be crowned but promised them a legal tussle and public enlightenment which will declare the mass coronation of Sunday August 27, 2017 a “theatrical display.”
As soon as Ajimobi inaugurated the Justice Akintunde Boade panel that reviewed the Olubadan declaration, Ladoja cried out that he was the target of the governor and went to an Ibadan High Court to stop the panel from sitting.
The former governor had argued that the state government had no power to review 1959 Ibadan Chieftaincy declaration, which he noted was different from that of the 1957 Chieftaincy laws that regulate the relationship between and among Obas in the state.
The 1957 Chieftaincy laws, he noted, allow the state governor to dabble into who becomes the chairman of council of Obas in the state and other matters but that of the 1959 Olubadan declaration, which he accused the government of tinkering with, is purely an Ibadan local affair domiciled with the Olubadan and Olubadan-in-council.
He said he was ready to pursue the matter and ensure that the 21 monarchs that received their crowns from the governor ceased to wear them and revert to their old status, which many of them have rejected.
According to him, “It is not the responsibility of government but that of Ibadan people to tamper with the 1959 declaration. They tried to mislead the people that it was 1957 declaration but they have now realized that it was in 1959. It is only Ibadan people who can change their laws when they think it is necessary. We don’t have Olubadan of Oyo State but we have Olubadan of Ibadanland. Why should you bring somebody from Ibarapa, Oyo, Ogbomoso and Oke Ogun to come and review the declaration? We told them. Everything that is being done pertains to the declaration that concerns Ibadan people.
“People continue to ask the question why the mockery of obaship in Ibadanland, is it the most important thing to Ajimobi of all the challenges facing his government. It is now clear that Ajimobi has found in this futile exercise, a distraction from his six years of misgovernment in the state.
“Ajimobi is using temporary executive power for ego trip and feels that he is humiliating perceived enemies and also playing God. Why should the governor turn himself into a kingmaker, ignoring the long-established peaceful, self-reforming chieftaincy system of Ibadanland that has become the envy of many cities because it is rancour-free?
“Ajimobi’s tenure will expire in the next 21 months. The state will surely be freed from the stranglehold of the emperor and the office will outlive the officer. Very soon, Ajimobi’s portrait will join those of ex-governors hung on the wall of the Executive Council Chambers. Whatever has a beginning must surely have an end.”
The Osi Olubadan however, appealed to the people of to remain calm and peaceful, even in the face of provocation, saying peaceful and legal means will be used to reclaim the glory of the traditional institution of the ancient town.
Ladoja also expressed surprise at the hasty nature that the coronation and presentation of letters and staffs of office were done.
“Why did they start it after work on Friday and ended it on Sunday? They distributed letters under flood light on Friday. What they have done to me is just a theatrical display and I don’t attach any importance to it,” he said.
He said he sees no reason why High Chiefs in Ibadan who are also kingmakers will become obas and members of the Oyomesi, the traditional council in Oyo town, will not become Obas. He said it is not only Ibadan or Oyo only he’s tampering with, he is going throughout the state.
The former governor who denied setting up any commission to review Olubadan declaration said, “It is not true. I said it many times that I did not set up any Adio commission. I did not see it as a priority at that time. What I saw then was the improvement of education. I think the institution of obaship is so complex and it is better to leave it and face other things. In the case of Ibadan, there was no rancour. I still emphasise it that I did not set up any commission. I don’t know any Adio. It is either the governor is being misled or the governor decided to be a liar himself. Is Adio alive, if he’s alive, they should go and ask him. He should tell me the date where and when they were sworn in.
“I’m not quarreling with the governor; I am fighting with the government. If you go to the Governor’s Office, you will find the photographs of previous governors including me. By 2019, he too will join us. Has anybody seen the White Paper? Nobody has seen it. In the so called recommendations there are so many lacunas. So many sections were removed. There is recommendation 4,5 then 8. Where is recommendation 9? A section that says government should not add title like ‘oba, there is 10, no recommendation 11. After 12 there is no recommendation 13 to 99 where are the others? You see that the government is not consistent and fraudulent. The government is too much busy at times to look into some things.”
But Ajimobi has denied the allegation that the declaration was reviewed to prevent Ladoja from becoming Olubadan. The governor said he has no power to prevent Ladoja from becoming Olubadan if God has destined it.
According to him, “I am sure people will still thank me in the future because I am doing good for Ibadan and the state. I am not interested in becoming the Olubadan and I will not be; it is only the person destined by God that would become Olubadan. It is God who ordains an Olubadan.
“Tell my elder brother, Senator Rashidi Ladoja, who is saying it is because of him that we reviewed the Olubadan chieftaincy laws so that he would not become the Olubadan. God will let him be an Olubadan, if he is destined to be.
“Anybody hindering the progress of his fellow human being will also not make headway. We are not hindering him but he must not politicise the matter of Ibadan. I want to plead with him not to use his inability to secure victory in elections to influence the issue of Olubadan Chieftaincy laws.”
Ajimobi also debunked the insinuations that the review has distorted the kingship system in Ibadan. Quoting a famous author, Henry James, who once said, “A tradition is kept alive only by something being added to it,” the governor said, “I wish to state categorically that we are not changing history; we are not changing tradition; we are not changing the culture of Ibadan.
“Rather, we are elevating and consolidating our traditional institution and the exalted position of the Olubadan as the imperial majesty in Ibadan. We are also elevating the Olubadan-in-Council and the chieftaincy institution without altering or tinkering with the traditional succession and ascendancy system of the Olubadan Chieftaincy structure.”
The governor explained that the review of the 1959 declaration was not a novel idea, having been carried out by successive administrations in the state in 1974, 1981, 1993 and 2000.

Nollywood grand play boy Ramsey Noah says the movie industry Is growing and has moved from the era of good stories and gifted actors without good technical impute to the point where we now have great technology but the acting standard is fast reducing.
“Emm… for Nollywood, there have been phases of growth for us. It seemed like we started off on a very good note but everyone is thinking… No, no, no, it’s not as if it’s not a good note, it is, but there was a good start, there was an influx of stories. It became saturated. People got tired and everybody just felt like the industry has reached its peak and there’s nowhere else to go.
Hence, that point in time was when everybody began to say ‘are we growing or falling?’ But this is what it is. We had good performances acting, in the beginning. The performance acting became saturated because there were too many movies outside. Technicals didn’t grow from where we began , it was going to get better but mid-way but things got worse. Now, technical is growing.
What’s giving birth to good technicals are the cinemas. For you to shoot a movie for cinemas there has to be capital, of course big screen and you have to get everything and every detail right. But there’s a nosedive with the performances now. Where we have gotten to now with good technical, acting is getting better. There’s need for that bridge for technical and acting to synegise for us to have a smooth and perfect production.

“Yeah. In 2006, a couple of us were blacklisted by the (film) marketers for no good reason. Of course, at that moment there was a turnaround in my faith in the industry.
I was like ‘what the hell, why should we have this?’ Hence, when the cinema thing came in I was very happy because it helped curb our industry. Because we lack structure, we lack regulation and regulatory bodies to actually checkmate certain things; a whole lot of things went haywire. That was one of my low points in the industry.”

Samson Siasia doesn’t thrill people only on football matters. As a player he displayed tremendous skills with striking abilities, going on record as one of the best forwards to have emerged from Nigeria. And now as a coach, he has always shown the good stuff he is made of.
However, Siasia does not pack only football skills on the legs. He showed this last weekend in Atlanta where his daughter, Sanita was given out in marriage. It was an emotional moment for the ebony skinned Nigerian whose soccer team won Nigeria’s only medal in the Rio Olympic Games. That was after the silver medal he also won in Beijing Olympics.
The excitement on the day his daughter married was tremendous and Siasia demonstrated another skill that day. His dance steps amazed and thrilled all. Sanita got married to her heart throb Jamell Barret from the State of Georgia, USA. As soon as it was time for the traditional father/daughter dance, Siasia stormed the dance floor, sliding in rhythmic moves to the admiration of the audience.
The young beautiful Sanita danced and giggled to encourage her father to different dance styles. It was entertaining. The event took place in Atlanta, Georgia on Saturday, September 2, 2017, after the exchange of vows between Sanita and her husband at the prestigious Johnson Ferry Baptist Church in Atlanta.

The wedding reception which took place at the Marriot Hotel in Atlanta attracted a large crowd including Siasia’s former team mates like Paul Okoku, Alphonsus Akhahon and Aniete Effiong. Other former soccer players in attendance included Ikem Udeh, former Falcons goalkeeper Judith Chime and Bob Ubanwa. Daniel Abumere who was personal assistant to coach Siasia came from Nigeria for the event.

Nollywood actress, Lola Magaret has reportedly deactivated her social media account following her alleged theft scandal.
Recall that some months back, the actress was arrested in the US for fraud, however, weeks later, she claimed that all charges against her have been laid off and she wasn’t guilty of such allegations.
Although, Lola has not been active on social media since the incident to give a proper account of her own story to fans, she recently took fans by surprise by deleting her Instagram account without bothering about the 278.4k followers she had, while following 1045 people and has made a total of 1414 posts before she deactivated her account.
Reasons for her action is uncertain, but this could be relating to the enormous bugs she gets from fans since her scandal.

Olanike Disu, popular known as Madam tax died on Monday, 24 hours after her birthday celebration.
Before her death, she was a director at the Lagos Inland Revenue Service, LIRS, the chairman of the 2018 Annual Tax Committee (ATC) she was also an Assistant Director with the Federal Inland Revenue (FIRS).
Report says Disu was rushed to a private clinic in Lagos after complaining she was not feeling too well just after her birthday party.
She, however, died in the clinic on Monday.
Members of Council, the Management and Secretariat of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria sent their words to her family, confirming her death.
They said, “[The] unfortunate demise of a member of the Executive Committee of Council, Mrs Olanike Disu, FCTI which occurred today, September 4, 2017. She was the Current Chairman of the 2018 Annual Tax Committee (ATC). She was also an Assistant Director with the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) until her death. We pray that God will comfort her family and the CITN family, and grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

Absurd new entrant into Nigerian music industry Vic O seem to have gotten his wish as Don Jazzy, who heads the all-star Mavin record company has finally acknowledged him on social media.
A while ago Vic O went on social media to give an ultimatum to the super producer, Don Jazzy to feature in his song or he will release a diss track targeted towards Jazzy.
The Mevin boss paid him no attention and the wired singer dropped what he called Don Jazzy diss track to the surprise of many of his followers and music watchers Don Jazzy replied Vic O after a few weeks of releasing his song.
