Though I stand to be corrected, I think an individual cannot make certain claims especially relating to financial fraud to these organization. Only the country's law enforcement or financial body can escalate such claims. It works that way to avoid malicious people, who may contact these international bodies with bogus claims, aimed at tarnishing the image of residents... The foreign bodies would take up the case if it's from the Nigerian Police because they would assume all due diligence has been done and the case is legit.

Unfortunately op, you'll have to go through the Nigerian Police or EFCC. However, I suggest that you call them out on twitter for requesting for bribe. Attach proof if possible.

I have actually contacted IRCC Canada and Nova Scotia several times and they repeatedly said they can't do anything unless contacted by Nigerian law enforcement and Nigerian law enforcement agencies won't work unless bribe is paid.

I have advised the police on how to go about it, I told them to investigate the account into which the money was paid, they can get a court order from high court compelling Wema Bank to give police access to the Bank statement showing how the money moved but police was reluctant and started asking me to pay 100k for the court order.

I went as far as reporting to Nova Scotia police and they said they would only commence investigation if contacted by the Nigerian police but Nigeria police are reluctant, I contacted interpol and tge response was the same.
I have contacted the company whose name was used in the fraudulent misrepresentation and they said they would investigate, it's been 2 months now and I haven't heard from them.
I have followed all due process and now I have no other choice than to get down and take laws into my hands.

I am an Igbo man but I have never spent more than 48hrs in Igbo land, I was born and raised in the North so my mindset is entirely different, infact my fellow igbo brothers throw insult at me regularly and sometimes they want to physical assault me. The truth is there is no olodo uprising in buying dangote shares. Its a secure and profitable share. The Olodo uprising will be in how u utilise the shares long or short term..

I never claimed refining other derivates from crude oil to be Dangote's Comparative Advantage. If you could read between the line, you will understand that I'm trying to speak about the diversed revenue streams available to the refinery beyond petrol just like any other refineries in the world.

Secondly, Your point does not in anyway hold water because you're speaking as if Dangote refinery sells to only Nigerians. It's an international firm for crying out loud which means it can source for crude oil beyond Nigeria and sell it outside the shores of Nigeria while still making profit.

Moreover, the company is a major asset to Nigeria because it's a source of FOREX earning. It currently source 60% of its crude from Nigeria, refines it, then sell to the local market and overseas thereby attracting dollars into the economy which will also keep the exchange rate stabilized and strengthen the naira. So it is a blessing to Nigerians not a curse.

NNPC currently sells to Dangote in Naira under the naira-for-crude agreement so it shows you're divorced from reality. Every businesses is established to make a profit so why should Dangote become Santa Claus aka Nigerian Messiah?

If not for the refinery, do you know the kind of trouble Nigeria will have been considering the crises in the Middle East if we were still importing finished products?

The blame should be on your government to stop favouring the refinery "if such exists" and also incentivize other players to establish their own refineries so as to foster competition which will create a market where prices are driven by market forces.

On a final note because I won't keep engaging you anymore, if your concern is that many Nigerians investing did not do diligence research before investing, does not understand what they are investing in and they just jump on the wagon for fear of missing out, your concerns will be valid.

Every refinery is an integrated petrochemical complex meaning that as it refines for petro, there are other byproduct comes out before petrol which are useful in making other products like clothes, fertilizer, etc does dangote have the comparative advantage to delve into clothes or fertilizer production?

For Dangote refinery to make money, putting into consideration foreign exchange rates, the refinery makes more profit when the cost of fuel at the pumps go up. Let's assume the price of CRUDE OIL goes from $100 to $120 the refinery will buy crude oil from the FG/NNPC at $120, refine it and sell it at a more expensive price.

And there IS NO DOUBT THAT DANGOTE REFINERY IS USELESS AS FUEL IS BEING PHASED OUT GLOBALLY, many countries in the middle east are losing their refineries to war, same applies to RUSSIA/Ukraine, China has completed phased it out, UK & Europe and US are phasing it out gradually. The refinery will eventually become useless.

But my concern with your post is the seeming inconsistency in the story. Or maybe I didn’t understand you well. I mean, being rich at 21, asking your parents for money at 300 level.
