LIFE GOES ON
No doubt, it is and was very painful!
You couldn’t consider how dutiful, I were
Oh! At first it looks playful!!
But it’s real, sure! I must be manful.
Though it hurts that you were not grateful,
I must move on and prove that I’m powerful.

No reason on earth or air to justify this action,
Not to even talk of me being satisfy.
I thought your action was to verify,
Not knowing you intended to terrify me.
If only you can modify and rectify your decision
You will be gratify and surely testify

Now that you said you are done!
What now happens to all the fun?
Our love like a grain of corn,
Now replaced with bags of thorns
Run, you’ve chosen, but life turn by turn,
The time to mourn has gone and
So far the sun is up, life must go on.

Life is nothing without some help,
But not all help are helpful.
A ‘help’ can make or mar,
Fiend and bad friends do the same.

Some fiends always halt and hurt,
Some like hawk, causing havoc,
Some are smart, gunning only for gains,
Some gentle outside but lethal like wolves inside.
But a true friend, like a home and haven.

A true friend gives wise counsel not otherwise,
A true friend is supportive, helpful and good.
When a cropper, he never bend like hooks,
When crumbling comes, he acts no crook,
In terms of hunger, he turns a cook,
In times of failure, he turns a book,
In times of sickness, he turns a Doc.

He is manful, helpful in sorrowful scenes,
Does not act unseemly, never a betrayal.
In need he is near, cause indeed he is a friend,
Never far-off, his closeness affirmed.

The truth he tells, all and at all times,
Not minding momentary feelings.
He’s neither a mocker nor a drinker.
Openness, trust, sagacity all infused.
He is all round, and all there.

A sharp iron sharpens the other,
A true friend sharpens alike.
A bird sacrifices food for its chicks,
A true friend sacrifices alike.
Self-centeredness is a mere friend, but
Selflessness is a true friend.

I am looking for a true friend,
Not to search for it outwards,
But to look deeply inwards
Am I a true friend?
If I am not, it’s high time I should be!

Like always beget like, and,
True friends always attract a true friend.
If you want a true friend,
Be a true friend to your friends.
Remember true friends are rare,
But mere friends are many.
Be one of them today,
You will be happy you did.
