I have lived in Canada for last 11years, mostly in the GTA and i was here first as a international student, then a PR and now a Citizen. If your reason for wanting to migrate is for better further for your child and coming children and the resources are available, i will say make the move first as a student ( look for a cheap college that allows part payment/credit programs especially in places like Winnipeg, Nova Scotia and likes. It might be expensive to adapt and weather might seat at its extreme but it is worth it on the long run.

If you have family and good friends here who can offer soft landing that will go a long way but dont be deterred if you dont as things will work out if you have God but know it is not as easy as it is shown in the movies.
