More revelations from various quarters are currently being made about the health status of President Muhammadu Buhari after the leadership of the National Assembly visited him in London, United Kingdom yesterday.

 

House of Representatives Speaker, Hon. Yakubu Dogara has corroborated the insinuation of Senate President Bukola Saraki that the reportedly ailing President Buhari is now ‘fitter’ than a well-tailored cloth.
It would be recalled that the leadership of the National Assembly from the All Progressives Congress including the new Senate Leader, Ahmed Lawan visited
President Buhari at the Abuja House in London yesterday after which pictures were shared on social media in the evening to affirm claims that the president is ‘hale and hearty’.
Dogara today, 16th of January, 2017 at around 1;13pm took to his Twitter page to re-assure Nigerians that the recuperation of the president is on course despite malicious reports of his demise.

Bayern Munich captain, Philipp Lahm, has confirmed tha he will retire at the end of this season.
SportBild had broken the news before their DFB Pokal game on Tuesday and Lahm said it was true after their 1-0 win over Wolfsburg.
“I’ve told the Bayern officials that I’m retiring from playing at the end of the season,” he told reporters.
“I see my style of leadership in the way that I give my best every day, in training and in every game. I think I’m capable of doing that until the end of the season but no longer than that.

For the past three months, there has been a new lease in Edo State as Governor Godwin Obaseki has adopted a new style of governance.
One of those is revamping facilities in the Government House such as the mechanic workshop, which had been abandoned and parts of the space converted to a car park.
Obaseki also chose to engage female technicians to fix government vehicles in their various states of disrepair.
“I want to throw an offer to you today. In Government House, we have a workshop. We would like you to come and take a look at it and also see if you can take over maintenance of the vehicles in Government House,” Obaseki said at the graduation ceremony of 25 female mechanics in Benin late last year, which many persons thought was just another political statement made to attract applause.
The governor, who said his government would partner with the Lady Mechanic Initiative, a non-governmental organisation, to promote youth employment in line with his electioneering campaign promises, offered to engage them for the maintenance of government vehicles.
Today, the workshop is a beehive of activities, as lady mechanics, under the leadership of Ms. Sandra Aguebor, are working on scores of abandoned, but serviceable vehicles, ranging from Sport Utility Vehicles, Hilux vans, saloon cars and other brands.
“These are government vehicles. Of course, they are not that old as they appear to be. Many of them are about four years old. They have one issue or the other, they needed to be repaired. That’s what we are doing.
“Right now, we have about 30 vehicles in the workshop that we are working on and we need to deliver them to the state government in the next one month.

A photo depicting a clergyman dressed in a purple-and-white cassock with a rifle cradled in his arms has gone viral.

The photo was apparently taken in a church.

He appeared to have posed for the camera, maintaining a sombre mien, close to an altar bedecked in white and purple clothes and a pair of glasses sitting on it.

The picture was posted online by a Facebook user, Achike Onwuazo.

In the post, Onwuazo alluded to the priest’s readiness against any Boko Haram or herdsmen attack.
