PoliticsRe: Creation Of 31 New States: Afenifere, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Arewa Speak by Dokitto001: 3:16pm On Feb 07, 2025
I agree with Creation of more states.
I'll give you an instance

Imagine that your state gets divided into two.
That will bring the government closer to the people, hence more accountability and development.

I think Nigeria should create additional 50 creates atleast.

This will weaken the government and make them less powerful and more accountable to the people. The people will be able to demand more from them.

I lived in a country where you could just walk into the governors office and have meaningful conversation. The little they had was utilised efficiently.

Government is too powerful in Nigeria and it's dangerous.

Nigerians are deceiving themselves.

Plus all other factors.

If Nigerian politicians earn as little as what they pay us, themselves for japa.

Fix the problem and quit whining!

And this is not about patriotism. The first people you have responsibility for are your family.
PoliticsRe: Mixed Reactions Trail Proposed $500 Tourism Tax For Nigerians In Diaspora by Dokitto001: 2:04pm On Jan 26, 2025
Silly idea.
This will discourage people from returning home except they really have something they must come home for.

Secondly: The tourism of returning is already bringing in money jnto the country. Don't let your greed ruin this "detty December" and shift these guys to Ghana.

If people come in and spend money on hotels and food and fashion and whatnot. Those industries pay back in tax to the government. That's why government benefit from the homecoming

TravelRe: Why You Should Not Japa – Cardoso To Nigerians by Dokitto001: 9:13am On Nov 30, 2024
Nigeria has the highest number of unemployed and uneducated people.

Train those uneducated Nigerians and equip them with marketable skills. Encourage those who want to move abroad to do so. That is exactly how Nigeria attracts those much needed forex without having to bendover for IMF.

Train more and more and make the country conducive for those at home to thrive

PoliticsRe: Deji Adeyanju's Opinion Of Wike (Throwback) by Dokitto001: 5:01am On Nov 17, 2024
You guys must grow up and learn constructive criticism. Agreeing with or giving accolades to someone when they perform well does not invalidate your opinions on the person when they go wrong .

Wike did built projects as a Gov of Rivers state and perhaps still as an FCT minister. But does that invalidate the fact that WIke is a violent man and directly responsible for 10s of lives lost during general elections? Does that reduce the fact that Wike is a control freak and recking havoc in Rivers state now? Does that mean he cannot be chastised for how he is displacing Abuja residents?

PoliticsRe: Presidency Spends N5.1billion On Purchase Of Another 26 Vehicles To State House by Dokitto001: 7:20pm On Nov 13, 2024
Exactly my point.
IMF knows African leaders are idiots.

Borrow our money and send it directly back to us in the name of purchase of vehicles and whatnot.

Then go back and tax your people more and keep them perpetually indebted.

PoliticsRe: IMF: Property Taxes Can Help Nigeria, Others Develop by Dokitto001: 9:54am On Nov 13, 2024
IMF don't care about Africans.
In fact IMF is a western tool to keep Africa and poor countries impoverished.

Here's how.

IMF gives federal government loan and insists they pay it back in dollars in about 10 or 20years times. ( let's say $5b) Today dollar is 1600 and that'll be about 8trn or so naira.

By the time Nigeria would have to pay back in 20yrs it'll have about 50trn naira due to inflation. And also remember that interests would be accrued and paid all these years.

Now IMF also pushes Nigeria to tax its citizens more and this leaves the citizen with little or no money for capital investments after tax.

And guess what happens to the IMF loan? The politician steal them and goes to give them back to those western nations in the name of buying houses, sending their kids to porche schools, health tourism, buying expensive jets and cars for politicians.

So in essence these guys gives us liabilities and leaves us and children with mountains of depts to pay.

Stop IMF or any external loans expect for named projects that has the capacity of paying it back.
