I have been so busy nowadays, the cucumber project really took much of our time that we nearly forget we still have some other project neglected, in short this cucumber of a plant require too much time and care. For the past two weeks we are so busy staking our yam (just 6plots).
And mind you we still have the seed yam project,pepper and Golden Mellon. The major problem is that we don't have enough hands,to get farm worker this days is not easy,most of our youth are not ready to get their hands dirty but dey won ride vensa. By God grace later today or tomorrow I will create another trend for seed yam production (stay tune).

am an undergraduate who have zeal for farming ..in my little research I discovered more planting form are part time(in which u check maybe every three days ) bt the rearing aspect it requires ones full attention to avoid much loss,I know one could engage the services of other bt am talking a new farmer with little capital ..so my question is based on ur perception in the field which is the more profitable to venture into?

thank u bro for d eye opening packaging stuff. currently i hv issue with how to go about mine ,my nursery is due for transplanting, the nursery site(my home) to my farm is about 3 hours drive. i first did nursery in the farm to avoid stressing them during transit but it was set ablaze by unknown being, that is why i did another at home to secure it. i wl attached d pix of d burnt nursery n d new nursery later.

pls educate me more about d processes involved as to reduce over stressing d plants during transit.
secondly, permit me to ask d following question:
>with ur packaging, how many hours/days can d seedlings spend b4 planting?
>since u are transporting to PHC, which state/town is ur nursery located?
>is it advisable to uproot them by evening, say 6pm, package them and move them to farm d following morning?this is to to enable us start planting early b4 sun shines,cos we are planting close to 2 acres. it is more of tomato,pepper should be around 1,000.

I love farming after my program I wish to venture into agriculture bt it requires a lot of capital for it to be a full time enterprise... I tried to search through the search engine to look for the largest farm in Nigeria and learn from the owner and their stories only to discover 2/3 are politician (ex and present)...

Nice thread I believed most planting form of agriculture is more of part time business unlike rearing(poultry etc) are full time enterprise so my question cab I focus on planting as a full time business??
