Politics / Re: All States Must Abide By Proposed Minimum Wage – Ngige by domiron: 1:30pm On Jan 08, 2018
Aonkuuse:
Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige has disclosed that all states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory would be mandated to abide by the new minimum wage being arranged by the Federal Government.
The minister made this known while addressing the media in his native Anambra state on Saturday.
He said that it is wrong for state governors to bicker over matters related to the minimum wage, which the 1999 constitution placed under the exclusive legislative list under the purview of the Federal Government.
Some states have been demanding that they be left alone to negotiate with their workers over the minimum wage, so that they could arrive at a figure they could afford to pay.
However, Ngige said this was against the provision of the Constitution.
The minister disclosed that a tripartite committee set up to fashion out a new minimum wage for Nigerians workers has commented work after its inauguration on December 14, 2017.
He said, “The committee, which had brought out a framework that will guide it, will conclude its work by the third quarter of 2018 and then submit its report to enable the Federal Government Issue a white paper and subsequently transmit the content to the National Assembly.
“That is why the President is not over flogging the issue, but he is monitoring the work of the committee. One thing that is clear is that the states will abide by whatever will be the outcome of the work of the committee because they (governors) have nominees there.
“The Governors’ Forum is represented in the committee and the Federal Government component is represented by five Ministers and the Head of Service of the Federation. It will therefore be against the spirit of the constitution for the states to have their own minimum wage.”
He reiterated that no state would be allowed to pay below the minimum wage.

When minimum wage was taken to 18k, Lagos refused to pay and was paying 12k....You want people that can't and those that don't want to to pay 35k. Are you going to chain them if they refuse?. LOL....Ngige, I laugh at you.

Many people read without comprehending. Reading comprehension is so low among Nigerians.

What the pope is calling for is a better translation.

At the moment, the Italian translation of a part of the prayer goes thus:

“He that pushes me into temptation and then sees how I fall,”

The English translation reads:

"Lead me not into temptation and deliver me from all evil."

Can you spot the one that is more Godly among the two versions? The pope desires for the Italian version to not sound spiteful.

Lol -- reading your comments make me go "Na Wa Oh".

Let us do some political arithmetic and permutations before some people will hallucinate and masturbate on this thread.

Kano gave APC 1.9 MILLION VOTES IN 2015

PMB won the election with 2.5 million votes. PMB 15 million, GEJ 12.5 MILLION votes

There was no contender to share the votes in the north with PMB. Now there is one.

If you know politics, you will know that you can never have 1.9million votes from Kano again with a fellow northern contender.

South west, south East, South South, and middle belt will make a lot of Difference.

If PMB understands politics, the people he should be romancing are his weak areas which are South west, south East, South South. the northern votes are divided already, even if PDP is presenting a rat.

Contender or 2 million manufactured votes with no voided votes...Lmao. Please say something else.

Sports / Re: Russia 2018 World Cup: German Coach Rates Morocco Higher Than Nigeria by domiron: 4:52pm On Nov 23, 2017
robosky02:
Loew rates Morocco higher than Nigeria

Germany Coach, Joachim Loew sees Morocco as the most dangerous team from Africa going to the World Cup despite the fact that Nigeria was the first team to make it to Russia from the continent, reports owngoalnigeria.com.

Sharing his expectations of the World Cup yesterday, the coach of the reigning world champions said of all the five teams from Africa Morocco stands out because of the quality of its players and football.

Germany will be in action in the World Cup 2018 in Russia and Loew while speaking on their chances and options available to him ahead of the championship also shed lights on teams he expect to do well at the World Cup.

“We know some very good teams from all over the World are coming, like in Africa Morocco did well in the qualifying series and they will be the team most people would be expecting to pull surprises from Africa,” he said.

Morocco, just like Nigeria, stayed undefeated throughout the qualifying series but unlike Nigeria they didn’t concede a single goal.

Meanwhile, after impressing in the defeat of Argentina last week, ADO Den Haag defender, Tyronne Ebuehi is dreaming of a place in Nigeria’s squad at the World Cup.

The full-back replaced Shehu Abdullahi after the interval as Gernot Rohr’s men overcame a two-goal deficit to secure a 4-2 win over Jorge Sampaoli’s men in a friendly encounter in Krasnodar.

Despite coming up against Paris Saint-Germain’s Angel Di Maria and AS Roma winger, Diego Perotti, Ebuehi gave a solid performance defensively – and was also a reliable offensive outlet, on the right wing.

And the Dutch-born player believes he has done enough to convince the Super Eagles’ selectors of his talent of his chances to be in next year’s showpiece in Russia

“I think it went well, I have a lot of speed and I try to get a lot,” Ebuehi told NOS .

“I did not contribute that much. I think I left a good impression, it would be nice to be part of that World Cup next year.”

After opting to represent his fatherland, the former Netherlands youth international made his debut for the Super Eagles in a 3-0 win over Togo on June 1.

Although he was part of the squad that secured the country’s sixth World Cup appearance, he is yet to win any competitive cap for the Super Eagles as his outings have all come in friendlies.

At ADO Den Haag, Ebuehi has played all 12 games in the Dutch Eredivisie this term and will be looking to help Alfons Groenendijk’s side pick maximum points from the GelreDome when they play Vitesse on November 26.

Not the first time though, but when the competition starts, Morocco won't make knockout.
