Changed the engine to be able to use it for few more months (maybe a year) but got a better Camry Hybrid offer (2007), so I felt its better to let go. The car has served me so well. Painted once, body still in top shape. Car is presently being serviced with the Mobil 1 advanced fully synthetic oil (US).

Verdict: A good buy for whoever buys this.

Just an advice, hybrids are not cheap to maintain and require a very competent electrical mechanic to handle it.

Plus many people sell off their hybrid when they can't cope with the maintenance anymore, maybe that's why you got a "good deal" on it.

1. Do you know the electrical battery alone costs not less than 300k alone to replace?

2. Do you know the battery can electrocute anyone if not properly handled?

3. Do you know you can't just take it to any car wash without prior experience of hybrid cars and its care?

4. Do you know that any hybrid battery has a life span and most people sell off when the battery is getting close to it's expiry date hence the reason most of them sell cheap atimes?

5. Do you know it will cost you not less than 450k to convert it to normal system here in Ibadan should in case something goes wrong and you can't maintain the hybrid engine system anymore?

Please consult more before you pay for the hybrid, it might end up being a wasteful venture in the long run.

By all means bro, pls go for the hybrid camry. Toyota's hybrids are great and come with amazing efficacy On gas mileage, and some other maintenance like engine servicing and brake servicing too. If u like speed, pls dont be deterred by the Op's opinion, they give as much horsepower as u desire, only that handling might be poor because the ride feels weightless most times.

07 Highlander hybrid used cumulatively #6000 on fuel from Port Harcourt to Uromi in Édo state and back, covering roughly 249miles(may have to check where i copied that down to be sure.)

The major challenge hybrids have had in this country are qualified technical personnel to handle em. However that's no longer the case. In Port Harcourt there are a number of guys who are well trained on hybrid vehicle maintenance. I've met persons who ve driven their hybrids for 6years with neither changing the battery nor major hybrid components. As with most equipment hybrid systems have rules; u stick to them, they serve u well. Basically don't touch wat ure prohibited from touching, don't place the car on neutral Wen idling- to prolong battery life and transmission issues, and be sure to READ THE MANUAL COVER TO COVER!!!

What's this one saying? Incomplete combustion of fuel causes carbon emissions which is environmental pollution. How does a system running on a battery cause global warming and pollution? As for where the electricity comes from, where do u think the energy for continuous charging of the car battery comes from? Go and find out the job of the alternator of a car.

And here I am, thinking of buying an Hybrid Camry. Let me read well and see if I need to think twice.
