Weddings are a chance to show the world your love in a totally unique way but one couple has taken their individuality to the extreme.

Jenny Tay, 29, and Darren Cheng, 30, who both work as undertakers and are preparing for their big day, say that the concept of death is as important to them as ever, even when it comes to saying ‘I do’.

Jenny, who is a Buddhist, told the Straits Times: “When couples take wedding pictures, many of them think of something significant and meaningful to them – their favourite cafe, the place where they first met. Both of us are very passionate about our jobs, so I thought, why not?”
The images were snapped in a park in Punggol, Singapore – one of many unusual shoots to have been organised by newly-married couples in recent times.

Jenny and her husband were keen for it to be “pretty and whimsical” so they eschewed the idea of setting it in a graveyard.

Darren has even written a children’s book about death, Where Did Grandpa Go, because it is part of life. The happy couple got photographer Joel Lim on board, and he was happy to be involved in the concept.

According to one of the residents, 63-year-old Kautloa Mocheko, “The tree is well known as a ‘ways opener’– it makes people like you.

“As for women, this muthi is even worse. You attract girls by just opening your mouth and speaking to them,” he said.

Another resident, Fanie Giba, 69, said the sweet plant can help you to be loved and favoured when you speak to people.

“Even if you are fighting with your wife or husband, you just come to get a piece of it. And whenever you start speaking to your lover when you arrive home, it will be all smiles and tears of joy!” he said.

“The tree is sweet and helps to bring reconciliation between two people and even makes them fall in love,” he said.

According to the Nairobi Times, Members of the Republican Liberty Party have threatened to mobilize “approximately 5,000 totally naked men and women to protest over Obama’s open and aggressive support for homosexuality”.

In a letter addressed to the Administration Police Commandant, the party, together with its 5,000 naked Kenyans are set to throng the streets of Nairobi on 22nd and 23rd of this month is protest of growing support for homosexuality.

Zimbabwean president Robert Mugabe has challenged US President Barack.Obama by asking his hand in marriage. His comment comes at the back of the legalization of gay marriage in the US by the Supreme Court.

During Mugabe’s weekly radio interview with Zimbabwe’s national radio last Saturday, he said:

“I’ve just concluded since President Obama endorses the same-sex marriage, advocates homosexual people and enjoys an attractive countenance thus if it becomes necessary, I shall travel to Washington, D.C. , get down on my knee and ask Obama’s hand.

According to Al Jazeera, at least 113 people have been killed after an Indonesian military transport plane crashed shortly after take-off into a city on Sumatra island, exploding in a ball of flames in a residential area.


There was no immediate accurate detail as to how many of the victims were in the plane or on the ground.

The plane was said to be on its way from an air force base in Medan, and was headed to Natuna islands.

It crashed a few minutes after takeoff.

Several buildings within the vicinity were left in ruins, amid fears that more deaths will be recorded.

There have been accidents in the past involving the Indonesian air force.


In April, an F-16 fighter jet caught fire as it was about to take off from an airbase in Jakarta, prompting the pilot to jump to safety as flames and thick smoke engulfed the plane.

The pilot was reported to have escaped with minor injuries from the jet which had been due to provide security at a summit of Asian and African leaders in Indonesia.

This happened a month after two air force planes from an Indonesian aerobatics team crashed during a practice session ahead of an air show on Malaysia’s Langkawi island.

Reports say that all four pilots ejected successfully and survived.

Statistics have shown that the civil aviation safety record in Indonesia is very poor.

An Indonesian AirAsia plane crashed in December enroute from Indonesia’s Surabaya to Singapore, killing all 162 people on board.

The Football fans and Players are always very anxious to know the team their club will be playing against, the time and date.

Apart from football fans closing monitoring the transfer activities of their favorite club during the off-season, they also stay on their toes to know the fixtures of the club.

A question has always been in the mind of the fans, how are this matches fixed?

The fixtures are not fixed by a computer, and usually takes around four months to be fixed.

The fixture-list compiler, Glenn Thompson, of Atos, an international IT services company has open up on how it is been done.


When does the work start?

For me it begins at the start of the year; that's when I get the playing dates from the Premier League. The whole thing is built up putting in the international matches from FIFA and UEFA, then the European club competitions, then the Football Association adds in the dates for its competitions and what you are left with are the dates when you can play league and Capital One Cup matches.

"The fixtures for the Rugby World Cup taking place in England in the autumn of this year at some Premier League grounds has added another factor to consider this time around but we have had discussions for a number of years over this so this has helped to facilitate a situation where we have all worked together to get the fixtures to suit all parties.

What is "sequencing"?

That's the methodology we use which was created back in 1982. It is all about breaking the season down into a number of constituent parts, which are called sets. We break it down into five sets, which are reversed in the second half of the season.
Are there any rules you have to adhere to?
There are the "golden rules" of sequencing. In any five matches there should be a split of three home fixtures, two away or the other way around. A team will never have more than two home or away matches in a row, and, wherever possible, you will be home and away around FA Cup ties.
A club will never start or finish the season with two home or two away matches because it would be unfair for a team to finish with two aways, especially if they are looking for points. Around the Christmas period, if you are at home on Boxing Day you will be away on New Year's Day or the equivalent date and we will also try to maintain a Saturday home-away sequence throughout the season wherever possible.

Do clubs from the same area play at home on the same day?

Most clubs will have a partner club that they cannot clash with. There are the obvious ones - Manchester United and Manchester City, Liverpool and Everton - and then when you get into London it gets a bit more complex and less obvious. For example, you have got the likes of Dagenham & Redbridge and Leyton Orient, who wish to be away when West Ham United are scheduled a home match. But because both Dagenham & Redbridge and Leyton Orient are in the same division in 2015/16 it is impossible for them to be always opposite West Ham, otherwise they would never play a match against each other.

What happens next?

Around March, the Premier League sends to each of its member clubs a form asking them to fill in three things: Are there any dates they wish not to be at home? That is answered in conjunction with the local police. They will also be asked which club they want to pair with and whether there are any teams they do not wish to play at home on Boxing Day.

Can you satisfy all of the requests?

From looking at the sequence we know how many of these dates we can meet. When we can't, the Premier League will ask the club which of the requests are most important. We cannot accommodate everything but, on average, we satisfy higher than 85% every year.

How do the fixtures get processed?

We cannot do anything until we know the
composition of each division, which is, obviously, after the last Football League play-off. Then we can start looking at the main bit of compiling the fixtures. It is a matter of placing each of the clubs in a pairing grid, which basically defines the dates they will be at home. For every date in the season, the fixture computer knows who is at home and who is away and then it will mix them up randomly
to determine which matches will take place on
which date.

What happens if there are any problems?

If we have got any issues, we might have to go
back and start again to produce a different set of fixtures. I'm reviewing the fixtures all the time to ensure other things can be met. In the 2011/12 season, for example, there was a requirement from the Metropolitan Police not to play high-profile matches until after 8 September because of the Olympics and Paralympics.

How is the fixture list checked?

The Premier League, the Football League and Atos representatives will sit down and review the fixtures for two days, looking at every date in the season to make sure that wherever possible we have met everything we have been asked to. At that stage the computer is very useful because if we do not want a certain fixture on a particular date, it will give us alternate dates for that fixture to be moved to. It can be that changing one match may require 40 other changes.We also have a working party meeting with representatives from all the leagues, the FA and
also a fans representative, from the Football Supporters' Federation. They will have had an introductory meeting in March before the fixtures are produced and then just before the fixtures are released they will meet again to go through key dates of the fixture list, such as opening day and the Christmas schedule, and provide a check that all the requirements we have considered have been adequately dealt with.
The fixtures are then looked at by the Association of Chief Police Officers and British Transport Police representatives.

Do you consider travel issues?

Yes. We look at whether we have got clubs from the same area travelling on the same trainlines across the Football League and the Premier League on the same day. We want to avoid having various "pinch points" on the rail and road network. We also tell the computer to try to minimise travel on Boxing Day and New Year's Day.

How are the fixtures released?

After the fixtures have been finalised, it's just a matter of printing them out and sending them to the leagues. The fixtures are then released to the relevant press distributers the night before so they can distribute them on the morning of release.

Is it the impossible job?

You can't satisfy everyone. It's a compromise
across all clubs; you can't do anything to favour any one club. There are 2,036 matches, across the Premier League and Football League over a nine-month period, and the ideal solution is to ensure that those matches can all be played at 3pm on a Saturday.

JOB PURPOSE
The Human Resources Officer will support the work of the Human Resources Unit and assists with the administration of the day-to-day operations of the human resources functions and duties in BBC Media Action Nigeria.

Duties:

Some three attackers were killed while one security personnel was injured after militants attacked an intelligence office in southern Afghanistan’ s Kandahar city on Sunday morning, an official source said.

The attack took place after one militant rammed a car bomb to the wall of the building which houses the fast-reaction forces of the National Directorate of Security (NDS), the country’s intelligence agency, the source told Xinhua anonymously. “Shortly after the initial blast which occurred at around 6:00 a.m. (local time), two other militants ridding motorbikes approached the building and clashed with the NDS forces. They were shot dead before entering the compound,” he said. “One NDS security officer was wounded as we know. But details will be revealed after an ongoing investigation,” the source added.

The attacked building is located close to an industrial area. Several factories at the site were damaged besides the targeted building in the city which is the provincial capital of southern Kandahar province.

18 pupils from St Mary’s Diocesan School for Girls in Pretoria, who were in Nepal when the earthquake struck on Saturday, say they are happy that they have returned to South Africa safely.

The girls returned home on Friday.

They had visited the Asian country to participate in educational expeditions. Their anxious parents flocked to the OR Tambo International Airport to welcome them back.

One of the parents, Judith Jenkins, says she is relieved that the children are back home, “I’m so, so relieved. I’m so blessed that she is back home it’s just fantastic to touch her, look at her and feel her. I’m just so happy.”

Her daughter, Chloe Jenkins, say the experience was very confusing, “It was a bit confusing because we didn’t really know what was going on, because we felt the tremor and we didn’t feel the earthquake.”

Another mother, Khahliso Matoane, says she could not imagine losing her only child, “There is nothing as good as having my daughter back and safe in my arms.” Ntshikeng Motoane , her daughter, says it was a bad experience.

Money is my best asset. I can get almost every asset with money. I am crazy about cars too. The lowest/highest fee he has charged for a show; My lowest was N3, 000 and that was my first show at the University of Lagos in 2000. Unfortunately, the producer absconded with my money before I noticed it. I have done many shows for free. The highest money I have received is in millions.
