The anonymous nature of this thread is the beauty and the most interesting aspect of it.. Most people won't reveal financial/business secrets or open their hearts to you if you know too much about their real identity, also considering the high level of insecurity in the country.

Oga, Whatsapp group will destroy this thread in no time..... Once you create a Whatsapp group, you will see the religious side of Nigerians, those who believe you can become wealthy by rebuking and casting all the imaginable demons in their village, they will start sending all kinds of useless things, and instruct you to share the useless message to ten people and become richer than Dangote before month end.

Keith05cool:
I have an idea, with the way we discuss here, I actually don’t know if most of us here are professionals in the financial industry but the level of knowledge is very good, I applaud you guys, I will advocate we create a WhatsApp group, share more ideas on investing, those who are in cities can have a physical group meeting, it will grow confidence and one can appreciate the value of such group with high engagement, my advice please 🙏🏾 house

I am not disregarding SEC approval to fund managers, but since Emefiele ruined and destroyed our economy, it is very hard to completely trust any arm of our financial regulatory bodies.. If you know you know...

IamtheDef:
This is quite laughable really. So you think SEC just hands out approval to every tom and harry
InvestmentRe: Mutual Funds by Donbrig: 6:52pm On Jan 15
Lol... No risk no success. But we all just have to be careful though, now that many Nigerians are embracing money market funds, we are also gonna see new asset managers emerging from different angles, and even those our traditional money collectors (OSUSU/ISUSU) will become asset managers and get their approval from SEC.

Iamblessed88:
And how are you sure it’s not MMM? Good luck. We will be here for the tears

InvestmentRe: Mutual Funds by Donbrig: 7:55pm On Jan 10
Well said, with his 176m and Stanbic monthly reinvestment, he is still gonna stand in a good position.

Beeron:
To be frank, 2 million plus monthly returns isn't bad at 15.63% percent, at that rate of returns, you earn more than 80% of Nigerians working 9-5 jobs.

I know your fear, which is — what happens if Stanbic rate falls lower, that your 2 million plus returns monthly can't be guaranteed. That's your fear.

First, let me calm you down, by telling you that; Don't get too worked up about MMF rates, rather, see the good in it, which is easing inflation. The less of inflation which CBN is trying to get under control, the more purchasing power your money will have or would you rather rates gets increased every month and your millions and accrued interests becomes worthless like Zimbabwe type inflation — lol — your millions will be worth trillions but can't buy bread.

Secondly, Don't get too worried about falling rates because, MPC knows what they are doing when they converge. I know they also know one undeniable fact which is: They can cut rate but they can NEVER cut rate below basis points that will stop making Nigeria fixed income investment less attractive to foreign investors. (I can bet my last Naira on this fact), If they try that... A lot will go wrong and FX will take the fall, so CBN can't risk that, this is why you should relax your mind.

Thirdly — sorry, running out of time, I will come back to complete this third point. Need to attend to something else now.
InvestmentRe: Mutual Funds by Donbrig: 6:39pm On Jan 08
CBN increased treasury bill rates yesterday, but Stanbi ibtc is reducing their rates, 15.49% at the moment, I have always thought treasury bill is the main underlying asset for mutual fund.
InvestmentRe: Mutual Funds by Donbrig: 4:15pm On Jan 07
Hmm So people still dey invest with FBNQuest, those guys show me SHEGE PRO MAX.
InvestmentRe: Mutual Funds by Donbrig: 4:50pm On Jan 06
I agree with you on this... It is far better to aggressively top-up your mmf account, than risk your funds in equity, e get some huge funds wey go dey inside your mutual fund account, even if the interest rate is 7%, you will still be contented with your daily earnings.

Be rest assured, no matter how low interest rate might be this your, some fund managers will NEVER go below 12% or 13%.

Beeron:
I told you the last time, You will enjoy this year, it's a year of stocks, ETFs and Equities.

The stock market closed bullish last week, Banking stocks which I believe is driving your equity growth are all priced in expecially after most banks met up with CBN recapitalization and balance sheet looks strong.

Another reason is, risk taking investors are now reviewing their portfolio this new year and many of them are taking positions in the stock market because of one reason.

The capital market rate is going down eventually this year. So to all those worried about Stanbic 15%, this is just the beginning because imagine when CBN eventually cut MPR rate later In the year.

The smartest thing to do right now as a capital market investor, is to either top up your investment aggressively and so much to cover up for short fall of rates later in the year and enjoy compound interest or stop being loyal to a certain fund manager, shop around for best rate, split your investment to enjoy wide variety of rates.

There is even one smart way to play in both market (stock and capital market) and not loose your capital. I will soon make a video about it.
InvestmentRe: Mutual Funds by Donbrig: 4:43pm On Jan 06
Oga Equity, take it easy with this your equity mission, majority of us here are conservative investors, that's why we are finding rest of mind with MMF.

Abeg nor tempt us go put money for where we nor sabi, we don't want to start taking high blood pressure medications.

EquityM:
What kind of equity? I recommend CardinalStone equity, starting from 5k; United Capital YTD at the end of 2025 was 46.85%, and CardinalStone did 60.00%, and they are starting a new phase at the moment. If you can risk 50k, you might make some good returns.
InvestmentRe: Mutual Funds by Donbrig:
Norrenberger and Trustbanc fund managers are doing extremely well, those without account with these fund managers are missing alot, we hope they keep it up throughout 2026.

I will give FirstAlly a try this year, good reports from them, though I don't have any experience with their services.

However, I always get discouraged whenever I want to redeem my funds with Stanbic and transfer to other fund managers.
The Otumokpo Stanbic fund managers did to hold investors money is very strong ohhh, even with a very low rate for months now...

Creditalerts:
Three top MMF with nice rates in 2026 are:✌🏾
TRUSTBANC
Norrenberger
FirstAlly myinvestar

For swift withdrawal of investment (capital)in 5mins
FirstAlly myinvestar is the number one😘

My research though I stand to be corrected if u have proof grin
InvestmentRe: Mutual Funds by Donbrig: 4:06pm On Jan 03
@EquityM, take it easy sir, We all are still in public holidays naa, including fund managers, main working activities starts next Monday, 5th January. Normally, Norrenberger fund managers don't waste time updating your account once you top-up, infact, they are the fastest in updating your account once you top-up.

EquityM:
On January 2nd, I topped up my MMF account using Norrenberger's app. It still hasn't shown up. As soon as my dividend is credited, I'm done with them.
InvestmentRe: Mutual Funds by Donbrig: 9:30pm On Jan 01
It is your hard-earned money, no risk withdrawing your money at all, even if it is over a billion naira.. If you are withdrawing huge fund, you might have to give Stanbic about 2 to 3 working days to process your redemption.

The way Stanbic MMF rates dey dance skelewu nowadays is very confusing...

Just port to other fund managers with higher interest rates at the moment, but don't close or withdraw everthing from your Stanbic MMF fund, because table might turn in their favour tomorrow...

IamtheDef:
Are there risks initiating withdrawal for a large sum now, I want to move all my funds from Stanbic somewhere else but I'm trying to exercise caution, don't want trouble from nowhere
InvestmentRe: Mutual Funds by Donbrig: 3:11pm On Jan 01
Norrenberger is the best when it comes to dollar mutual fund.

preciouseze7:
Good afternoon and a happy new year to everyone.

I currently have naira mmf with Cowrywise.

Looking forward to your responses.

Thank you.

This tax issue is gonna push Nigerians to the wall, I am worried of what is ahead of us..... Massive taxation of citizens is one of the conditions World-Bank, IMF often give our goverment before lending them money, we saw how it played out in Kenya. The issue is not the tax, but a govt mismanaged system that doesn't function... Taxing Nigerians more is gonna create more funds for our politicians to embezzle and boost their offshore bank accounts.

If Nigeria na country wey things dey work properly, I would be willing to pay 40% of my profits to goverment...

Forget about investments for now, let us enter 2026 with thanksgivings, lets thank God for His grace and mercy upon our lives, na who dey alive dey invest money.. Even all the fund managers are thanking God they survived our endless complaints and bantering.

synoble:
Hi Stanbic folks.

I intend to topup my Stanbic mmf account using the UBA collection account and my unique ID eAccount reference. But I intend to use an opay account not the traditional/standard bank account I filled in for withdrawals and I used to pay in when I made the initial capital funding into the mmf earlier in the year.

Hope the opay funding will not complicate issues ?
InvestmentRe: Mutual Funds by Donbrig: 4:14pm On Dec 30, 2025
All the fund managers are doing well, just that I trust the integrity of some fund managers more than some... I will always go with Norrenberger and TrustBanc anytime, anyday...

Stanbic fund managers for example, they had to wait for investors to complain about the low rate before they increased rate. We know that the main aim of all fund managers is to make huge profits, but some fund managers are more transparent than some...

Stanbic ibtc had made far more than the 15%-16% they were giving investors for weeks, with over 2 trillion under their management, now imagine how many billions they have made by reducing rates with almost 3+% for weeks.

But some fund managers won't be too greedy to short-change investors like that...

I am happy we now have so many fund managers in the industry and the competition is tensed, unlike few years ago when we had very few players in the industry.

The job of SEC is to ensure investors don't lose their capital and mandate fund managers to invest in their various certified instruments, however, SEC cannot prevent fund managers from short-changing investors, because that is another ball game entirely, if you know you know..

bassdow:
you either MENTION no NAME at all or You MENTION all NAMEs else na advert we go talk say you dey do.

Which one be say "I don't want to disCredit any fund mananger" YET you went ahead to CreDit some fund managers abi what are you not...
InvestmentRe: Mutual Funds by Donbrig: 5:01pm On Dec 29, 2025
This is exactly what I was trying to explain to a very wealthy friend, some fund managers are like our politicians, what you get is different from what they promised during elections.

The rates of some fund managers does not always correlate with what they often pay into your account, I don't want to discredit any fund manager...

Trustbanc and Norrenberger fund managers are the best at the moment, e get why... It is not just about their competitive rates, you get exactly what you are supposed to get or according to their daily accrued interest.

Allboiz:
HYIS Premium is not worth it then since it'll be taxed.

Have you done a calculation to be sure their rate matches the interest you get? Some mmf organisation put fake high interest rate but the daily return doesn't correlate.
InvestmentRe: Mutual Funds by Donbrig: 5:59pm On Dec 28, 2025
TrustBank and Norrenberger fund managers did extremely well in the 4th Quarter of 2025, their performances were beyond expectations.

Norrenberger mmf has even paid investors upfront (29th Dec 2025) at the rate of 18.68%. Perhaps they paid upfront to ease the stress and glitches that's gonna occur during the last hectic 3 working days of the year.

Meanwhile, Stanbic fund managers might still be strategising on how to strenthen their position in 2026, and retain their leadership position in the industry, because things haven't been going well in their camp.

Every body cannot be wealthy or gain financial freedom in life.
InvestmentRe: Mutual Funds by Donbrig: 5:12pm On Dec 25, 2025
If you have over 100M+ with a fund manager who isn't performing to expectations, you will have more than enough strength to relocate your funds immediately...

The gap between some fund managers in the past 7 to 8 weeks is over 2 to 3+%, that is a whole lot of differences, especially when your fund with such managers with low rate is huge.

bassdow:
No be everyBody get strength to do migration. Would suggest people just leave with them what's currently there. Best would be to prioritize subsequent top ups with others
InvestmentRe: Mutual Funds by Donbrig:
@Beeron, thanks for all your contributions.. Its like cowrywise is acting like a middleman to these multiple fund managers, like a shopping mall where you go select goods of your choice?

TrustBank and Norrenberger fund managers are exceptionally good at the moment, we hope they keep the firing burning for a long time...

It does't make any economic sense staying with a particular brand/fund manager when it no longer serves your financial goals.

Beeron:
Exactly, Just invest in one high paying yield MMF this month on cowrywise and if by next month, that MMF yield drops, pull out your money and invest in another high paying mmf in the same cowrywise.

You don't need signing up for multiple MMF outside of cowrywise and all aggregated MMF on cowrywise are all SEC Approved.

And cowrywise doesn't have 30-days money hold policy before withdrawal, this is why it will be smart to trade MMF like stock on cowrywise, shop for the best deal.
InvestmentRe: Mutual Funds by Donbrig: 8:57pm On Dec 24, 2025
Norrenberger MMF is about 18.94% and all Norrenberger investors are going to enjoy this rate the whole Xmas holiday...

Stanbic too do us, time to port.....
InvestmentRe: Mutual Funds by Donbrig: 8:49pm On Dec 24, 2025
Stanbic rate is very very discouraging at the moment, my concern is not just the 15.73% at the moment, but how low Stanbic rate would be if CBN should decide to reduce rate in February 2026, Stanbic might go single digit rate....

Other fund managers are hitting 17 to 18+%

Stanbic fund managers nor try at all.... They aren't wishing us a good happy Christmas with these rates..

Its like Stanbic now invest our funds in ordinary bank deposits

Preator:
Now stanbic rate is now looking ludicrous. 15.73%?
InvestmentRe: Mutual Funds by Donbrig:
@Beeron, God bless you, na man you be... Despite the fact that @lamblessed88 tried to prevent you from educating us here, you didn't ignore his questions, you answered him in a very polite manner and even offered to do a video for him if he doesn't get youranswers clearly. To me, there is no other better ways to show love and brotherhood. Kudos bro..

We know we have a lot of scammers and bad eggs amongst us, but we still have so many Nigerians with integrity and the fear of God.

It is always good to give people the opportunity to be trusted. We open accounts online with different fund managers and deposit millions/billions of naira/dollars in their accounts without ever meeting any of the fund managers face to face, that is trust, accompanied with risk, after all, no investment on earth is 100% risk free.

I have subscribed to your youtube channel, I also want to encourage others to subscribe and support a brother, he hasn't asked us to pay money into his account or buy anything from him....

Your Youtube videos are well loaded with watertight informations, I had to watch some multiple times to get the message correctly, because we weren't taught most of these things in school, even in our universities.

Beeron:
You the same person who told me to stop posting my videos links here but here you are asking a basic question the last video covered and I also have a dedicated video just for this type question (MMF security) but it isn't posted here.

Anyways Sha, I will still help you break this down.

No! You don't have to insure this type of low risk investment, MMF is low risk but it doesn't mean it doesn't carry any risk at all.

What you should understand is many insurance companies also play in the MMF space, Axa mansard is one of them.

So if Axa mansard, an insurance company runs MMF and possibly have large chunks of their fund in MMF, What level of fear do you have that is greater than the risk tolerance of an investment company investiing?

Secondly, Nigeria has another type of guarantees to oversee the affairs of MMF managers which we know as SEC.

There other types of natural guarantees that protect your funds but let me stop here.

Now what you should understand is this and it will shock you.

Nigeria Banks are the most regulated in the whole world. YES, I said that..... In the whole world.

Now imagine, Nigeria banks being highly regulated, but the system that provides banks and government with liquidity is left to fail... Naaah not possible. That's why MMF can't fail.

If you don't understand, tell me, let me make a video and show you in practical from another angle and tell you when MMF will fail and the signs you should always look out for.
InvestmentRe: Mutual Funds by Donbrig: 8:00pm On Dec 20, 2025
Norrenberger is well positioned, they are street stmart, quiet and tactically grounded. I think they are the only fund managers with headoffice in Abuja. We wey dey with Stanbic IBTC dey envy them sometimes....

There's every reason for Stanbic fund managers to be bothered ohhh, with today's high-tech in our financial sector, any new fund manager could become the king in the industry in a short period of time...

Stanbic fund managers should upgrade and put more smiles on investors faces, not easy seeing other fund managers hitting 17+% and almighty Stanbic had been battling with 16% for a while...

No doubt Stanbic IBTC had made a great reputation for their brand in the industry, but when big brands don't upgrade and catch up with current realities in the market, new brands will take over in no time.... Go and ask FBNQuest fund managers.

bassdow:
One thing people should be aware of is, the maturedbig brands are not really in same position (desperate) as the new guys hence reason the likes of norrenberger would try to woo you with higher rates while the likes of Stanbic IBTC seem unBothered.

Afterall iPhone no dey fear to put big price on top their phones whereAs the likes of tecNo no fit try am else no market.

Another thing is, hopefully, those offering higher rates, ain't doing shady things.
InvestmentRe: Mutual Funds by Donbrig: 1:44pm On Dec 20, 2025
We should still be patient with Stanbic, I still have over 80% of my funds with them, not that Stanbic fund managers aren't good, just that we now have multiple fund managers who are working extremely hard to make a big name for their brands in the industry.

I hope Stanbic fund managers improves in 2026, I strongly believe they will come up with new features to reclaim their position in the industry.
InvestmentRe: Mutual Funds by Donbrig: 10:58am On Dec 20, 2025
Thanks for sharing, this was really informative.

Beeron:
If you are confused and looking to understand why some MMF daily rate is low and others high. Like how Stanbic is hovering around 16% and Norrenberger shot up yesterday to around 24%.

Take a moment to watch this video I made to educate about about it. And if you have questions afterwards, I will answer.

For about 7yrs now, I have attentively studied the best options between MMF and Treasury bills, at the end of my intensed observation, after investing aggressively in both instruments, I honestly want to tell you all that MMF has far more advantages than treasury bills in all ramification, and MMF is one of the best ways to accumulate great wealth, with LIQUIDITY.

Most people often think treasury bills is the best options, I wouldn't blame them because I was in that position before...

Let me break it down properly... Patient is one of the greatest advantages most successful or wealthy investors have over others, and in MMF you need a whole lot of patience to count your multiple wins and patience is what most Nigerians don't have, because of our quest for urgent results or wealth...

If you calculate the YEAR-TO-DATE (YTD) rates of most asset managers like Stanbic, FBNQuest, Norrenberger etc, you gonna be having 17% and above, with the advantage of reinvesting your fund quarterly or monthly (by stanbic only)

Treasury bill is good if you are the impatient investor, but MMF is for those with passion to build great wealth beyond 364 days
InvestmentRe: Mutual Funds by Donbrig: 4:36pm On Dec 12, 2025
This is a very good development, I observed it yesterday when I deposited 30k into my Norrenberger mutual fund around 11 am and I was surprised my 30k was already at work when I checked my account around 5 pm.

Kudos to Norrenberger asset managers at the moment, their 1% management fee is also a big GOAL for me, unlike the usual 1.5% from most asset managers.

However, we hope that Norrenberger keeps up with these encouraging developments and don't backslide.....

Stanbic IBTC isn't doing much at the moment, their rate hasn't been encouraging at all, their monthly reinvestment is what they are using as a bait and exactly what is still keeping many with them, but with the low rate they are giving, compared to others, even if they reinvest on weekly basis, they are still gonna be lagging behind

It is always good to have more than one asset manager, because the situation often changes with time.... Those asset managers with low rates and conditions today might be on top tomorrow....

Great Weekend To My Fellow Investors

emmasoft:
The cut-off time for Norrenberger MMF is now 3 pm on any business day.

It means that any deposit made before 3 pm will have the same-day value, and investors will earn interest on the same day.

You guys are really trying monitoring your daily interest in mutual funds, I thought the whole idea of mutual fund was to give your money to financial experts to manage it for you, so you can relax and let them do their jobs. But it seems you guys are monitoring the funds more than the asset managers themselves... cheesy cheesy cheesy
