izzou: I am always laughing when people here respond to comments from APC fanboys about how Nigeria is good.
Nobody can gaslight me.
After you praise Tinubu on NL and X, and worship him for repaying an IMF loan, you'll drop your phone and go and face reality
You'll buy fuel at 880 or 1040 for diesel You'll buy brake disc at 55k You'll buy shocks at 50k
These things do not respond to cho cho cho.
When you praise Tinubu finish, go and face your life alone. Why are you crying on my behalf? I already knew what I was getting into by voting Tinubu. Na Pearl talk say fuel and other things go dey cheaper. I never said so. As a person who understood what the president was coming to do. I already expected this. The president is doing what's right! |

Omoapena: https://www.nairaland.com/8424636/nigerians-pay-more-vehicle-number
this is getting unbearable chief, why Tinubu want to kill us with Tax, I can't count how many things he has increased since he assumed office.
increase in VAT increase in Electricity Increase in fuel increase on import duties introduction of charges on 10k and above transaction introduction of ATM charges per transaction
just to mention few and these heartless man said he's for the people, how common man wan take getting savings with all this ridiculous charges everywhere, person monthly bill just dey skyrocket and earnings remain stagnant.
it's getting tiring and unbearable now🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ Now that you want to talk, we will. VAT increment bill was rejected by the Senate few days ago. Update yourself bro. Increase in electricity shouldn't be a point of argument, enjoying value should be. You can't pay lower for electricity. What I don't like is the fact that some are in Band A and they pay higher rates than those in Band B, C and D. It's wrong. It should be same rate all through, that way you can choose between lesser electricity or more bills. If you are still wailing over fuel subsidy now, then you don't even know what you're talking about. I warned that fuel price will not reduce even after fuel subsidy removal but you listened to Pearl whose lìfe revolves around Drive, Park and Neutral Increase in import duties should have come later but guess what, import duties wasn't necessary increased, what they did in that area was to adjust it with exchange rate. No more subsidy for importation. Get informed No new charges on 10k, get the right news. Stamp duty has always been there. The new charge is for POS owners. Try to get right info. The president is not heartless. Look around you. Almost everyone in the country is living in Lagos because their state governors are pampering them. This is a long term goal to economic freedom. This is exactly what he did that made Pearl leave Anambra and run to Lagos. If he won't remove these bottle necks. Lagos will not improve the way we want, same with the Niger Delta because these two places are responsible for funding Nigerian economy. It is for the best. He did it in Lagos, he will do it Nigeria too. Endure |

Kaymaxi2222: the genuine question they ought to ask themselves is with all these increase tax here, removal of subsidy here and devaluation of our currency there what effect is that having on is government. Because obviously he hasn't done anything spectacular so far just embezzlement rumour. I had a discussion with one SAN who is an APC member, his son booked me for him when his car broke down in VI. And he was defending Tinubu that all the things his doing is necessary this and that. What I used to counter him is simple ' whatever policy a government is making, whatever decision a government is taking it should be for the betterment of its citizens and should translate to a better standard of living to its citizens, not to satisfy some IMF or world Bank. The government duty is to its citizens not IMF or world Bank. And I cited Donald Trump for example who doesn't care what the world Bank is saying or WHO or IMF what he cares about is America first , and how to make America great (though is manner of approach might be debatable) but his mission and idea is clear whatever is going to server the average American well is what he his interest in the rest of the world can go F themselves. And that's how the government of each country is suppose to be your Citizens first not IMF policy or world Bank policy first. This one started well but ended badly America's loan is in USD and the USD is the world's currency. America only need to print new currencies and declare it as loan against itself. If only you understand sha. He say na what has the government done. Wait till campaign period, you will see me here again if I'm invited though. |

Pearl1910: Ragtag Browser, if anybody thought I was lying at least your WhatsApp group is useful today to give us a tabular representation of the figures to buttress my points.
Thank you for the job well done. Next time u try to compare Lagos with other States, remember that Lagos makes X10 what those States are making and should never be compared. If u must compare Lagos, do so with the likes of Joburg, Cairo, etc and not Anambra as ur low IQ always pushes u to do.
I am not sure u understood what u posted cos in your previous posts u gave the impression that oil producing States received more money than Lagos State but Lagos has tried to utilize its income while other States do nothing but embezzle theirs. U laughed at my statement that Lagos receives a fat FAAC, yet u post a table showing Lagos as the highest and number 1 recipient of FAAC. U don't need a brain to be an APC supporter and u always confirm that statement here on a daily. You are still the most cluẹ́less person I've ever come across in this life Notice how your likes went from 6 to a sad 2. I've always discussed the revenue generation capacity of Bola Ahmed Tinubu in this thread, while you've repeatedly claimed Lagos was a capital city bla bla. Now sit tight and let me walk you through some facts. There are four major ways any government earns revenue: 1. IGR 2. FAAC 3. Loans 4. Grants We started with FAAC, and it's obvious you don’t even understand what it means. You said my data came from a WhatsApp group lol. FAAC is influenced by several factors. One is the level of IGR generated, then population size, though there’s no single standard. Lagos gets the lowest allocation in the country, going by how much it earns through IGR. Lagos only receives a portion of its IGR, while other states get over 200% of theirs as FAAC. Check image 1 attached—it shows clearly that Lagos doesn’t receive all of its income, unlike states like Delta. Now that you’ve seen that, note this: why compare Lagos to oil-producing states? Those states generate far less IGR but get much higher FAAC. If you analyze FAAC vs. population, you’ll see Lagos is shortchanged. Many governors aren’t even trying. Why should I compare Lagos to Johannesburg when I can compare it to Anambra or are you avoiding the weak governance of Peter Obi? Governors have no excuse not to grow their state revenues. I showed you evidence of Lagos IGR before Tinubu. He boosted it significantly. What did Obi do? Why avoid the fact that Anambra’s IGR only grew by around 20% under Obi, while other governors before and after achieved 200%+ growth? You boldly claimed Lagos makes x10 of other states. What exactly made Lagos IGR jump from 600m to 40bn in Tinubu’s 8 years? Did they magically start collecting money off the streets? Why didn’t anyone talk about Lagos being a former capital those periods it could barely raise 600m? Even your peer mentioned loans. Again, no clue. You’re just a bunch of misinformed folks echoing each other all day. And to the one crying about tax above, asking what they do with the money. Lol, if Tinubu hadn’t reformed taxes in Lagos, do you think you'd be driving Uber here today? Lastly, to the enthusiastic Pearl throwing opinions without facts: are you aware Oyo State (not a former capital) had the highest VAT generation last year? When you look into that, you’ll understand why Lagos and Rivers took the FG to court to retain their VAT revenue. That legal action even spurred the FG to draft a new tax law. Cheers. Also, don’t forget that you were completely wrong in predicting that fuel prices would drop after subsidy removal.

IGR growth of Lagos under Tinubu.
FYI Peter Obi generated just 1bn in 8 years.
Tinubu did a 468% of IGR in 8 years as Lagos governor
See the governors before and after Pearl's Peter Obi incase he wants to argue that Lagos location is why Tinubu did 468%. How come the governor before and after Peter Obi did over 150% each and Peter Obi could only do just 10% increase?
I hope with this, you can see Pearl only knows how to drive around Lagos and has not political and economic literacy

Pearl1910: Anybody using FAAC to hide the true nature of things is just being clever by half. Lagos State IGR alone is more than the FAAC of the three top oil producing states in Nigeria combined. Lagos state earns more than the top 6 richest states in Nigeria combined. On top of that Lagos still collects a fat FAAC plus IGR and surpasses all other states by a factor of more than X10. Anybody comparing Lagos with other States should ask his father why his family isn't as rich as Otedola, Abiola or Otudeko family. Afteral they are all Yoruba and existed in same century. So by that logic of why are other states not like Lagos, then his father should be as rich as the Adeleke family and should have same wealth.
To whom much is given, much is expected.
They never compare Lagos with Abuja cos Abuja floors Lagos. Yes it's unfair to compare FCT with Lagos but oh, it's okay to compare Lagos with other States? If u want to downplay the role of Federal capital being in Lagos for so many years ask yourself why FCT is the second highest after Lagos in IGR generation.
The govt of Lagos is glad people are here doing business and earning a living because it's fetching the State money and they encourage more people to come to Lagos and transact. It's only ragtags that can't comprehend nada that will be saying go back to ur state in a bid to spit. I like where you go today. Now we will see if you will admit Tinubu built Lagos or not. What was the IGR of Lagos before Tinubu and post Tinubu? Just that 1 question |

izzou: We have used the excuse of Lagos having the only functional port and all what not as the reason for its success
How come other governors along the coast line cannot replicate this model and also develop their cities?
When a place has a good network for transportation, security and power, businesses will move there speedily. Gradually, it's starts to develop, because people will migrate there without being told.
I no be APC fanboy, but it is not Lagos fault that other states refused to have sense If na me talk this thing now dem go say na APC and Tinubu stuff cause am. You cannot be receiving more allocations than Lagos, still have far lower population and be stagnant. The distance is just too much.

Texas is bigger than Nigeria (If I am not wrong).
Lagos is too small for the workload on it, and it is the failure of past and present governments to not have created similar cities like that. Small truth dey inside wetin you talk. Gentlelife50: Oga the problem of your Lagos that you are always singing like anthem is lack of organization, do you know a state in India habours almost 245 million persons? Carlifonia has almost 40 million persons, followed by Texas currently 31 million yet you will never feel it, one day you will wake to know how they have been shortchanging you because of your little mind. I know you will come with another reply but all I will say is zuzuwe, lazy okenye shouting our Lagos up and down. 🏃 🏃 🏃 Atole! Is using states like California, Texas, and even in parts of India. Why not compare how institutions are managed in an overpopulated area like Lagos versus your own state, which has only about 10% of Lagos’ population? That would be a fairer starting point. It’s a bit ironic to criticize Lagos from a distance without stating where you’re from. If you’re confident, let’s compare your state’s allocation and population to Lagos and see how things are coordinated there. For example, Delta, Bayelsa, and Rivers states receive allocations similar to or even more than Lagos, yet their populations are far smaller. That gives them more money per capita. How well are things managed there? Having access to the internet and education is great, but it doesn’t automatically mean one has a better understanding of governance. Lagos is doing reasonably well, considering its scale and complexity. If you strongly disagree, you’re always free to explore other places that align more with your expectations. I think this is more formal |
