Crime / Repentant Terrorists Swore By Quran, can’t Return To Killings – Says Zulum Borno by Donchieli: 12:15pm On Feb 15 |
The Borno State government said, on Wednesday, that the 160,000 repentant Boko Haram insurgents can’t return to killings because they swore to an oath with the Quran. The state’s Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Zuwaira Gambo, whose ministry oversees the affairs of the ex-combatants and rescued captives, added that of the 160,000 repentant insurgents, 70,000 had been resettled and reintegrated into their communities. Gambo stressed that having sworn by the Quran the ex-terrorists would never return to the bush to rejoin Boko Haram. She spoke at the public presentation of survivors, victims and deradicalised women of Boko Haram by the UKAID-assisted Maiduguri-based non-governmental organisation, Allamin Foundation. The commissioner allayed the growing public fears that the resurgence of terror in the North-East was being caused by the repentant terrorists reneging on their repentance and trooping back to the bush to pick up arms against the Nigerian state. She said, “It is completely untrue that the repentant Boko Haram fighters are reneging on their repentance and returning to the bush to continue fighting. “Out of the over 160,000 who repented, we have already reintegrated over 70,000 in their home communities, and I can assure you that no one will be missing should we decide to gather all of them for anyone to confirm. We operate a transparent process of their repentance The Borno State government said, on Wednesday, that the 160,000 repentant Boko Haram insurgents can’t return to killings because they swore to an oath with the Quran. We operate a transparent process of their repentance.” The commissioner said she was sure the repentant insurgent would not return to the trenches, having taken an oath with the Quran. “We subject each of them to proper oath taking with the Holy Quran that he or she will never return to the bush to fight; and he or she swears with the Holy Quran in the presence of a committee comprising traditional rulers, religious leaders and government officials. “No repentant Boko Haram dare renege on the oath because he or she knows what it means to swear with the Holy Quran and renege; and he or she knows that he or she dare not return to the bush because he or she knows that death awaits him on arrival; their commanders in the bush will kill him because they would not trust him.” Gambo said about 75 per cent of the repentant insurgents were originally farmers, who were captured and forced into insurgency. “They were not real fighters,” she said. She, however, said the state government would study the entire charters of demand and do everything it could about them. The charter comprises the demands of the survivors and victims from the government, security agencies, NGOs, the media, traditional and religious leaders, community members and other stakeholders for proper rehabilitation to a prosperous life. Yes, people in places of authority or power in Nigeria tend to leave the actual problems and tend to things of no significance But then I dnt blame them, I blame the masses the people are the one's with the real power, yet for a slice of bread we throw away our birthright like Esaw Only to start crying fowl after the deed has been done And still repeat the same thing four years later Nigerians biggest problem is Nigerians, scared of change, scared of new ideas, scared of the unknown, so we keep recycling and rebrand the same old vomits we call leaders U hear petty talks like, make we kuku manage these ones wer we know, that one we never try am b4, we no knw, wetin he fit do But they forget the phrase, "WHAT YOU DON'T KNOW CAN'T KILL YOU" Nigeria is a pity We vote and put people in places of power and authority out of pity, familiarization and religious affiliation, knowing fully well they can't perform Tueh on this country nervorum: |

Spoelstra and the Heat agreed to an eight-year extension earlier this week, reportedly worth around $120 million. He is currently in his 16th season as the Heat head coach. The new agreement came after he and Sapp announced they agreed to divorce.Social media trolls immediately came after Sapp, saying "way to fumble the bag." She spoke out against critics on her Instagram Stories on Wednesday. "Lol. "According to crass, ignorant, uninformed society at large, women can’t ‘win.’ "Women can’t be genuinely in love with someone successful. No, they’re pretending and they’re in it for the money. Business To Business / BREAKING: Glo Subscribers To Be Barred From Calling MTN Lines — NCC Reveals by Donchieli: 2:11pm On Jan 08 |
The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has approved MTN’s request to partially disconnect Globacom (Glo) from its network due to unpaid interconnect charges. The decision—announced by Reuben Muoka, the NCC’s Director of Public Affairs, in a document titled ‘Pre-Disconnection Notice’ on Monday—comes after Glo failed to settle its outstanding debts despite repeated attempts at resolution. According to Punch, under this partial disconnection, Globacom subscribers will only be able to receive calls from MTN users, not initiate them. All other network functionalities, including outgoing calls to other networks and data services, will remain operational for Globacom customers. The statement read, “All subscribers are, therefore requested to take notice that the Commission has approved the Partial Disconnection of Globacom to MTN in accordance with Section 100 of the Nigerian Communications Act, 2003 and Paragraph 9 of the Guidelines on Procedure for Granting Approval to Disconnect Telecommunications Operators, 2012. “At the expiration of 10 days from January 8, 2024, subscribers of Globacom will no longer be able to make calls to MTN but will be able to receive calls. “The Partial Disconnection, however, will allow in-bound calls to the Globacom network,” it stated.
