If the country was actually working, you would be incarcerated for this your comment

Watianoengineer:
For those blaming APC and president Tinubu for the hardship in the country, are you all aware that UK and Japan are currently in economic recession? Is it APC and Tinubu that is ruling both nations? Nobody should blame APC and Tinubu for the rot the PDP government of Jonathan caused. What we are suffering today is the result of the Jonathan government's recklessness. May God help our dear president Tinubu to fix the country like he did in Lagos.

Crime / Repentant Terrorists Swore By Quran, can’t Return To Killings – Says Zulum Borno by Donchieli: 12:15pm On Feb 15
The Borno State government said, on Wednesday, that the 160,000 repentant Boko Haram insurgents can’t return to killings because they swore to an oath with the Quran.

The state’s Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Zuwaira Gambo, whose ministry oversees the affairs of the ex-combatants and rescued captives, added that of the 160,000 repentant insurgents, 70,000 had been resettled and reintegrated into their communities.

Gambo stressed that having sworn by the Quran the ex-terrorists would never return to the bush to rejoin Boko Haram.

She spoke at the public presentation of survivors, victims and deradicalised women of Boko Haram by the UKAID-assisted Maiduguri-based non-governmental organisation, Allamin Foundation.

The commissioner allayed the growing public fears that the resurgence of terror in the North-East was being caused by the repentant terrorists reneging on their repentance and trooping back to the bush to pick up arms against the Nigerian state.

She said, “It is completely untrue that the repentant Boko Haram fighters are reneging on their repentance and returning to the bush to continue fighting.

“Out of the over 160,000 who repented, we have already reintegrated over 70,000 in their home communities, and I can assure you that no one will be missing should we decide to gather all of them for anyone to confirm. We operate a transparent process of their repentance

The commissioner said she was sure the repentant insurgent would not return to the trenches, having taken an oath with the Quran.

“We subject each of them to proper oath taking with the Holy Quran that he or she will never return to the bush to fight; and he or she swears with the Holy Quran in the presence of a committee comprising traditional rulers, religious leaders and government officials.

“No repentant Boko Haram dare renege on the oath because he or she knows what it means to swear with the Holy Quran and renege; and he or she knows that he or she dare not return to the bush because he or she knows that death awaits him on arrival; their commanders in the bush will kill him because they would not trust him.”

Gambo said about 75 per cent of the repentant insurgents were originally farmers, who were captured and forced into insurgency.

“They were not real fighters,” she said.

She, however, said the state government would study the entire charters of demand and do everything it could about them.

The charter comprises the demands of the survivors and victims from the government, security agencies, NGOs, the media, traditional and religious leaders, community members and other stakeholders for proper rehabilitation to a prosperous life.

Religion / Tinubu Promises Support For 2024 Hajj Pilgrimage by Donchieli: 2:09pm On Feb 12
Tinubu Approves Rebate On 2024 Hajj Pilgrimage

President Bola Tinubu, on Sunday, promised to give support to Nigerians planning to embark on the 2024 Hajj pilgrimage exercise.
The President gave the hint when he met with a delegation from the Global Tijaniyya Movement, led by Khalifa Muhammad Mahe Niass, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

During the meeting, President Tinubu emphasized the importance of synergy between spiritual leaders and political leaders in the task of nation-building.

The president also told the delegation that his administration will support plans and efforts to give ease and succour to Hajj pilgrims.

President Tinubu had in January, granted approval to three airlines to serve as exclusive carriers for the 2024 Hajj pilgrimage.

The Assistant Director of Public Affairs at the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Fatima Sanda-Usara, made this known in a statement in Abuja.

Sanda-Usara stated that the airlines approved by the President included Air Peace Ltd., FlyNas and Max Air.

She said Air Peace would transport intending pilgrims from Abia, Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Bayelsa, Cross River, Delta, Ebonyi, Edo, Ekiti, Enugu, Imo, Kwara, Ondo, Rivers states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), while FlyNas will transport intending pilgrims from Borno, Lagos, Osun, Ogun, Niger, Sokoto, Kebbi, Yobe and Zamfara states.

She added that Max Air, with the highest allocation, will be responsible for moving pilgrims from Bauchi, Benue, Kano, Katsina, Kogi, Nasarawa, Adamawa, Oyo, Taraba, Kaduna, Armed Forces, Gombe, Jigawa and Plateau states.

Sanda-Usara also disclosed that three other air cargo companies, Cargo Zeal Technologies Ltd., Nahco Aviance and Qualla Investment Ltd, have been approved to airfreight pilgrims’ excess luggage.

To prove that your preferred choice is a failure

You are in a country that uses naira, and yet you have to save ur money in another currency other than your native currency in your native land, does that not show you that ur man has failed even you

It shows even you don't trust the man, you support

It's a shame

smokinloud:

It's still your fault for failing to plan well. Every candidates promised to remove subsidy. We all know that nothing is backing the naira again and it's losing it's value. Why not save your money in dollars and continue with your project?!.
Once again, Tinubu is not to blame for your failure to plan!

Yes, people in places of authority or power in Nigeria tend to leave the actual problems and tend to things of no significance

But then I dnt blame them, I blame the masses the people are the one's with the real power, yet for a slice of bread we throw away our birthright like Esaw

Only to start crying fowl after the deed has been done

And still repeat the same thing four years later

Nigerians biggest problem is Nigerians, scared of change, scared of new ideas, scared of the unknown, so we keep recycling and rebrand the same old vomits we call leaders

U hear petty talks like, make we kuku manage these ones wer we know, that one we never try am b4, we no knw, wetin he fit do

But they forget the phrase, "WHAT YOU DON'T KNOW CAN'T KILL YOU" Nigeria is a pity

We vote and put people in places of power and authority out of pity, familiarization and religious affiliation, knowing fully well they can't perform

Tueh on this country

There was a loud bang said to be as a result of an explosion in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital on Tuesday evening.

A loud bang was heard around Agbowo, Sango, Orogun and Bodija areas of the city.

However, the cause of the explosion could not be ascertained at the time of filing this report.

A resident of Orogun told SaharaReporters that she heard the deafening sound, saying, “It felt like a tremor that shook the house.”

Another source in the Agbowo area said he heard it was a gas explosion. However, this could not be independently confirmed by SaharaReporters.

Efforts to reach the spokesperson for the state police command, Adewale Osifeso and the state fire service to ascertain what happened failed.

'

Nikki Sapp, the ex-wife of Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra, fired back at critics who claimed she dropped the ball for divorcing the two-time NBA champion before his lucrative contract extension.

Spoelstra and the Heat agreed to an eight-year extension earlier this week, reportedly worth around $120 million. He is currently in his 16th season as the Heat head coach. The new agreement came after he and Sapp announced they agreed to divorce.Social media trolls immediately came after Sapp, saying "way to fumble the bag." She spoke out against critics on her Instagram Stories on Wednesday.

"Lol. I’m going to address this comment NOT as it pertains to my personal life choices but as it relates to a general thought process that I believe a lot of people have and that a lot of people have harassed me with over the years," she wrote, according to the New York Post. "According to crass, ignorant, uninformed society at large, women can’t ‘win.’

"Women can’t be genuinely in love with someone successful. No, they’re pretending and they’re in it for the money. And if a woman chooses to not be with a successful partner, apparently she’s an idiot."

Business To Business / BREAKING: Glo Subscribers To Be Barred From Calling MTN Lines — NCC Reveals by Donchieli: 2:11pm On Jan 08
The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has approved MTN’s request to partially disconnect Globacom (Glo) from its network due to unpaid interconnect charges.

The decision—announced by Reuben Muoka, the NCC’s Director of Public Affairs, in a document titled ‘Pre-Disconnection Notice’ on Monday—comes after Glo failed to settle its outstanding debts despite repeated attempts at resolution.

According to Punch, under this partial disconnection, Globacom subscribers will only be able to receive calls from MTN users, not initiate them. All other network functionalities, including outgoing calls to other networks and data services, will remain operational for Globacom customers.

The statement read, “All subscribers are, therefore requested to take notice that the Commission has approved the Partial Disconnection of Globacom to MTN in accordance with Section 100 of the Nigerian Communications Act, 2003 and Paragraph 9 of the Guidelines on Procedure for Granting Approval to Disconnect Telecommunications Operators, 2012.

“At the expiration of 10 days from January 8, 2024, subscribers of Globacom will no longer be able to make calls to MTN but will be able to receive calls.

“The Partial Disconnection, however, will allow in-bound calls to the Globacom network,” it stated.
