Why always you?

You've had issues with almost everybody on this thread. You attack anyone that their opinion differs from yours.

Yesterday it was Sod, today it's Nih.ilist...

If u can't take the heat don't start the fire.
Now you're using an alternate acc to push ur "Victim" act.
Point out those I have attacked if you know you are not a fool.
Of course, everyone here knows you as the number one asskisser on this forum. It's been pointed out numerously, that's why any account that goes against your masters stance must be an alternate account.

The minute nihilist just said "alternate account", you latched onto it as you always do to start shouting alternate account. How am I even sure that you are not nihilist's alternate account, seeing as you always second his stance you sick fuck_.

Go and continue kissing ass, it's what you're trained to do.

There's nothing to assume there. Their position is clear

In the West, an average Yoruba lady will marry a Christian and nothing happens. In the north, it's almost impossible

In the West, a Muslim enjoys alcohol. Infact we have Muslims running Betting businesses and clubs (Shina Peller, Akin Alabi, Kessignton). In the North, that cannot happen

In the West, there is no Hisbah Police. In the North, they are very effective

I could go on and on. The Northerners are the problem, not Islam
You must know that in the north, culture and religion is deeply interwoven, you cannot extricate one from the other seeing as Islam has been their culture for more than 400 years.
As a matter of fact, the reason why it's only a smaller section of the west that are Moslems today is because their conquest was stopped by the British, if not, the entire Yoruba kingdom might have fallen to Islamic rule and become an emirate, integrating some of these hardline principles.
You cannot try to blame only the north for these social vices when clearly their religion shapes their thinking. Whatever law they make and abide by is strictly from their Quran.

Regardless, it's still a facetious position.

There are laws in place in the country to deal with people who marry underage.

So what is the meaning of 'speaking out'?

How many times have these people felt the need to 'speak out' about yahoo or ritual killings which are fairly common crimes in Southern Nigeria?

Does this mean that yahoo or ritual killings are widely accepted and not against the law?

What purpose does speaking out serve? The people who do these things are well aware that the law doesn't look kindly on their activities...and they don't care!

Let the law handle it's business, or you join police and arrest niggas

But don't stand and form enlightened nigga, when in the so called advanced countries, even their leaders are nacking under age...
So because it is a rule or a norm, people shouldn't speak out against ithuh

Then of what use is nairaland and other social media platforms? The beauty of Social media is that it amplifies our voices and broadcasts our opinions.

For instance,The only thing that connects both of us in this life right now is the fact that we can chat with ourselves here, on an open online platform where we can exchange our opinions and ideas and thousands of people will get to see and absorb ideas. That in itself is INFLUENCE and CHANGE.
You speaking out against "speaking out" is the most senseless I've ever heard you say.

Seeing the danger literally people face when they speak out against religion, the best and most effective tool for change is social media.

You can't say everyone should just accept and respect the status quo.

In the North, their women don't go to mosques to pray(I don't know why), unlike here that everyone can.
I can take a beer with my Muslim friends in public here, and no Hisbah would come for us. For heaven's sake, the Hisbah police do not exist in the West. I could go on and on, but that's not the issue

Anyone trying to hang this on Islam is just trying to stir up trouble. These issues don't come up in the West.

Izuchukwu, that you didn't see or experience any abuse from the hisbah police doesn't mean that they are not there.

12 states in Nigeria formally adopt the sharia law. Yes, some western states are not as radical as their northern counterparts because they (the Moslems) don't have the preponderance over the rest. But why are the so-called "liberal" Muslims not doing enough to stomp out radicalism? How many prominent Muslim influencers speak out against radicalism?

I showed official legislation that banned child marriage in Saudi the home of Islam, and mentioned how rich Saudis don't even care about Islam like that

I then even listed many so called advanced countries like Japan, Finland, Italy and even UK where age of consent is 16 and below ( Japan I think age of consent is 13, Hungary 12)

You don come again with your wahala. Looking for trouble as usual.

Get this, a man is now on death row for "blasphemy". A man is about to legally lose his life, simply for speaking against a religion. Lawyers are AFRAID of defending the man because they don't want to be killed too.

A formal body of Muslims have formally endorsed the death penalty for "blasphemy".
This is no more just a problem of radicalism but an essential obstruction of free speech.

Someone could even overlook the problem of child marriage and say e no concern me, but are you not terrified when the basic rule of law and it's interpreters formally endorse radicalism in a society that is supposed to be secular.

There was a time in history when Christian religious fanatics in ancient England will chop your head off for blasphemy against Jesus. It's no different to what is happening now with Islamic fundamentalists. Christianity has gone through centuries of evolution. And now Christians seem more tolerant of what is considered religious slander. Islam is learning and evolving , albeit in a new world, it's evolving nonetheless.

So it's been the way of man. People been doing things under the guise of religion for eons.

The fact is that there are way more liberal Muslims now than there were decades ago, as evidenced by the millions of southern Nigerian Muslims who don't condone the acts of paedophilia. In another 50 years, there will be millions of more Muslims, born into a less conservative society, who chose not to condone it.
How do you know what you said about the bolded is true, seeing as there are no prominent Moslems who come out boldly to criticize the practice.

You seem to be clearly oblivious to the facts that criticizing any aspect of Islam can legally lead to your death?
Didn't you see the thread on front page that I shared here in one of my recent posts.

Muslim lawyers have endorsed and sanctioned the death sentence of a man who "blasphemed" against Mohammed?
How will the religion continue to evolve if it doesn't even entertain any form of dissent or criticism? How does it evolve when it's members are threatened upon the pain of apostasy and death if they dare question or leave the religion?

Just take a look at this thread for example, look at how damola has started throwing abuses at me simply because I asked him to scrutinize his belief.
We know that Amoto94 and fbs are Muslims and some other neutral observers here are Muslims, have you heard any of them come out and state boldly "yes, I'm a Muslim but i don't condone child marriage".

Condemning child marriage means condemning Mohammed and that is what no Moslem will dare do, which is just absolutely pitiful.

There's no denying the role that religious fanatics play a huge role in the discourse; but we add to the problem when we don't separate facts from widely-held false beliefs. There are 10s of millions of southern Nigerian Muslims who don't take child wives. There are millions of southern Nigerian Muslims who don't condone the idea either.

In the UK here, there are tons of non-religious men from a certain demographic who constantly engage in sexual relations with young boys and girls. The only difference is they cannot legally marry them. I am willing to bet that if there is legal cover for these people, they too will try to marry young boys and girls.

Some people will try to do this, regardless of region or religion. It's a human thing, not a religious thing.
I think you misunderstand me. I am perfectly aware that there are pedophiles who carry out their repulsive acts independent of religious beliefs.

The problem however is that hardly will they justify their actions as moral and right.
In ancient times, man had shorter live spans and almost every civilization accepted child marriages.

However, today we are very much evolved in our thinking and thought process. We know that it is terrible for a man to have carnal knowledge of children whose organs aren't even fully developed. Look at that picture i posted, you can see the girl hasn't even developed breasts yet.
We know the range of psychological issues and trauma that befall such infant brides.
We just know how terrible such practices are but we have a religion with billions of followers all over the word that still partake in this carnage while justifying it as normal.

Yes, humanity has its darkest side, some people do a lot of bad things irrespective of religion but those people hide and will not defend their actions because they know it is wrong, but isn't it crazy that we live in a society where you could be legally killed if you say Mohammed is a pedophile. When that was indeed true.

Your argument is devoid of facts, stats and as is the case with most of these arguments, laden with emotion rather than rationale.
Premise 1: You say the problem is not guns but racism, using Canada as an example.
- In 2019, 25% of Police killings in US were black vs 12.5% of the population (ie a Police killing is 2x more likely to be a black man than the aevrage population spread)
- In Canada, 9.3% of Police killings were black vs 3.4% of the population (ie a Canadian Police killing is 3x more likely to be a black man than the average population spread)
https://i.imgur.com/S6cHGZF.png
Are Canada Police more racist than US Police?
Premise 2 - You say the problem is not second amendment, using Canada as an example

2019 - deaths from Police in USA - 1,004 from 363 million guns in private circulation (prevalence rate of 1 death per 363,000 guns in circulation)
2018 - deaths from Police in Canada - 57 from 13 million guns in private circulation (prevalence rate of 1 police killing per 228,000 guns in circulation)

Vast majority of deaths in both countries are from weapon incidents
Conclusion - Canada Police kill more people on average per gunholders, and more black people as a percentage of population spread
Sidenote - Canadian gun ownership is low (35%) due to stricter laws than US that require two week background check and limit the no of rounds per gun unlike USA. Also guns must be kept at home in Canada unless you are going to the shooting range, and you cannot make a stop on your way to the range.
Premise 3 - lets test the hypothesis that guns is not the problem by comparing Canada against UK

Canada - 57 Police killings per year from population of 38 million people
UK - Zero to three Police killings per year from population of 67 million people

Key difference - UK Police do not carry guns unlike Canadian Police
The above establishes 3 things that disprove your theory, using your Angel country Canada as a base for comparison:

1. Canada Police disproportionally kill more black people than US Police per population spread
2. US killings are not disproportionate to Canada per gun ownership, infact lower
3. Clearly, presence of Guns are the reason for the wide disparity between Police Killings in Canada vs Police killings in Great Britain.
There are racists in the Police force, same as in every sector of Society. There are racists in UK and Europe Police also (but no killings thanks to lack of guns).

However, what I want to challenge is your narrative that the Police is a bastion for murderers who want to kill black people. What will make a racist who wants to kill black people think the Police force is the place to carry out such agenda? Lets examine using Human Psychology

1 - The minute you kill a black man unjustly, your Police career is over (no more opportunity to kill blacks). Obviously this is not appealing to someone whose intention is the murder of black people.

2 - Vast majority of black deaths are in Urban areas where many of your superiors will be black (whether Sergeant, Luitenant, DPO or Chief of Police). Obviously black people are well entrenched in power in the Police forces where most killings take place, so how is that an establishment where a would-be racist murderer would feel comfortable killing blacks with impunity without running into a black superior who will put brakes on his career as a racist killer.
3 - Why would you choose a profession (Police) to kill blacks where as soon as you do so, your cover will be exposed in all National media, you lose the ability to kill more, you lose your source of income, move away from your home, and have to watch your back for the rest of your life.

Do any of the above fit what would drive a would-be racist murderer to choose the Police force to carry out his agenda of killing blacks? Human Psychology does not support such rationale.
Point, blank, period - from all the statistics I have seen, US Police are even trying to keep casualties low in such a hyperweaponised society. I will not join in anarchy that does not stem from facts and rationale. I bet if you give UK Police guns, and give UK population guns, UK Police will have higher error percentage and be more trigger happy than their US counterparts, because they don't have experience of such dicey situations.
Wow, Ibime you've gone to great lengths literally to make a good case that the 2nd amendment is responsible for the high rate of police killings and that no true racist will intentionally join the police to carry out his evil shenanigans.
I really do applaud your due diligence on this.
Although our points can be independent of each other, they don't necessarily contradict.

I have said that i agree that the 2nd amendment rights which give ordinary civilians the rights to bear any kind of arms and with loose control rules is a recipe for disaster. I'm only adding that the presence of a deep seethed racial bias are also triggers for some of us the violence.

Anyway, we don't need to continue to argue about the cause of the violence as we can all agree that there is a real explosion of gun violence in the country. What we can do at this point is proffer and agree on the solutions to this problem.

For me basic steps need to be taken that can solve the problem.
1. Repeal the 2nd amendment, it's really an archaic law. Of course this is a very difficult and complex thing to do, considering the amount of guns already in circulation. The ways this can work is if
i, the government orders all citizens to submit all fire arms and adopt Singapore's rule on guns that imprisons any citizen for life in possession of a weapon and sentences to death any individual who commits any crime with a gun irrespective of it's usage.

2. Better training and orientation of the police force, it is said that many states poorly train their officers and this is a significant factor in the death of Jacob Blake. A well trained officer could have easily subdued Blake before he even reached his vehicle door. Basic Things like the right approach to suspects and mannerisms of the cops matter. Handling tense racial relations. In short, a good rehabilitation.

3. Better investigations into misconducts and malpractices of cops who break the law. Many cops are truly roaming freely after killing people, that is very bad.

I think these are all good productive steps that will eliminate the high violence in the American society and restore safety and public confidence in the police.

I think you will find that child marriage is only a cultural thing rather than a religious belief of any kind; and that most Muslims around the world do not condone the act.

I am a Christian but even I know child marriage has nothing to do with the Islamic religion.
But today, acts like these are justified by millions of Muslims around the world because it is protected by sharia law, which is the prerogative moral guide of most Moslems.

My problem isn't really where the candidate comes from, it is about the ideology and ideals of the candidate. Will the person put faith, tribe and religion over nationality??

For instance, someone like lamido sanusi was clearly a progressive, speaking against some of the archaic practices and belligerence of his people, He spoke against the child marriage issue, against the almajiri culture, against the rigidity of their religion. A shame he was eventually silenced.
But if there were more people in the Ideological mould of sanusi, I really wouldn't mind.

Furthermore, the south would have themselves to blame if the north should retain power. The inability of a better educated south to form an unholy alliance is mind boggling. The easterners and westerners have chosen to perpetually be at logger heads with one another and that is just plainly foolish. No one can blame the north if they continue to capitalize on this to rule.

Sincerely Nigeria's problems get too many branches.

I kind of get Ibime's point. In a society where all and sundry have guns, you don't mess around with the police because they'll easily shoot you...As much as you might want to paint the police black, it's the responsibility of blacks or whoever is involved to first protect their lives by being fully compliant with the directives of the cops.

The above doesn't in any way mean they're no bad cops but it reduces the chances of a casualty to the barest minimum...
This issue have been rehashed severally.
The US is a country whereby a black man there can do everything right and still be killed by a cop.

The history of race relations plays a very vital role in the mentality we are seeing now. The children and grandchildren of those who lynched black men and raped their women are still alive, those who opposed the right of a black man to vote or share a public facility with a white man.
These people and their offspring are still alive and have simply reinvented their sinister methods, it's only that now we can capture some of these actions on camera.

Yes, the 2nd amendment rights makes the situation more dire but the problem IS NOT BECAUSE of the 2nd amendment, it is simply a factor of the problem.
Afterall, there are other advanced countries with high civilian ownership of guns where we don't constantly see this crass violence or worse so this disproportionate violence, for instance Canada, Switzerland and most of the Nordic countries allow and have a high degree of gun ownership in their society, yet we don't constantly see the school shootings or high rate of gun violence.

The American society is deeply polarized both racially, ideologically and politically. The current president makes it far worse. You can't expect black folks to fold their arms and do nothing while being treated badly.

So this is your conclusion from watching the video? cheesy

So the response to a well dressed middle aged black man at a basketball game is to shove him twice while he was obviously trying to bring out his badge and despite him clearly saying “I am the President of the Raptors” before the 2nd shove.

LOL

Guy, you seem to go out of your way to blame the black guy in almost every situation like this.

Whatta gwan?
Dayo's stance doesn't surprise me, we've known him for long. It's Ibime's own that is quite surprising and sad, especially considering his political leaning.

Why is Hollywood filled with so many left leaning, liberal celebs who casually promote and perpetuate US empire by endorsing these imperialist scum of the earth politicians?
Again with your rubbish. What makes you think any right thinking intellectual would want to be a republikkkan? What do you think draws the racists and far rights to the party? Only foolish sellouts and black coon uncle toms like you would boldly say they support the republicans who don't give a damn about you.
